Flex :: Making An ItemRender Renderer With Reziable Drag Handles?
Aug 5, 2011
I would like to make an item renderer that can be resized by the user the idea behind that is I am making a canvas which users can layout reports on and in that I would like them to be able to rezise items.
I'm animating some text, I enlarge it by using free transform tool and drag the handles until my text covers the screen. Problem: the text is so large that the left and right drag handles disappear from the stage, I can only resize using the middle handles and this is not constraining my text the way I want it.
The app allows the user to drag images from a libray onto a grid and position the elements within the grid. The user can also drag textfields which can be edited and resized. The grid needs to have some sort of snap-to, to make it easier for the user to line up the elements. And then I need to create resize handles around both the editable text fields and the other mc's. Has anyone seen a tutorial or can anyone help me with?
1. Drag and drop with a snap to grid
2. Resize handles for mc's, and inparticular textfields
In the end, I need to be able to track all of the x and y's of the elements on stage and then be able to rebuild their layout when it is loaded in a subsequent session. I'm sure this is going to be difficult.
I have a datagrid with one datagridcolumn in it. Without a custom itemrenderer I can use a datatipfunction for showing a custom datatip but now I want to have a custom item render for colouring the rows differently. Therefore I extended a label and changed the data method but now my datatipfunction does not work anymore.
We know already Datagrid defult sorting , when we click on header of dategrid then automatically sorting records well . But how can we sort within inline itemreander linkfield label in datagrid . In project defult sorting properly work in datagrid but linked field column only not sorting ? Is it any way to sort functionality?
In Flex 4 (beta 2), I have a list control populated from an XMLListCollection. What I would like to do is when an item is selected in the list, use a custom item renderer on the selected item as well as the item that appears just prior to the selected item in the list.
I am using a spark list control, but I am open to alternate components if the solution makes sense. Here is the strucutre of the xml used to populate the XMLListCollection
I have one list, which the item render it`s like this:link. But now I need to enable or disable the button delete depends the view state which my List is inside. This is my view(which contains the list):
I have a Flex List which is databound to a Array. My problem is that when I reorder the List using the built in dragMoveEnabled, the values are reset to the original values.I assume I need to somehow do a two-way databinding but I am not sure how.
How do I differentiate between a data provider update and a itemrender being recycled when using a custom itemrenderer in a DataGroup?I have overridden the set data function of the custom item renderer, but I have found that on making a change to the ArrayCollection used as the DataProvider some of the item renderers are not assigned the same object they had before the update. This has made it almost impossible for me to distinguish between a data update and an itemrender being recycled. Also, the data never seems to get set to a value = null, so that seems to be out as well.
I have a Flex application which references a separate MXML file as a template for a custom component. I create instances of the component dynamically several times in my program, but I need to get a handle that will allow me to modify that instance of the component as desired. I pass specific information to this component on instantiation using bindable public variables in the component's MXML file. I add it to my main program using addChild().
I want to update the component's progressbar as necessary and I want to remove it from the box to which I addChild'd it. What's the easiest/best way to get a variable that will give me predictable access to each component so I can easily manipulate the components as necessary? Some research suggests creationComplete, but I decided it was faster to just ask than to go through lots of different experiments and come up blank.
ow do you display HTML formatted text in a Spark custom item renderer (Actionscript)?
Sample Code:
The html content in item.post_content displays as plain text in the IconItemRenderer messageFunction snippet below (which is just the default generated code for Icon Item renderer):
Anyone know how to change a single instance of an item renderer for a Flex tree item at runtime? To reiterate, I'm not trying to change the entire tree's item renderer like this:tree.itemRenderer = new ClassFactory(ItemRenderer2);I'm trying to change the item renderer of a single tree item like this (the following code does not work):tree.selectedItem.itemRenderer = new ClassFactory(ItemRenderer2);To put it more simply, does anyone know how to reference an instance of an item renderer and set it to a new item renderer class? I've tried using the Tree's itemToItemRenderer() method with no success.
I have a page (below) that has a datagrid that lists "item"'s returned from an XML file (below) and when it loads it created a page in the viewstack for each item it finds (working) it also renders a page (below) inside each panel but i am having issues passing the data. Each page renders and loads but with the FIRST result of the XML data instead of each page having its own data they all have the same as the first page.
I need to develop Advanced Datagrid like the below attached image. So I had developed the Grid with some columns but do not know how to rendering the image in the result part of the grid. how to rendering the images in the result part.
my renderer contains a canvas in it, i add some title-window, every time i see my tree previously added Title-Windows are visible, i want to access each n every item in tree and remove previosly added all windows from the rendere. how access all the item renderer in AS3 ?
I have prepared a simple test case for a PopUpButton opening a TileList with black and red entries and it mostly works, but has 2 annoyances. I've searched a lot, tried several variants (added [Bindable] members in my renderer; added color member to the bids array; created my public override set data() method; ...) and has been getting some answers too, but they are way too general.
1) Scrolling "tl2" right-left doesn't work well: the entries are displayed in a mix of red and black. I know the TileList reuses itemRenderer, but how do I fix the problem?
2) In debug-mode I get numerous warnings: warning: unable to bind to property 'label' on class 'Object' (class is not an IEventDispatcher)
How do I wordwrap in a spark list w/ an itemrenderer? This posting at[URL] works 100% but when I try to set a separate item renderer, I can't get the word wrapping...instead, I get an ugly horizontal scroll bar. HEre is my mxml:
I've gotten a checkbox header renderer to work well with flat DPs, but a hierarchical collection view is another story. On click, I want it to select all checkboxes in a given column. Here is my code:
Now when i click Rename a popUp should be shown like
OldName : Parent1(Text Input showning present Name) Enter New Name: Parent1NewName(Text Input for entering New name) OK | CANCEL Buttons
Afetr Entering the new name, click OK,popup should be closed and need to get the value in the treeItemRenderer.
I have the logic to rename the Parent1 in TreeItemRenderer and also I m able to get the Parent1 in the popup OldName TextInput. But after entering the new name i m not able to get that new name in the TreeItemRenderer.
However, even though I change the text in txtValue1 or txtValue2, those are not actually changed in the object inside the ArrayCollection.
myFirstValue and mySecondValue are decorated with the [Bindable] tag.
My understanding is that if the text property is set to be bound a certain property, the changes should be automatically applied.
So the HACK (or so I think) that I use is to listen to the focusOut event of each textbox, and access the parent data provider and set the the values manually.
Is it a bad idea to inject data into an itemrenderer. The reason I ask this is because the state of each item is dependent on different changing data sources. So the original data is used to just display a new item, but there could be two to three other data collections that would be needed to determine the item's behavior. Is there a better way to do this? Should I be creating a custom DataGroup with the other data sources as properties on this custom container and then reference the data sources from the itemrenderer to the parent?
