However this displays the datagrid with two rows, the first row has 1 in the Series column and then the two files crammed into the second cell in the same row. The second row is the same but has the number 2 in the Series column and the two series #2 files crammed into the cell next to it.If i do not use the nested data class i can pull the files using Series.file instead and all 4 of the files list correctly, however i do not get the Series number for each...
I have an embedded image asset (with a scale9 grid), and I'm trying to get the bitmapdata when it's resized, but I can't seem to do this without adding it to the display list.
How do i add to a display list thats already has items on it?
this is what I have already
ActionScript Code: public function LotteryDraw() { // get the display list positions for each MC and text field... var startButton = this.getChildAt(0);
I'm creating a facebook application in flex. I'm actually working on the friends component that shows your friends who are using the application. now, each friend has a profile image.
I created the component using a s:List element.
In the Skin Class of the element i configured the requestedColumnCount to 3, which means it shows 3 friends. i added buttons to scroll left and right in the list.
Whenever I scroll to see a different friend, for a half of a second i see no image because the List component is loading the image in order to view it.
is there a way to make the list preload all the elements so i won't have this kind of problem ?
I want to have a Mouse Over to use on my list, so when I mouse over an Item on the list, it displays a picture. It's to use on my Chapter Select page of my flash game.
I have a MovieClip called item with the same linkage set and my first task is to display 10 of these items on the stage nested inside a movieclip called MainItem. I have dragged MainItem to the stage and have the following for loop:
I'm using flex 4.1 to write an application. i read in the documents that has the rowCount property to set how many items to display. the does not have that property. how can I limit the list to display 3 items ?
The 'recommendations' dataProvider is an ArrayCollection of String, which are generally sentences about as long as this one. By setting the variableRowHeight and wordWrap properties as shown, if a sentence is too long to fit on a single line, everything works fine- the row expands and the messages show on two lines, or occasionally three.
The space allocated for this panel within the entire canvas means if the total text size of 'recommendations' exceeds six lines, I need for the entire list scroll. This is also working just fine. The trouble is when using the mouse wheel to do the scrolling- Flex scrolls both the entire list and the single item where the mouse is hovering. Often this results in only the second half of a sentence being visible. Non-programmer friends I have asked to look at this noticed this, and tell me it as a problem. If a user does not notice the dual scrolling, and sees only a fragment of a sentence, it will be perceived as an error in the application.
This is probably one of several ways to do this..."myData" is an array that contains information displayed in "myDataGrid". "toBeMoved" is a variable containing, um, the item to be moved.
btn_up.onRelease = function() { // this is a button to move items UP in the list
whoseSelected = myDataGrid.selectedIndex; // gets the index # for the selected row/item if (whoseSelected > 0) { // makes sure you dont have the already top item selected toBeMoved = myData[myDataGrid.selectedIndex][code]...
I have a data grid and there's a method attached to clicking on any item in a row of the grid.Now, some of the items in the table row are also buttons. Each of these are associated with a different action.We only want one of these actions to be performed.[code]we have currently a member variable to track which selection was made and to ignore the the contents of the other method (the else portion of the method resets this value).Now, if the methods just happen to execute in a different order (or at the same time), the behavior will be unpredictable.Is the member variable flag the way to do this (it smells so bad)?
I have a Flex list and a custom ItemRenderer. I'd like to be able to have some items in the list use a different ItemRenderer (say, depending on the class of the item). Is this possible?
How do I identify all the display objects in the display list in ActionScript, bellow the one that I have clicked? All the other objects are shadowed by the first one. What if other objects have visible parameter as hidden?
No matter what I do, these buttons have a vertical gap inbetween them. I have tried everything from setting the "vertical-gap" property to negative and positive numbers as well as changing the padding-bottom and padding-top on them. I want the buttons to be right up against eachother vertically. I have also tried "button-height" and padding on the List component...still nothing. How do I control this?
