Flex :: Unable To Select Anything In A Spark Window Component In Design Mode

In my Flash Builder (Flex) 4.6 app, I just noticed for some reason all my "s:Window" components will not allow me to click and select anything in design mode in flash builder!
My other non-window type components are fine - I can open a TitleWindow or Group for example and click on the various fields and labels no problem.
In my Window components, I can select an item in the 'outline' window, but not using the mouse and actually clicking on the component in the visual design window. When I click in there, it looks like it's selecting the actual 'window' box. Almost like it needs to be 'sent to back' or something.

I have a spark List defined as:
<s:List id="symbolList" dataProvider="{symbolListCollection}" change="symbolNameChangeHandler(event)"></s:List>
With the change handler defined like this:

and symbolListCollection as an ArrayList filled with Strings.
At first, the change event works fine, and I get what I expect.
However, if I Ctrl-click on the selected item, to de-select it, i am unable to ever select an item again.
When I click on something to try to select it, the change event DOES fire, however, the ItemChangeEvent has both oldIndex and newIndex set to -1

I have a list component on the stage of CS4 called ans1Sec2 (this is for a test) I am able to load the list dynamically and when the user clicks on one of the list items it highlights. What I need is the ability to save that item they selected so when they go back to that question (review mode) the answer they selected is highlighted. I am able to get the evt.target.selectedItem.data and save that into a var, but how do I get that item and make it selected on the list component when they are in review mode?

If I have a component that has some states defined, is there a way to make changes in design mode but not have it tied to a particular state? For example, if I have state1 and state2, any changes in design mode will be based on state1 or state2 (i.e. width.state1). I understand this is the direction Flex is going in but I'm transitioning from a Flex 3 app and right now I just want to make the change to width and not width.state1.

I have created a style in which i am defining a font family.When i apply this style to label it reflects the font were as there is no change when it is applied to a spark button.I Tried various way to Apply font style but it doesn't work.Other properties work fine except font family. Even i tried creating skin class and set the font family style of label in it. While previewing the skin i can see the changes but when i apply it to buttonApproach 1

We are migrating our Flex-3.2 application to Flex 4.1, mainly to take advantage of the new text flow/engine features. In a first step we decided to go with compiling for MX-only and in Flex-3-compatibility mode.

Now do the same in Flex 3 and you'll see both events fire.Apparently, this is a bug. Might be possible to work around this but certainly decreases my level or trust substantially.2) Dialogs/popups show all content mirrored.A bug as well. Easy to work around, but how could something that obvious slip?

I have a flash panorama that has hotspot links to pop-up windows that contain more information about the object. Right now if you are in fullscreen mode and click a hotspot you are automatically kicked out of fullscreen mode and the pop-up then opens. Is it possible to have the pop-up open and have focus while in the background the panorama is still in fullscreen mode?

Do you know how if you drag an <mx:Label> or <s:Label> component into your Flex project, when you go to design mode you get this panel on the right to set its properties like text etc.
I have a custom component that I can call with actionscript, or with mxml like this:
<comps:TheComp field1="OK" field2="Yes" />
The component takes this input and uses it for its internal operation

When I go to design mode, I can see the component under custom components, I can drag it to the stage and see it, but can't set its values field1 and field visually on the right like a normal <s:Label> or <mx:Label> would have. how I can add that? Do I need to make it inherit something or anything else

I am exporting an SWC via Flash Professional CS5 version 11.0.0.485 with the latest Flex Component Kit (2.0.0) installed in the Extension Manager. In Symbol properties, I'm Exporting for Actionscript in Frame 1 with the Class name equal to the Symbol name.
I've imported the SWC into Flash Builder 4.6 with all the different available SDKs.
With all of them I get an error in Design Mode
"SWC File Failed to load. Any component dependent on this SWC will not be displayed in the design mode."
If I instantiate the component via the Source it runs ok and in the browser I see the component.
I know I could just say "whatever, I don't need Design mode" but I'd like to know what is happening.
Any ideas?

is there a common way to disable a tab of a spark tabbar component in flex 4? with the mx tabnavigator component you can just disable the content corresponding to the tab and the tab is also disabled then. but doing this with the spark tab bar component disables just the content not the tab.[code]

I have a Flex form made up mostly of MX components. Due to limitations with the MX mx.controls.ComboBox, I'd like to use the Spark control, spark. components.ComboBox. This works, except the Spark ComboBox sticks out visually because it doesn't use the Halo theme.Is there a way to have the Spark ComboBox use the Halo theme?

have been working on an air app for quite some time and in one of my mx:lists i have a custom renderer written in pure AS (no mxml). it extends the listitemrenderer mx componenet. in it i have overrode the createChildren() function to add some children of my own.
now, fort right-to-left text i want in this itemrenderer, i would like to add a spark:TextArea component in this createChildren() function
is there a way to do so?

I have a spark RichText that I want to change his color according with the value on text property.
Negative values get red, positives blue...
When I declare the component, I call a method to set up the css style, but when the value changes, the color is not updated.

I've got a custom component (quite complex so I can't post any code here, although that shouldn't matter), that I can add to a view. When the component is deleted from the view or the view is switched I call my own dispose method which removes remaining eventListeners and kills some references so that the component can eventually be nulled and collected by the GC.
All that works perfectly fine until I add a Spark TextInput to the MXML part of the component (it took me hours to find out what is preventing the component to be collected!), so I recon that the TextInput somehow automatically adds some eventListeners.
My question is what are these listeners, or is there anything else I haven't thought of?

There are lots of examples of how to create skinnable components in AS3 using the new Spark component architecture, however I've yet to find any such examples using MXML.What I'm mainly referring to is defining the skin parts and skin states. It seems as though the SkinPart metadata is supposed to be associated with properties and as such can't be used in MXML, is this correct?
