Jan 25, 2010I am encountering a bizarre Flex 3.4 issue. I have a class that acts a dataprovider to my entire application named "DataProvider.as":

In an mxml form, "Settings.mxml" I have a checkbox control which is bound to the email_enable variable of my dataprovider class:

change="onChange()"/>
All is well as far as getting the value, if I set the variable in my dataprovider to either true or false, the checkbox reflects this change; however, if I click on the checkbox and change it's value, the dataprovider variable never reflects the change.

Nov 10, 2010I would like the native Flex checkBox to change state only, when the box is clicked. If user clicks the label the state shouldn't change.
The click event cannot be muted as it is utilized in parenting components.
how to obtain such functionality? How to detect, that user has clicked the label?

Feb 3, 2010Because the color of the background image in my application is very dark, and the Alpha is very low, when I hover my mouse over a checkbox, the text is scarcely visible. I've scoured the interwebz in vain for what property to set, either at design-time or in the MouseOver event for the checkbox and just can't figure out what property or setStyle property to alter to be able to control the color of the checkbox text when the mouse pointer is hovering over it.

Jan 27, 2011I created a somewhat custom Spark button by doing the File > New > MXML skin and basing it on spark.components.button. The problem is that I need to add an extra text field to the button component and dynamically change that text...but of course, the property isn't recognized on a Spark Button.
Is there a simple way to add this field to my custom button skin & its property so it can be addressed? If not, is there a simple way to take what I've done and just extend the Spark Button? I can't seem to find any examples that show how to do it without writing it all up in ActionScript.

I currently have the checkbox nested within two movieclips and need it to display the block of text upon click event in a dynamic text field that is found on the main timeline in its own layer. Jun 6, 2003I have a very general requirement that seemed very simple: Step 1: Load a new external JPEG image into a MC with a string var encoding a string caption in the URL link (VALUE="../fadeTest.swf?someTextVar=TestCaption") within the EMBED / OBJECT sections. I know how to do this and it semed to work fine. STEP2: When the JPEG is loaded I would like the substituted Text to Fade In over the JPEG. The JPEG should also fade in before the Text. The fade rate should be programmable.
