Flex :: Spark Border Only On 3 Sides Of Button?

I have a skin class whose host component is a Toggle Button. I need to be able to add a border around it but only on the top, left, and right sides, As I understand it you have to the: <s:Line> component. So I added:
<s:Line left="0" top="0" right="0">
<s:stroke>
<s:LinearGradientStroke rotation="180" weight="2" caps="square">[code].....
This worked for the top line , But I can't seem to get the left and right lines. I tried: this for the left side line, but it did not work (no line showed up):
<s:Line left="0" top="0">
<s:stroke>
<s:LinearGradientStroke rotation="90" weight="2" caps="square">[code]....
How can I achieve the 3 Lines around the button?

Is there a way to easily specify on which sides a border is drawn for Flex 4's Spark BorderContainer?[URL]But that uses MX styling which seems like a hack. Is there a better or 'correct' way without having to build a skin? It seems incredibly silly to build a skin for a 'Bordered' component when this is a very common use case.

I have a custom skin applied to a Flex 4 spark datagrid. One really annoying issue I am having is finding the ability to override or change the selected row border color. I was able to set the selectionColor just fine but the border is still the default light blue color. I need it to be yellow.
Anyone know where I can find this style or override this border that is being set when selection happens within the skin itself.

I am facing some problems with publishing of flash file. After publishing at HTMl; it shows white border at all sides of document. My document size is Width :- 1280 Height : 650. It is adding border on all sides border at top and bottom are greater than that of Left and Right. I have tried it many ways, altered my flash setting as well but no use. I am really stumped due to this. To my surprise at SWF file it showing perfect match and fit exactly into window (not showing any borders like HTML) I dont know exactly from where it is getting white borders. I've just started playing about with skinning and am finding it harder than anything else I've come across in Flex 4 Mobile. It needs to be done in actionscript as I am trying to skin a flex mobile button. Here is what I have so far: (It does very little, only changes the background color)

I have created a style in which i am defining a font family.When i apply this style to label it reflects the font were as there is no change when it is applied to a spark button.I Tried various way to Apply font style but it doesn't work.Other properties work fine except font family. Even i tried creating skin class and set the font family style of label in it. While previewing the skin i can see the changes but when i apply it to buttonApproach 1

Anyone missed the old simple method for skinning a simple button?
CODE:
The problem im having is that, this method of creating a simple button with skin is being phased out : Infact it is no longer supported in flex 4.5 mobile projects.
So the question: Is there a simple way to perform this, with spark buttons (which is suppose to be the new way to go). As simple as possible.
Basically i only need a button with 2 images : down/over & up. And i want to keep the code as simple as possible : The new skinning methods, seems to really adds way too much lines for something that used to be as simple as the example above.

I'm having issues with implementing a flex button componentI have applied a CSS style to button and set border-color to, say #555555.So far, it works as expected.Then, when my application is resized, the border of the button component becomes blurred and its width automatically changes from 1 pixel to 2 pixels, which doesn't look very well.hen I maximize the app again, after the border is blurred, the buttons' border becomes 1 pixel and looks nice.

The class 'Button' in package mx.controls has the style 'paddingLeft' and 'paddingRight'. But now I don't want to use this old Halo theme anymore, I'm moving everything to Spark.
However, I can't find these padding styles in spark.components.Button, and the documentation [URL] doesn't show that spark Button has those styles.

I am working on an custom container and I need a border for this container. I have a 15x15 image that I am creating a 9-slice border skin with. The issue that I am having is that the border skin does not appear the way that I had hoped it would.
Here is a ss of the skin in place.
Ideally I should have a transparent box with a 5 pixel border around it.

In Flex 4, I have a canvas that I'd like to set border-width on via css. I can set the border color and border style, but the border width remains 1 pixel wide no matter what.

I am working on a drag and drop feature for the sparkScroller. This is sort of how my layout looks:

So when you hold your finger over a row in the items Scroller for more than a 30 seconds, the touchView becomes visible so does the dummyRow. The dummyRow gets populated to look like the row which you held your finger over.
So the touchView has the event handlers for moving your fingers and places the dummyRow where your finger is. The problem I am having is even though the touchView is reacting to my move events, the scroller still keeps reacting to my move events as well even though it's a sub layer. Because I started on the scroller it still keeps track!
How can I remove focus / tracking from the scroller?

I've skinned an hSlider's thumb with an image. But the image is pixelated, as though it's been forced to resize.It's just a pretty circle with a radius of 30 px.The other thing that happens is that instead of the new button being cleanly bisected by the track, it is just below the track, tangential to it. So now I have to reposition it by modifying its y value in SliderThumbSkin.mxml? And (presumably because its registration point is at upper left) when I slide it all the way to the right, it goes right off the end of the track until its left edge is at the track's right edge. This might also mess up calculations for the hSlider.value property.
You'd think you could just apply the skin and it would replace the button, but seems that both its position and size are being wrongly manipulated.Is the thumb's size automatically reset or resized somewhere? Is there a way to do this correctly and cleanly?
