Jan 13, 2012I'm new to Flex/AS3. I've attached an example line chart below. I want to know if this type of graph can be created using the standard line-series chart available in Flex (Flash Builder 4.6), or whether there's something drawn below that is non-standard and would therefore require some rather involved customization. The key features are:
-Different line styles and colors (dashed, dot-dash, solid, thick, thin, opacity)
-Placement of units (y-axis "seconds" and x-axis "Hz")
-x-axis zoom/pan control bar below graph (move knobs in and out to set x-axis min and max plotted values)
-Log x-axis scale, linear y-axis scale
-Data Tip (or, some call it tool tip, not shown below)
-SI units for x- and y-axis tick labels.
My guess is that everything should be pretty standard to accomplish using Adobe's built-in charting (with the possible exception of item 6, see below). Is that a good assumption?I'm particularly concerned about the x- and y-axis tick labels (item 6). For example, the x-axis tick marks as a number would be:1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000, 100000, 1000000, 10000000 but they need to be replaced with SI units, where k=1000, and M=1000000, so the corresponding marks would be (replacing the numbers above with the strings below)"1", "10", "100", "1k", "10k", "1M", "10M".The same goes for the y-axis, where p represents 1e-12, and n represents 1e-9.I can create an algorithm that accepts a number and outputs a string to do the SI unit conversion. But given that, is there a way to easily manage the tick mark labels to replace the default numbers with such strings?
Flash :: Get A Bytearray From File Stream In Adobe AIR?
May 27, 2010I read limited (small - 15 - 500 mb files). I need to be able to put all file bytes into one single bytearray. So I have a function:

But it does not work=( - gives me Error: Error #2030: End of file was encountered.
How to get a full bytearray from stream to use it as normal bytearray?
Adobe Flash To Play RTSP Stream?
Dec 6, 2010I have a home made RTSP server that streams video to QuickTime clients. Now, I need to support Flash Player clients, because QuickTime needs some configuration to work on Windows, and also there is no implementation of it in Linux distributions. Then I opted for Flash.
BUT: does Flash support RTSP??? If not, where can I find documentation for its streaming protocol so I can build one?

Flash :: Adobe Crash After Several Hours Of Playing Mp3 Stream
Mar 16, 2012I have made a mp3 player that is working fine, it plays a mp3 radio stream for several hours (last crash was after 6,5 hours) and then it crashes without any message or exception. This is very difficult to debug because it only happen after a couple of hours with the same stream. It appear in all browsers so it is a Adobe Flash problem or is this a buffer problem?
Must i use other buffering settings to play MP3 streams? Does anybody know this problem and what can be done to avoid this? Also another question is why memory consumption after hibernation of the pc is growing dramaticly (every second it eats a couple of 10Kb). After refreshing the page it is stable again. Why is this happening? Mp3 player is made in Flash 9 (CS3) with AS3 and the player is Flash 10 (latest). Running on Windows XP Prof with 3GB RAM.

According to my encoder, it should be located at: "rtmp://localhost/live" and is called livestream.In the Flash software I try and set the source of FLVPlayback component to "rtmp://localhost/live/livestream", and I get this error: "NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound : Adobe Flash tried to play a live or recorded stream that does not exist. Source can't be found.". Both the server and encoder is runnind and I am encoding.Too, when I try and open the html with the stream in a browser, nothing appears.

Ideally I would like to limit the IPs which are allowed to publish streams to the server.
I read about the Adobe Authentication Plugin, but apparently it is broken since it works only for Adobe Flash Media Live Enconder. It doesn't secure the server for other encoders that publish streams.

I tried to debug the code, but I can't even find the point where the constructor is called. The execution starts at "stop()" in frame 1 and then if you step into it, calls the enter frame event handler.

Oct 8, 2010I need to read a large CSV file (8-15 MB) and generate a LineChart in Flex AIR. Since Chart need data in structurd format like XML. When I read CSV and convert it to XML object 8 MB file size become 24 MB XML object and not able to graph.
Best solution is to read Line by line and read only part of data. How can I acheive this in Flex AIR ? Is it possible to read line by line in Flex.

Oct 8, 2010Only just getting started on this whole domain of learning, so go easy!If I set up a P2P video/audio chat (similar to the sample VideoPhone thing on the Cirrus site), can I get the stream from both parties to send to a server at the same time so that I can record it? If so, would I have to use a FMS to stream it to and perform the recording (and if so which version could I get away with)? Are there any (preferably free, or just tutorialised) solutions for the recording side of things?
Currently it seems like the only option for doing the P2P thing is to use Stratus/Cirrus unless I use FMS4 Enterprise.
how effective this kind of situation can be, in terms of quality of the stream and recording? Does any of this make sense?
Media Server :: Write Access Denied For Stream Error When Recording Audio Stream
Jul 26, 2010I've had FMS running on my local machine for a while and have had a little experience writing FMS apps, but I've just tried recording audio for the first time using the standard vod application and I keep getting a "Write access denied for stream" error. My AS3 code is copied and pasted for various examples and am confident that it works.
I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 & FMIS 3.5.
I've had a look at the vod/media directory and under windows->properties the read-only attribute is ticked. Every time I un-tick this it reverts back to being ticked. I've googled this and MS say that most programs ignore the read-only attribute and that it only really applied to files. I've also tried the MS fix for setting the read-only attribute via cmd and still no joy (doesn't fix read-only attribute or FMS recording the audio after setting via cmd).
I've also tried our dev server install of FMS (running under linux) and am getting the same results.

My Encoder is setup with three streams: Vid: 500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 800 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 1500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps I start the encoder and everything looks fine in the log. In my browser (Safari or Firefox) I go to my html site and the stream starts after 6-8 sec. But anytime with the lowest bitrate 548 kbps and nothing look like the stream is switching to another bitrate. I tried it with the smil playlist and the result is the same. Only the lowest bitrate is plublished.

Aug 27, 2010I'm having a problem with recording a live webcam stream. The last few seconds of the stream is getting cut off.
The recording is stopped with the following piece of code:

What could be causing this? Is the stream cut off too soon? Is the client unable to send buffered data to the server?
