I am adding a tab navigator to a title window here. Once the title window is closed, it can be reopened using the button. But on opening the title window second time in this manner ,the content of the children of the Tab navigator(here, a label) is not visible.
Despite adding: source="myScript.as" (that basically feeds the main.mxml file)
to my TitleWindow component MXML file (which I instantiate from the main.mxml file) the variables defined in myScript.as appear to be null hence I can't populate my text fields in the title window, even though those variables work fine in the main.mxml.
I'm trying to put my components in a window container that can be closed by "x" moved on the stage, resized and so on. And I wonder which is the best way to do it. I want to use a skin class and the component class. The "solution" that is not working looks like this
I have a flex 3 application with 2 titlewindows. When I compile it with the flex 4.1 sdk in flash builder, the titlewindows show up as mirror images of themselves with all text invisible (i.e alpha = 0).
The flex title window component is nice and all, but before it shows up it insists on blurring out the background of your window if it's set to modal. What if I want it to just show up immediately or at least speed it up so that the user doesn't have to wait around to enter data. Am I going to have to build a custom component based on TitleWindow to get this or not have it be modal? If I were to do that could I extend current TitleWindow or just copy out the source directly?
I have a strange issue- I use a title window to create a message to the user. The user has the ability to move the title window around the screen so that the main screen is visible. However if the user were to move the title window way too much, it can actually go outside the browser accessible area- the user has no option but to close the browser and start again. How do we ensure that the title window movement is limited, such that the title bar is always available for control?
I might not have worded this right- pls check the attached image.
I have a flash panorama that has hotspot links to pop-up windows that contain more information about the object. Right now if you are in fullscreen mode and click a hotspot you are automatically kicked out of fullscreen mode and the pop-up then opens. Is it possible to have the pop-up open and have focus while in the background the panorama is still in fullscreen mode?
Has anyone noticed the following behavior building Flex programs using the mxmlc ANT task (running in the background): as the MXMLC task starts, it steals the window focus from whatever application is currently running, and then gives it back again! This is extremely disruptive. Is there a way to run the MXMLC task "headless" so it doesn't interact at all with the window system?I'm running on Mac OS X (10.5.8, if that matters), and Flash 4.0.1 (although the behavior existed on 3.x as well).
I've worked with PHP/MySQL for some time but have basically been editing existing OOP scripts or coding my own using procedural programming. I understand some about objects and how they work and I've read books but I am one who learns best by experimenting and trying to find solutions to my failed experiments.
That being said, I'm trying to create a simple window manager with it's own container. However, I can't get the container to display anything as I apparently don't understand how the stage works in flex applications. Here is my code, there are no errors but nothing gets displayed.Additionally, how do I get the current width & height of the application?
I am trying to change title of main window, but without luck.
I tried use external call and javascript, but it always shows, that Adobe Flash Player stopped, because of security. Same with getURL. I am trying to implement website into my .NET application, so It's unacceptable to have these errors.
I would like to know, how to change title via ActionScript 2.0 or 3.0.
I have code that opens a new window with the image of "pic1_popup.jpg" inside. Both the jpg and the size of the window are the same. The code below is wrapped in a URLRequest and submitted with a navigateToURL method.
When the window displays, the title bar displays "pic1_popup.jpg" and the size of the image.
What I need is to replace the title with "Enlargement"
Within the argument string, I tried title=Enlargement both with single quotes around Enlargement and without. Neither one changed the title.[code]...
<script language="javascript"> <!-- function changeTitle(t){
[Code]....
The result is - the page title stays the same, there are no errors - but i do get an alert that says "changed! Hello!" So the function is being fired, and the variable is being sent. It just will not change the page title.
If i call the function in javascript - so just under the function add - changeTitle("good") - it works fine, changing the title.
I need to know how to shake the popup browser window title bar (like in an earthquake) using just action scripting. I found some tutorials on this effect but they involve html which I can't/don't know how to use coz my animation is in a cd rom not web.
I have made a javascript/flash system to play sound effects on an AJAX-based game I have made. For some reason, on some systems (it appears to be just Firefox 3 on Windows XP), users can only hear the sound effects play while the window is in focus. If they minimize the window or are looking at a different window the sound effects don't play.
