View 1 RepliesI am building a flash media player for an live audio stream. The server is set up to stream from a url that looks like so: . The instructions I have found say to first set the directory:
nc.connect("rtmp://ourwowzaserver.net:80/ourfiledirectory");
And then later play it:
nc.play(mp3:thefilename)
This works when we have discrete filenames on the server (thefilename), but the live stream is not a file - rtmp://ourwowzaserver.net:80/shoutcast. How in the heck do I get .play to play it?
i had installed a FMS4 developper in server on my centOs. I can connect to my FMS with client with RTMP, but with RTMFP, FMS don't reply. I looked at FMS log and i saw edge. 00.log:
2010-09-30 13:11:53 4984 (e)2631504 RTMFP could
not start on edge process for _defaultRoot__edge1. Famille d'adresses non support par le protocole -
I cannot connect to an FMS server from a client on a another domain using RTMP
Locally running a flash client that uses nc.connect(rtmp://...) to connect - works.
But when the client is in another domain I get NetConnection.Connect.Failed in the netconnection onstatus.
I've put crossdomain.xml files on my FMS folders that allow access from any domain (*). Also the allowedHTMLdomains.txt and allowedSWFdomains.txt are set to allow any - though it's not just the live application I can't connect to, it's also any other app.
There are no firewalls blocking on the server. Port 1935 is available. FMS is set to listen to 1935. The server is accessible with other protocols (http) - but with RTMP it only connects when I try to connect locally, as mentioned.
What other reasons or settings can cause the connection to FAIL?
The server is FMS 4.5 Developer Edition.
today I install fms3.5 on my pc.
1)I can use rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:sample2_1000kbps.f4v , it works ok. But when I use rtmp://192.168.8.3/vod/mp4:sample2_1000kbps.f4v, I got Netconnect.connection.rejected. 192.168.8.3 is my fms server IP.
2)When I set fms use port 1935 and 80, rtmp://192.168.8.3/vod/mp4:sample2_1000kbps.f4v works ok on other pc. But using wireshark(Wireshark is a network protocol analyzer for Unix and Windows.) I found , the flash player connect 1935 port at first, it send "connect",the server replay "connection.rejected" and "no scope "vod" on this server". Than it connect to 80 port, so I see the video is not send throw 1935 port with rtmp, but throw 80 port with rtmpt. Why? How can I see video throw rtmp?
Writing RTMP Streaming Server for streaming AVC+AAC video. And it works fine with rtmpdump. But I can't force it to work in flowplayer and other flash video players.The message sequence after handshake is similar to FMS / RED5 / erlyvideo / haxevideo servers: I've tried a lot of variations.
From Chrome debug console I can see, what all negotiating messages passed to the flowplayer. The last one is onMetaData. And after this the working sample (rtmp://flash.tvwmedia.net/LiveVideo//Live300) gets NetStream.Buffer.Full. And streaming from my server don't get it.
I'm starting with AVC Header message, containing sps/pps. After it first AVC picture passed. After - AAC header and AAC sample. And then AVC/AAC samples. This dumped OK by rtmpdump - I have working flv on exit. But flowplayer and others does not work.

Know how can i get the Adobe RTMP SDK or any other SDK which implement the RTMP protocol....
View 1 RepliesWe had FMS2 installed before and the paths to all our videos are like rtmp://ServerName/sites/.... (the default path on FMS2) Now we upgrade to FMS4 and we would like to keep these paths the same because we have many HTMLs that reference these videos. However, the default path on FMS4 is rtmp://ServerName/vod/... Is there a way to change "vod" to "sites"?
I tried to change VOD_COMMON_DIR in fms.ini from /install_dir/webroot/vod to /install_dir/webroot/sites, and also changed the document root in httpd.conf, but rtmp://ServerName/sites/ is still not working.
I've been stucked with this requirement for a long time.And how can I do that?

View 1 RepliesUPDATE: Now I've moved the AMFConnection var declaration to outside the functions in Main, and commented out some trace() commands, and now it gives new errors:
Error #2044: Unhandled NetStatusEvent:. level=error, code=NetConnection.Call.BadVersion
at AMFConnection/init()[/Users/Jan/Downloads/amfphp1/AMFConnection.as:32]
at AMFConnection()[/Users/Jan/Downloads/amfphp1/AMFConnection.as:23]

