Mar 3, 2010Why is it that now if I've got an alpha 0 movie clip on a layer and set the layer to outline, I can't see the movie clip? Outline mode used to ignore alpha!

Mar 17, 2010have trouble with the Alpha slider (Color Effect>Alpha) not going all the way to 0% or 100%? A lot of the time, I can only get up to 99% or down to 1%, even if I manually enter values into the textbox accompanying the slider. Some of the time, it will not even take a manual entry in the textbox. For example, if the slider is set at 65%, I can enter 0%, and it will just go right back to 65%.

Sep 10, 2009I have a Flash file someone made for me 6 months ago. Currently, I needed to update an image in Flash and when I run a test, the old image always shows up. Mar 6, 2009I have a movie clip button with a dynamic text field inside. I am loading the mc dynamically to the stage. In Full_Screen mode static buttons including the full screen button work without a problem, but the dynamic button event does not trigger when clicked. In this simplified code belwo the dynamic button when clicked should change its message to "You have clicked button 1". This works in normal mode, but not in Full screen.I tried btn_cuePt_1.enabled= true; but without success.
Does it have something to do with not using the fullscreen events?

Structure of my button is: Think of it as three layers inside a movie_clip. I used an empty button on the top layer so I would get a pointer cursor, I used a dynamic textfield the one that should change after the event to "You have clicked button 1", and last but not least the button graphic.

Nov 3, 2010I have some problems using dynamic textfields, spent hours to get it fixed but nothing works. Here's the problem. I've created dynamic textfields where visitors can enter their data, like name, address, comment and so on. My website appears on fullscreen when the web address' typed in. When it's in this fullscreenmode, I'm not able to type in any data in this textfield. When I leave the fullscreenmode I am able to type in my data. Also I've created a dynamic textfield, which loads this sent data from an external database. Now I want to add a scrollbar to this textfield, so all the messages that doesn't fit in the field will be visible. I've tried to create my own, without success, even the simple one in the componentspanel doesn't work.

Jan 13, 2012In my Flash Builder (Flex) 4.6 app, I just noticed for some reason all my "s:Window" components will not allow me to click and select anything in design mode in flash builder!
My other non-window type components are fine - I can open a TitleWindow or Group for example and click on the various fields and labels no problem.
In my Window components, I can select an item in the 'outline' window, but not using the mouse and actually clicking on the component in the visual design window. When I click in there, it looks like it's selecting the actual 'window' box. Almost like it needs to be 'sent to back' or something.

Oct 4, 2011I run a school lab with a few users on each machine. One students came up with a problem. She is always in outline view, even when the outline button in the layers panels is not punched. When I log in to the same machine, I do not have the problem. I assume the problem is in the user preferences file. We are on Windows 7. I went into AppData and deleted what I thought was the preferences file, but it continues to return. Anyone have any ideas why I can't get her out of outline view? Adobe Flash CS5

Mar 19, 2010I was using CS3 and Flash 8 (macromedia).I am working on a file that was created in maybe flash cs3 or perhaps flash 8, from another developer.It shows tweens on the time line.The developer created fade tweens, with names like "Transform 1" etc.The fades are on symbols (the developer converted jpegs to a symbols)from 100 percent to 0 percent alpha.I can see the fade go from 100 to 0, but I am unable to see the "alpha" properties when I select the symbol or the tween in the timeline.The tween is displayed in the timeline as a line with an arrowhead at the keyframe when the visibility goes to zero.I do not seem to be able to see the properties for the tween, i.e. 100 in keyframe 1, to 0 in keyframe 20.No information shows in the CS4 "Motion Editor".
I created a tween in a layer that I added, and it seems that CS4 no longer show the lines with arrowheads, but uses a different color for the tween range.And I get the motion properties in the "Motion Editor".I am sure it is pilot error here.Since I just installed CS4, etc.How can I view tween properties, like alpha on a symbol created in an earlier version of Flash?

Sep 10, 2010I have a M4V video file embedded in a Flash movie, and I need to play the Flash movie at full screen using the Macintosh Projector format. When the Flash file is done in Actionscript 2, everything appears as it should, but if the Flash file is done in Actionscript 3 (which this particular needs, since it uses armatures), then the video fills up the whole screen and hides everything else. I figured out how to prevent the video from scaling to fit the screen (set the scaleMode parameter to "noScale"), but it still shows the video in the center of a black screen. How can I get it to stop messing with the file and just play the @#$! video where I put it?

Jun 15, 2010I have a hidden swf which needs to run in full framerate. Although it is documented that the "sleep mode" due to which flash player goes into 4fps is only for mobile devices. I see that when my swf is not displayed (hidden or in a different tab", I can only get events in multiples of 250ms. Is there a way I can disable this feature for my swf? I can see that this is a great feature, but I just need to disable this for my app.

Nov 29, 2010I have downloaded the trial version of Adobe Executive Suite CS5. In the Flash Professional CS5 program I am trying to do a drawing with the pencil tool. In the old version of Flash that I have (4.0) if I draw two lines that overlap, I can delete the line past the point where they cross. In this version I can't do that.It treats each line I draw as a separate item and won't combine them. I notice the properties panel says I am in Object mode which would be the reason. However I can't get it to go to merge mode, which is supposed to be the default.Is this because it's the trial version and not all features work in that version?
