Flex :: Unable To Use Runtime After Migrating From Flex3 To 4 In Compatibility Mode?

We are migrating our Flex-3.2 application to Flex 4.1, mainly to take advantage of the new text flow/engine features. In a first step we decided to go with compiling for MX-only and in Flex-3-compatibility mode.

Now do the same in Flex 3 and you'll see both events fire.Apparently, this is a bug. Might be possible to work around this but certainly decreases my level or trust substantially.2) Dialogs/popups show all content mirrored.A bug as well. Easy to work around, but how could something that obvious slip?

In my Flash Builder (Flex) 4.6 app, I just noticed for some reason all my "s:Window" components will not allow me to click and select anything in design mode in flash builder!
My other non-window type components are fine - I can open a TitleWindow or Group for example and click on the various fields and labels no problem.
In my Window components, I can select an item in the 'outline' window, but not using the mouse and actually clicking on the component in the visual design window. When I click in there, it looks like it's selecting the actual 'window' box. Almost like it needs to be 'sent to back' or something.

How much of an impact will migrating to Flex 4 have on our code base? We have about 40k LOC written in Flex 3 I'm hoping that there are no breaking changes in the Flex SDK, and that we can smoothly transition to the new features of Flex 4 while minimizing any disruption. From what I've read Adobe is developing a new set of GUI components called 'Spark' but I'm hoping our existing stuff can co-exist with the new components.

I have an application that I'm keeping on the 2006 namespace, but I'm having trouble with a couple concepts, like the halo only styles, the CSS namespacing conventions, and styling child controls.

I've created an application that includes a number of Modules and uses Parsley framework. Ant is used to build the application.Recently I thought of using Resource Bundles and implemented it in the system by creating a locale/en_US folder under the src. I added a portal.properties file with all my strings defined.In my modules, I added the metadata

In the ant build file, I added the below lines within mxmlc.

The build works fine and when I deploy the application and open it in my browser, I'm greeted with many errors thrown by the Flash player.But if I dismiss the messages, its working fine. My strings are replaced with the values in the property file, but how do I stop the runtime errors being thrown up?I get the below error.

I'm migrating a FlashBuilder project (actually a project I'm working on with FlexBuilder eclipse plugin on Linux) to use FDT. I managed to import the project, and make it aware of other projects it depends on.
However I get lots of compile errors for things that seem harmless (and used to compile). At least, for example :

So, I get "unresolved function" for all the calls of the form someAttribute="{this.someFunction()}", even though the function is described in the same block file. Is it that I've been abusing AS3 / FlashBuilder for all this time ?
Also, generic components have problem. Assume I have a class with a deferred 'content' attribute, and I want to instanciate this class and "fill the blank" : I define a custom component in a CustomComponent.mxml file, with a deferred content

I ran F9 to see if there is an embedded call for it in an action script and there is none. Then I looked at the entire Library for an Old Image. I still could not find it. I have a set of users who run my application in non debug mode. Off late they have been reporting lot of issues. But I am not able to debug as there is no log file.Is it possuible in flex 3 to do logging in a file without running in debug version. I understand trace only works if we run application in debug version.

I have a movie clip button with a dynamic text field inside. I am loading the mc dynamically to the stage. In Full_Screen mode static buttons including the full screen button work without a problem, but the dynamic button event does not trigger when clicked. In this simplified code belwo the dynamic button when clicked should change its message to "You have clicked button 1". This works in normal mode, but not in Full screen.I tried btn_cuePt_1.enabled= true; but without success.
Does it have something to do with not using the fullscreen events?

Structure of my button is: Think of it as three layers inside a movie_clip. I used an empty button on the top layer so I would get a pointer cursor, I used a dynamic textfield the one that should change after the event to "You have clicked button 1", and last but not least the button graphic.

I was working on a project with flexmojos 3.9 and Flex 4.0. I decided to upgrafe my version of the flex SDK to 4.5 but I have the followin problems:
1- Maven Message: [FATAL ERROR] org.sonatype.flexmojos.optimizer.OptimizerMojo#execute() caused a linkage error (java.lang.NoSuchMethodError) and may be out-of-date. Check the realms

I have some problems using dynamic textfields, spent hours to get it fixed but nothing works. Here's the problem. I've created dynamic textfields where visitors can enter their data, like name, address, comment and so on. My website appears on fullscreen when the web address' typed in. When it's in this fullscreenmode, I'm not able to type in any data in this textfield. When I leave the fullscreenmode I am able to type in my data. Also I've created a dynamic textfield, which loads this sent data from an external database. Now I want to add a scrollbar to this textfield, so all the messages that doesn't fit in the field will be visible. I've tried to create my own, without success, even the simple one in the componentspanel doesn't work.

I'm getting occasional ConcurrencyError faults when using HTTPService in Flex 3. I have four HTTPService objects, all configured with concurrency=single. I'm not sure though how to continue to diagnose, as I don't see in the FaultEvent what service object caused the issue, and I can't easily reproduce it on-demand.
One feature of my app is that I am also using a URLRequest to load a sound shortly after receiving a result from one of the HTTPService calls. Could this be related to the concurrency error?
The fault looks like this:

After upgrading the Flex SDK from 3.1 to any newer version of the SDK and trying to compile an existing project, the following error appears in the Problems pane:
Description: { expected Resource: (shows project name, not a specific file) Location: line 15
Any ideas how to solve this or where to start the bug hunt?
It looks like the problem is in the ...sdks/3.3.0/frameworks/libs/player/10/playerglobal.swc file, but I'm certainly not sure.

I have a modal Flex dialog and want to make the background not of the window itself, but the semitransparent modal indicator transparent. (Yes I tried to convince the client they don't want to do this, but apparently they really want to do it). I have an area graph and I'm looking to have the data points to be shown. I have a CircleItemRenderer, but this shows all of the datapoints in the default stroke and fill. 1) How do I customize the display of my CircleItemRenderer? (instead of it having an orange fill, how can I change the color?
2) How can I decide to show the node for specific data points but not for others? For example, in my .XML file that imports the data for the graph, I may have a variable show_data_point which is true or false.

I have a problem with inline components. I want to reach an inline component from another one.. From the first component, i want to change "enable" value of the linkbutton named "Add" which is in second component. Altough i gave "id" and "className" to second one, i could reach neither it nor its elements.. is there a way to do this?
*in first component there is a text input in "CodedDescriptionItemEditor" component. I want to validate it and according to validation enable the button that i mentioned above..These all are in a datagrid by the way.
