Flex :: Can't Populate Text Fields In The Title Window?
Mar 19, 2011
Despite adding: source="myScript.as" (that basically feeds the main.mxml file)
to my TitleWindow component MXML file (which I instantiate from the main.mxml file) the variables defined in myScript.as appear to be null hence I can't populate my text fields in the title window, even though those variables work fine in the main.mxml.
I am trying to figure out how to dynamically populate textfields in Flash. The text in the fields will either say ON or OFF based on the value of bstatus.var bstatus will either have a value of 0 or 1 I have the following textfields listed below.I'm not sure if the syntax is correct, but I was thinking that the text fields would be in an array, and I would create a for loop--that will go through the array in order to have the fields populated.
var textFields:Array = new Array(); textFields[0] = compTxt.text; textFields[1] = bathLightTxt.text;
I'm trying to populate a set of dynamic text fields with text using a for() loop and cant seem to get it to work.I have 9 seperate dynamic text boxes each labled picNum0 - picNum8. I want to read a number of pictures from an external file then have those numbers populate 1 through 9 into the text fields.I get the variables loaded in with the correct values but the text fields wont populate.[code]When I trace(curPic) inside the for(){} it outputs: picNum0 - picNum8, so I know that the variables are allocating ok, but dynamic text fields arent populating with the correct numbers.
I have a Flash site I am developing that feeds in XML into various arrays and populates dynamic movie clips and text fields. I am having trouble making a for loop that works with my movieclips and text fields. I am probably only missing one step and if I can figure it out I will cut my lines of code about 10X. I have attached the fla and image files in a zip file.
bit stuck on something here and hoping that someone will be able to answer this question. i have a gallery generated via xml - i have three text fields on the stage that display the title and description of the thumbnail item.
[Code]...
not quite sure of the best/easiest way is to do it - call from the library and attach to mouse or something along those lines?
I am adding a tab navigator to a title window here. Once the title window is closed, it can be reopened using the button.But on opening the title window second time in this manner ,the content of the children of the Tab navigator(here, a label) is not visible.
I am working on the news ticker module (AS2) where I have to fetch news from xml and populate that news headings into four text fields and these 4 headings will stay for a while and fade until last record. this process will continue.
I'm trying to put my components in a window container that can be closed by "x" moved on the stage, resized and so on. And I wonder which is the best way to do it. I want to use a skin class and the component class. The "solution" that is not working looks like this
I have a flex 3 application with 2 titlewindows. When I compile it with the flex 4.1 sdk in flash builder, the titlewindows show up as mirror images of themselves with all text invisible (i.e alpha = 0).
The flex title window component is nice and all, but before it shows up it insists on blurring out the background of your window if it's set to modal. What if I want it to just show up immediately or at least speed it up so that the user doesn't have to wait around to enter data. Am I going to have to build a custom component based on TitleWindow to get this or not have it be modal? If I were to do that could I extend current TitleWindow or just copy out the source directly?
I have a strange issue- I use a title window to create a message to the user. The user has the ability to move the title window around the screen so that the main screen is visible.However if the user were to move the title window way too much, it can actually go outside the browser accessible area- the user has no option but to close the browser and start again. How do we ensure that the title window movement is limited, such that the title bar is always available for control?
I might not have worded this right- pls check the attached image.
I'm trying to center the title text on my Alert control. I'm using the following CSS right now: mx|Alert{ text-align: center; }
The problem is that the above code centers my alert content as well, not just the title text. What selector do I need to access just the title of the alert control? I'm using the 4.x SDK and Spark. Code: Alert.Show();
I have a panel in my application. My requirement is, I also require a link, that is "Help options" to appear in the panel's header. In the left, we will have the Panel's title and in the right corner, I need this link. Is that possible?
I am trying to change title of main window, but without luck.
I tried use external call and javascript, but it always shows, that Adobe Flash Player stopped, because of security. Same with getURL. I am trying to implement website into my .NET application, so It's unacceptable to have these errors.
I would like to know, how to change title via ActionScript 2.0 or 3.0.
I have code that opens a new window with the image of "pic1_popup.jpg" inside. Both the jpg and the size of the window are the same. The code below is wrapped in a URLRequest and submitted with a navigateToURL method.
When the window displays, the title bar displays "pic1_popup.jpg" and the size of the image.
What I need is to replace the title with "Enlargement"
Within the argument string, I tried title=Enlargement both with single quotes around Enlargement and without. Neither one changed the title.[code]...
<script language="javascript"> <!-- function changeTitle(t){
[Code]....
The result is - the page title stays the same, there are no errors - but i do get an alert that says "changed! Hello!" So the function is being fired, and the variable is being sent. It just will not change the page title.
If i call the function in javascript - so just under the function add - changeTitle("good") - it works fine, changing the title.
I need to know how to shake the popup browser window title bar (like in an earthquake) using just action scripting. I found some tutorials on this effect but they involve html which I can't/don't know how to use coz my animation is in a cd rom not web.
I'm working on a project with a flex component that I designed in flash and exported as a swc. The moment I changed two of the text fields in the flex component to from static to dynamic text fields, my app started throwing an error when I create a new instance of the flex component. I get the following error:
TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.text::TextField@1dddb179 to flash.display.MovieClip. at flash.display::Sprite/constructChildren() at flash.display::Sprite()
[Code]..
When I deleted the text fields from the stage and republished my game swc, it worked fine.
i have a problem where if my application is full screen i cannot click on any text input component and i cannot input any text into the fields. i have tried creating the text input fields at run time and i have tried creating them on the canvas when on the gui design window in flex builder. however they both give the same results and do not let me pick them and enter text.
I get the following warning when I run my application:
warning: incompatible embedded font 'Arial' specified for spark.components::Label (Label104).This component requires that the embedded font be declared with embedAsCff=true.
The application I am working on is a mix of Halo and Sparks components as I am migrating it to Flex 4. The text that is showing in the text fields is defaulting the systems serif font. There are a few problems with this warning.
1) I am not embedding any fonts in the application. I am not even assigning the Arial font to any of the components.
2) If I check the "Use Flash Text Engine in MX components", then all the text fields in the app throw the warning. Not just the sparks text fields.
Why does flex 4 think that I am using an embedded font with the sparks components? Is there any way to get around this warning and have the text fields use a non embedded font?
i have 2 fields and if these fields arn't filled in and the user hits submit i need a popup window to appear and just say "sorry you must complete the form to continue"yet when i try this it just keeps going to the next frame instead of showing the popup menu :S:SThis code is on my submit button here is my code so far:
Code: if (fname != "" && email != "") { status = "Begin Login Process - Wait..."; loadVariablesNum("reglogin.php", 0, "POST"); //loadVariablesNum("register2.php", 0, "POST");
is it possible to change the icon and the title in the title bar? are there any opensource or low cost ways (prehaps software with a education licence) to change the apperance of the projector window.. like for example itunes, breaks out of windows xp standard UI
how can i load large image? i used a Zoomify for solve this problem but there are another problem that i don't like to use it. can i do it in as3? like loading image title to title?
I would like to know if this is possible, i'm looking around the web to see if anyone has done this, but i would like to have a textboxes in my flash form read data and populate text from a textfile, is this possible or am i dreaming?
I'm trying to get creative and come up with a solution to tables and flash. I would like to change the information in the textfile weekly and it be reflected in the website.