Is there any reliable way to give the stage focus when you first open it in a browser window WITHOUT first clicking on the stage? By reliable, I mean something that works across different browsers and on both PCs and Macs.I've seen numerous threads on this subject, and I've read the Adobe tech note, and it seems there is no reliable way.How in the world can Adobe ask people to use Flash and not provide a reliable way to give the stage focus on startup.
I am unable to replicate this issue in Flash - only in a browser window. It appears that if I lose focus of that window for a period of time or scroll down the page where the embedded flash isn't visible, when I scroll back up or return to the window, the event timers appear to play catch-up.The timed "removeChild" commands do not run and leave remnants on the stage. I do not get any errors however, and everything else seems to continue running as normal.
ActionScript Code: // XML File: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
I have created a container in Flash Professional CS5 for my projects CBT. I have been able to script many of the features we require using AS3, but there are a couple of things I am still trying to work out.I would like the swf presently playing in one tab to pause and go silent when another swf is opened in a new tab (the sound is inside this externally loaded swf which is loaded inside a movie clip from buttons nested a movie clip down). I have tried :
var originalFrameRate:uint = stage.frameRate; var standbyFrameRate:uint = 0; addEventListener(Event.ACTIVATE, onActivate)[code]....
This function is present when I publish the CBT with Captivate, so obviously there must be code available. You can set the Captivate button to open url in new window and pause movie. Is there something I can add to the html file that is similar to the has Priority for mobile devices or is there javascript that can be added to the flash itself?
I have a web page that uses javascript counters to count user "active" time, meaning the time a user spends viewing this page (and not some other page). I do this by starting/stopping them using the [URL].. However, when the user clicks on a plugin inside the same page (flash, java, etc), the window loses focus and window.onblur is fired. Is there a way to tell that the user is still on my page?
I have this SWF that is pulling videos from YouTube through their API. Everything is working nicely until I go to another browser tab or cause the window the SWF is in to lose focus otherwise (largely by using any program aside from the browser). When I return to the tab/window that the browser is playing in, if I have been away for anything over like 20 seconds, the time text that indicates where the play head is plays catchup jumping over 3-5 seconds at a time. While the video is not making these jumps, what is happening is that any buttons for controlling the video become unresponsive until the time text actually has caught up with the current position in the video play head. Thereafter all functioning for my other buttons (play/pause, full screen toggle, and sharing) returns to normal. I am using a Timer that calls every millisecond.
I made a swf that interacts with other site on the internet (which has a crossdomainfile for me).in the main.mxml there is a definition of webservice (mx:WebService)(which is not in my domain). Therefore when loading the swf, there is a first call to crossdomainfile.xml.I put this swf on my server so that my clients can get it.
When i connect to my server to download the swf, i expect to be asked if i want to allow the swf connect to foreign webservice domain.Do i always need to define exception in Global Security Settings panel?I don't want my client do define special things..Is there a best practice for that? Why when i surfing the net other swf can do this? I read about the FlashPlayerTrust, can i define there a website i trust my swf will connect to?
I have create a poker game user have 30 seconds time to play his turn, but the error is when user open another tab of his browser then flash countdown stopped until user dosent click on game tab. I tried, Timer event, setInterval and MovieClip enterframe also, but the main problem is when user focus the other browser window then flash all functions goes stopped until dosen't come back...
I'm trying to detect when pop ups are visible (including tool tips if possible). The reason is that I need to hide or freeze (capture a snapshot) the Stage* components (StageWebView, StageVideo, StageText etc) when pop ups appear.
is it possible to change the icon and the title in the title bar? are there any opensource or low cost ways (prehaps software with a education licence) to change the apperance of the projector window.. like for example itunes, breaks out of windows xp standard UI
I was wondering if its possible to make a website fall asleep when the focus is shifted away from the entire window.... so something like onBlur. I've seen this on a few websites and I got thinking how they did it. I'm guessing they have some kind of JavaScript code in their HTML page that can detect an onBlur or killFocus or whatever you call it - then the flash movie picks up on this and takes the appropriate action - like pauses a movie or displays a message "please come back" or things to that effect.
EXAMPLE: Go to [URL] and go to the WANDER AWAY section and click his links. Provided you have enough "money" (you can earn "money" by navigating around) you'll be taken to pixel ranger etc. Now click on the [URL] window and you'll see its been greyed out and is "asleep". You have to click the movie to awaken the site.
