My flex application generates individual pdf documents based on individual selection criterion,but i need to merge those generated pdfs or is it possible to store individual pdfs temporarily then merge those into single pdf?
View 2 RepliesIm trying to create a pdf in high resolution in 300dpi with pdf alive for flex, i used this code: var image:ImageSnapshot = ImageSnapshot.captureImage(page[i], 300, new JPEGEncoder()); but i create the pages with a loop for(), and this makes that my web aplication crashed, beacause it spend a lot of time to create the PDF. Exist some way to create this process in the background but dont want the .swf to freeze while the number crunching happens, or another way to create pdf in high resolution(300dpi) with flex.

Right now I am using Alive Pdf for generating PDF from datagrid and its doing a great job. Since flex printing by itself sucks I was wondering if I could directly print using Alive PDF?

As indicated in the code comment, the loader variable should fall out of scope after the URLLoaderExample constructor. However... it still seems to be kept alive (not garbage collected) somewhere since the onComplete listener/handler is able to receive it cleanly. Where is the magic/hidden/global reference to loader that keeps it alive so that it can complete it's load operation, and then be handed to the onComplete listener/callback? Can this reference be seen somewhere?
To help with context... as a similar example, I know that the loader instance will have the onComplete listener registered. I also know I need to be careful to use removeEventListener at all times (?) to avoid potential memory leaks resulting from stranded listeners. What concerns me is that I don't understand where the magic loader reference is and whether (or when) I need to clean that up.

I have the VDivided box set up so the user can drag it to make one of the documents bigger or smaller.Is there a way to get the look of a VDivided box & the functionality of an Accordian, so that when the user clicks the VDivided box (or double clicks, I haven't decided) one of the documents will be hidden? (For instance, double clicking on the right-most side of the divider will hide the left document, and vice-versa)

View 2 RepliesI'm getting occasional ConcurrencyError faults when using HTTPService in Flex 3. I have four HTTPService objects, all configured with concurrency=single. I'm not sure though how to continue to diagnose, as I don't see in the FaultEvent what service object caused the issue, and I can't easily reproduce it on-demand.
One feature of my app is that I am also using a URLRequest to load a sound shortly after receiving a result from one of the HTTPService calls. Could this be related to the concurrency error?
The fault looks like this:

After upgrading the Flex SDK from 3.1 to any newer version of the SDK and trying to compile an existing project, the following error appears in the Problems pane:

It looks like the problem is in the ...sdks/3.3.0/frameworks/libs/player/10/playerglobal.swc file, but I'm certainly not sure.

The problem lies in the fact, that when the ArrayCollection _data is filtered (because the Checkbox "Even" is set), then the 2nd loop in the test case (for adding new items) adds items (the "35") again and again - because it's filtered and thus not visible.

(Yes I tried to convince the client they don't want to do this, but apparently they really want to do it). I have an area graph and I'm looking to have the data points to be shown. I have a CircleItemRenderer, but this shows all of the datapoints in the default stroke and fill. 1) How do I customize the display of my CircleItemRenderer? (instead of it having an orange fill, how can I change the color?

I have a problem with inline components. I want to reach an inline component from another one.. From the first component, i want to change "enable" value of the linkbutton named "Add" which is in second component. Altough i gave "id" and "className" to second one, i could reach neither it nor its elements.. is there a way to do this?

View 1 RepliesIn Flex3, I could compile pure as3 code and use "embed" tags to load in images. This was done by Flex making a BitmapAsset class.I can still do this in Flex4.
However, there was a trick to fakeout flex3 and use my own mx.core.BitmapAsset class to remove some of the extraneous stuff Flex's BitmapAsset brings in with it. This is described here: [URL]..Unfortunately, I cannot get these tricks to work with Flex4 and get smaller file sizes. I end up with the error "VerifyError: Error #1014: Class mx.core::BitmapAsset could not be found."[URL]..Following this advice, I add -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries=true, and my swf loads without an error... but this means I am loading in the pieces of the flex framework I wanted to omit (and the file size says so too).

I have a flex3 component(US heat Map) which accepts a arrayCollection (state and value pairs). I need to create a webdynpro wrapper for this to use in Visual Composer 7.2.
What I am trying to do is migrate the flex components I made for Visual Composer 7.0 (using a VCXL wrapper) to Visual Composer 7.2 using web Dynpro. I have managed to migrate components which require simple input data types like integer or string, but I am stuck at those which require complex structures like an array collection.
I am working on a feature for an application that requires Flex 4 functionality. Due to some migration issues of the application from Flex 3.5 to 4.0, I have decided to implement this feature as a module that is compiled with Flex 4.0. The theory is that the application would remain compiled in Flex 3.5 and load the module when it needs it.[code]