Is there any way to get the sum of items based on some filters from sharepoint list? I was trying to access the GetListItems method. But this returns all the items in the list. That makes the data heavy. My requirement is to get only the sum of items. For example items created in a specific year.I am trying to populate a chart in flex from the sharepoint list. Accessing all the items and then calculating the sum in flex will not work always where the list contains more items.
In Flex 4 I have a list where every product in it is rendered through an ItemRenderer. Now, when I filter the list I want to fadeout the products that are removed. I can't add the fadeout effect to the hideEffect of the item renderer since renderers are being reused. Anyone a valid (easy) solution on how the fadeout the products correctly.
I'm sure someone must have accomplished this before, but I couldn't find any article on this.
How can we scroll a List control (with uses an itemrenderer) to the next item, when the user tabs from the current item to the next?
I know that we can use scrollToIndex(i), but how do we notify the List that the itemrenderer has moved to the next index? I couldn't find any such event.
i am using an itemRenderer in mx:list, it has many text fields and combos, i use this item renderer to edit items in array collection, each item in the arrayCollection is of type Action which comes from BlazeDS remoting as a valueObject.my problem is when i add new item of type Action to the list dataProvider (ArrayCollection) by this code
myList.dataProvider.addItem(new Action());
the new item tooks the same data from its previous item.
I have a s:List where I've defined my own itemRenderer, and would like to insert a horizontal line separating items, similar to the way the mx:LinkBar works. I don't want to have a line at the top or bottom of the list, so I can't just include an upper or lower border in the itemRenderer. I was hoping the itemRenderer could be made aware of its index in the list, but I don't see how.
[code]I want to extend the list with hyperlinks. For example in every node I should have an href attribute also. Then I need to redirect users to the selected item. I know Flash has the URLRequest class. The little problem I have now is to get the selected item. It propably is because of the dataprovider is xml and I haven't done the correct casting.
I have a Spark.List with several items ("folders") each containing an ArrayList of files inside, when I select one of these "folders" it should display the list of "files" on another Spark.List. Its working right now by doing this: private function onFolderChange (event:*):void { var list:List = event.currentTarget as List; if (list.selectedIndex != -1) { currentFolder = null; currentFolder = list.selectedItem; fileListDataProvider = currentFolder.files; fileList.selectedIndex = -1; }}
The problem is that when the "file" thumbnails cover more then the List viewport and a scroll is needed sometimes by changing from a "folder" to another "folder" the file List loses files. For example lets say there is a "Folder 1" with 30 "files" in it (10 visible and 20 hidden by the scroller) and "Folder 2" has 5 "files" (all visible), if I switch back and forth between "folders" sometimes it will display everything right. Sometimes it will display a scroll on "Folder 2" when there is no need and sometimes it will only display a few (5 or 10) "files" in "Folder 1" even though it has 30. Something is wrong with the fileList, its updating its items but not really updating well. I've tried setting the itemRenderer to null and reapplying, setting the dataProvider to null and reapplying, doing validateNow().
I just started using Flash Builder 4 (yesterday infact).
I have two lists and a canvas. When dropping a list item onto the canvas, i want to trace what item it is (the label and data) and which list it came from. From there, i want to add an image to the canvas according to the dropped item.
Here's my current code
private function componentDragEnterHandler(event:DragEvent):void { DragManager.acceptDragDrop(Canvas(event.currentTarget)); DragManager.showFeedback( DragManager.COPY ); }
a List using the above ArrayCollection as it's dataprovider, and virtualLayout=true;
a custom ItemRenderer that shows a label with:
a) the number
b) an y position depending on the number AND the highest number visible
In another words, if I have 10 numbers in the AC, and only 5 appear on the screen, the y position of those 5 will depend on the value of the maximum number for those 5. When the user scrolls, of course those 5 elements change so the position of the label in item renderers will change.
1) How can I get the list of items that are "currently" visible?
2) Which event/method to override will help me know that the List was scrolled/the visible items changed?
