I have a flex 3 application with 2 titlewindows. When I compile it with the flex 4.1 sdk in flash builder, the titlewindows show up as mirror images of themselves with all text invisible (i.e alpha = 0).
View 1 RepliesThe flex title window component is nice and all, but before it shows up it insists on blurring out the background of your window if it's set to modal. What if I want it to just show up immediately or at least speed it up so that the user doesn't have to wait around to enter data. Am I going to have to build a custom component based on TitleWindow to get this or not have it be modal? If I were to do that could I extend current TitleWindow or just copy out the source directly?
View 2 RepliesI am adding a tab navigator to a title window here. Once the title window is closed, it can be reopened using the button.But on opening the title window second time in this manner ,the content of the children of the Tab navigator(here, a label) is not visible.

I'm struggling to get around an error that is constantly thrown in my application when I press the tab key.
I have a modal dialog box that contains a form with 3 form items. Whenever I press the tab button flex throws an error saying
"ArgumentError: Error #2025: The supplied DisplayObject must be a child of the caller."
I've tried setting up a focus manager in the initilize handler of my title window to no avail

Despite adding: source="myScript.as" (that basically feeds the main.mxml file)

I have a strange issue- I use a title window to create a message to the user. The user has the ability to move the title window around the screen so that the main screen is visible.However if the user were to move the title window way too much, it can actually go outside the browser accessible area- the user has no option but to close the browser and start again. How do we ensure that the title window movement is limited, such that the title bar is always available for control?

I have a an image, lets call it "StageSkin.png".This is an image which is really just a border, and the middle of the image is "windowed", meaning that it is meant to show other information inside of it.The information inside of it is in the form of a component (based on a canvas component, lets call it 'Gauge').I want to create a component out of the 'StageSkin' image and the 'Gauge' component inside of it that would allow me to resize the component with the 'Gauge' component staying inside of StageSkin's window.I searched on this, and got the code below, but the embedded component just overlaps the entire image. What do I need to do?

I'm creating an alert popup within an Adobe Flex 4 project using the following:

When my language is of Asian origin (Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc) the title appears correctly on the Alert, but the message does not. I'm seeing the correct localization values EVERYWHERE ELSE in my application except the Alert popup and in one other instance on a mx:Checkbox control.
I've checked my app and the strings are being returned from the resourceManager correctly but just aren't rendering to the screen. Does anyone have any insight as to what might be causing this behavior?
how can i load large image? i used a Zoomify for solve this problem but there are another problem that i don't like to use it. can i do it in as3? like loading image title to title?

I'm using a skin to define the colors, background fill etc. But how do I add this image at the right end of the title bar?I would like to make that image cutomizable so that when the component is inserted, either the default image is used or a new image can be provided.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to make a UCI (user created interface) for the music player, Cowon D2. Basically, I am trying to create mirror effects for album art movie clips.
I have searched high and low but have been unable to find a suitable solution which would work on Flash Player 7 with Actionscript 2.0. I had started to lose hope but decided to ask on this forum as a last attempt.
I have previously just flipped the movie clips then set alphas on them. However, it does not look very nice. I would prefer a gradiented mirror image.
BitmapData and Matrix classes are however not supported by Flash Player 7.
The idea is I have 3x3 containers(Sprites) - each one holds 2 tiles of 2 two images (shown one and unvisible - laying behind) . So there are 9containers and 18 tiles. When I click on the image I get rotation of the containers, and when every container is about 90 degrees, its childs swap each oher. So in result I get second image shown. But unfortunely then, shown image is rotated by 180 degrees, that means its left side is on the right. Pre rotating containers ( of tiles gives total mess, as middle tiles seem to be right, but left side of the image and right doesnt match to rest.So I need to rotate tiles, which are bitmapData - parts of Bitmap. But I can not rotate them - there is no property .rotationY for bitmapData, and I can not use matrix's rotate() method as it traits only angle rotation and not axis rotation.If I rotate by Y axis the bitmap before slicing it to tiles nothing happens, so I guess draw method relies on default Bitmap.
So Q : How can I rotate on Y axis a bitmap to have mirror reflection of the image and then apply it reflected to the as a .bitmapData property and slice it to small pieces.

I tried use external call and javascript, but it always shows, that Adobe Flash Player stopped, because of security. Same with getURL. I am trying to implement website into my .NET application, so It's unacceptable to have these errors.

I have code that opens a new window with the image of "pic1_popup.jpg" inside. Both the jpg and the size of the window are the same. The code below is wrapped in a URLRequest and submitted with a navigateToURL method.
When the window displays, the title bar displays "pic1_popup.jpg" and the size of the image.
What I need is to replace the title with "Enlargement"

The application it will be use in windows ( I am not sure if XP, vista, but windows). So when resize the stage, to load pdf, then and ONLY then, I want the title bar disappears, just to simulate full_screen. How can I do, to make in a desktop application that?

If I declare a window this way, and then call this.open(false);, the window will quickly open and then hide, and then be reshown when I actually display it, I want to do this to be able to load content and fit the window to that size before showing it.

The result is - the page title stays the same, there are no errors - but i do get an alert that says "changed! Hello!" So the function is being fired, and the variable is being sent. It just will not change the page title.
If i call the function in javascript - so just under the function add - changeTitle("good") - it works fine, changing the title.

View 4 RepliesI have an Image object that gets resized to the containers size when the image loads.The images that it will load are dynamic in size so after resize I end up with a sliver of the image object's white background showing.How can I make the Image object not have a white background and be transparent.Parts of the PNG's have transparent parts but show up as white due to the white background of the object is it loaded into.

View 5 RepliesI have a flex mobile application that I am working on that I am having issues with selecting an image from roll/taking a picture. My application is not tabbed, however one part of it contains a Tabbed View Navigator with tabs across the bottom. Within one of those tabs, I have the ability to upload an image to a webservice that I have created. However, when I select an image or take the picture, it pops back out to the initial splash screen and the application restarts. If I use the component standalone (outside of the tabbed view navigator) it selects the image and uploads without any problem.

In Flex4, I use an Image control. After every 10 seconds, i am changing the image programatically using Timer. But when the image changes, flickering occurs. Is there any method to prevent this?
