Recently downloaded Powerflash (FDT) to compare with Flash Builder, but it doesn't seem to cleverly colour the MXML code, nor provide me with predictive text. Is that only for action script files?

I would like to be able to specify my own custom properties for the component as well as access the existing public subcomponent properties via MXML. I have 6 variables that load into 6 different dynamic text boxes. They all load fine when I load them, but only the first one updates after 6 seconds. I have them all set to update after 6 seconds. Here is the code that is working fine followed by the code that isn't. I'm using CS5.5

I have a text input box on a site i'm currently building. Problem is, when testing it, some letters don't register as being pressed (and no, its not my keyboard before you ask hehe).
The letters which don't show up are, "B,C,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,Q,T,U,V,X,Y,Z". In fact, the only letters that are recognized and displayed when I type into it are: "A,D,O,P,R,S,W".
im having a problem with my input text fields on my site. I have a contact form swf loading into my main swf and for some reason when its loaded in the text fields arent selectable. when i test the form swf by itself it works fine.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to compile an SWC file and everything works great until the part where it needs to add components, none of them added added to the .swc file at all.
The original file should be somewhere around 211 KB and when i compile it its only 1.64 KB, after unpacking the .swc and then the .swf inside it i can see that there is no components added at all.
BTW some components showing some errors but i dont think its a reason to not include ALL the components because the errors are like:

What could the problem be? ask me if you need some future info cause i don't really know what to include in here cause there is no code it's only a project with a library.
A Flex components values are initlized by init methord. In an application flow, How to refresh a mxml component data value ; as init is callled at the start up it self only.
eg. of mxml componet may be as simple as button label or text as complex as repeater whose data provider is a web service ( means a fresh quesy should be made to pull the data and refresh the dataprovider of repeater )
suppose i have 3 buttons(for example say, productin, marketing, sales ) on my main.mxml..once i click on one button it should take me to abc.mxml page with production data, once again if i click on second button it should take me to the same abc.mxml but with marketing data. same as for 3rd button also, how can i achieve this ?

I've been trying to create a custom mxml component that extends another custom mxml component (i.e.MyMXMLComponent -> BaseMXMLComponent -> Group). I've been reading that trying to add visual children to MyMXMLComponent caused error with Flex 3 but that's no longer the case with Flex 4.
What I want to know is whether this is a supported/fixed/documented feature of Flex 4? or just some undefined behavior in Flex 4 that may get changed with future updates?
if this is supported and documented feature, does anyone have link pointing to adobe document stating it as such?
This is a project I'm working on for a simple demo tutorial application in Flex. I am using mxml pages. You can see to the left that I will have my main application and then other mxml files (In the Examples Package) as the examples that will be loaded into the main application mxml. How can I dynamically pull the value from the object in the list to load the child mxml file into the container that I have further down in the application?

I'm doing something wrong but I have a textarea where I've specified textAlign = center and if I type in text with several trailing spaces, it doesn't count the spaces towards centering the text. If I add another character to the text (after all the spaces) it then all of a sudden centers the line, is this a bug, can anybody think of a good solution?
To replicate:
-Create a textArea
-Set textAlign=center
Run the application and type in something like 'FOOBAR' followed by 10 spaces, note that it centers FOOBAR but stops centering the text while you're typing the spaces Now type another string like 'WTF', now it'll all of a sudden center the whole line.

I have a custom component that has a slider and textinput and their value/text properties are bound together.