I'm trying to connect to AMFPHP on a server (with Flash AS3), and the swf borks when it reaches the .connect() stage. To make things easier (?) and more reusable (?), I've put all the NetConnection mechanics into a separate class, AMFConnection, which I call from the Main document class like this (details changed):
public function testConnection(e:*=null):void {
var conn:AMFConnection = new AMFConnection();
conn.table = "some_table";
...
AMFConnection actually starts the connection and calls the AMFPHP service with the function gogogo(), and here's where the connect() NetConnection function just won't work. Here's the main section of the AMFConncection class
private var _netConnection:NetConnection;
private var _responder:Responder;
function AMFConnection()
...
It also fails to display the stage, instead showing the loading dots. Now, eventually I'm going to move this application to the same server as the AMFPHP service, but even when I try it there with a relative url, instead of an absolute one, it still breaks down at connect(). I've tried changing the publish settings from local only to network only, to no avail.
Live streaming and a buffer on a NetStream do not mix. Why? The docs don't say you can't do this.The playback gets hosed. Buffer is supposed to fill to what you set it to before playing. Instead though, about half the time, the player starts playing right away and disregards the buffer time you've set. Then you get caught in short buffering and rebuffering cycles that degrades the playback experience.
Give it a shot yourself. Here is the simplest of live streaming video players. No frills. Just connect it to your live stream by changing the defaultURL string and stream name in the ns.play() statement.
Run it in Flex debug mode. It will check and print the ns.bufferLength property every second. The buffer is set to 20 secs currently. Last time I ran it, I never made it above 2 seconds in the buffer. Player started playing right away instead of buffering the full 20 secs first. Sometimes you get to the full 20 and sometimes not.

How to understand binary data transferring between flash client and server? How do rtmp-servers work? How is video transferring between server and client? What's the difference between using Socket and NetConnection? Is rtmp-server just a socket server supporting amf serialization? I'll be very happy, if someone explains me these aspects.
View 1 RepliesThere is one chat room which you can login through the URL:. user:lqbl password:790420 Now I am developing one RTMP client for chatroom with Flex builder 3 and my client runs with flash player not IE. When I execute netConnection.connect, the FMS server reject my request. I catched the RTMP connect packet with sniffer. the difference is the swfUrl and pageUrl are setted value when login the chat room through upper URL. But no value for my client. So I guess the FMS reject my client since swfUrl and pageUrl. how to set them in Flex builder 3?
View 0 Repliesive been pondering how to create the same type of resizing that acrobat connect does. i did read the documentation of percentage sizing. and i have implemented it. but its not how i want it to look. to see an example: sorry Jeffrey to use you as an example. :) just try to resize your window and see it... thats what im looking for.

I made a custom server that accepts TCP connections on a certain port. I made a corresponding client that sends data to the server. The client writes to the socket and the server seems to accept it. In short, the server / client rig works. Now I want to re-create the client only this time, via Flex 4 / Flash Builder 4. How do I go about making my Flex 4 app connect to my custom server?
...
With that type of approach, the server doesn't seem to be receiving any connections at all. And also, even though I set the requestTimeout to 5, my Flex app seems to continuously try to connect to the server because I rigged it so that the button when clicked will call this HTTPService also that certain button would get disabled and it will get enabled again after it the connection successfully connects, returned an error or if it timed out.
So with all these said, I want to ask you, what is the best approach to making my Flex app connect to my custom made server?
I have a grails application that will be rendering an html page into a pdf file and I have a flex application sitting on a server that is going to accept REST parameters and construct a graph based on the parameters (which will be formatted in JSON). What I want to do is make a call to the flex app with my parameters and have the flex app create the graph, render a JPEG of the graph, then send an image back to grails. In other words, I want to put an HTML img src=that will render the image directly to the page so that my PDF Plugin in grails will render it into the PDF.

View 1 RepliesI have to use flex 4 for the front end and php with Symfony 2 as backend. I want to use amf to call remote methods on the php. I have known that Symfony 2 does not have plugin for amf communications with Flex. In this case how can I connect them? or I have to use httpservice/webservices which is slow in performance.
View 1 RepliesI am working with php, Flex and zend's AMF Server using this guide. I successfully managed to connect php with Flex but after 'reconstruction' of my MySQL query I get a little bit different objects - some of their values are NULL. That confuses Flex and I get an error from my RemoteObject:Was expecting mx.messaging.messages.AcknowledgeMessage, but received null I was searching around the web, and I believe it is happening because some values are NULL, but I couldn't find appropriate solution..

How would you be able to connect 2 users ( that are known and have a user account on my site) in a flex app together using rtmfp?I have a simple flex game app where I want 2 users to be connected to each other. There is a simple SQL database in the background for storing the users, but after this I'm unable to figure out how I would connect the 2 users.tmfp generates a unique ID that you can use to connect 2 users together?Im looking for a good tutorial info resource or an example app that demonstates connecting 2 users, or just an explanation
