I've had a good rummage around the interweb and can't seem to find any examples of a tri-state checkbox. It doesn't look to be supported in the SDK and I can't find any examples online. I would imagine this is a common problem, before I embark on writing my own does anyone know of a good flex tri-state checkbox component somewhere I can use :)

I have a Flex TileList with an itemRenderer made by me. The list loads the content perfectly and renders it. Renderer is a simple canvas element with a checkbox and another canvas with some labels with data. I implemented a method that, on TileList
itemClick="clickedItemHandler(event)",
Changes the state of the checkbox (if checked -> uncheck, and vice versa).
The method works if I click on any place of the item, EXCEPT the checkbox. When I click the checkbox, it doesn't change state. Maybe I was changing the state of the checkbox, and the event changing it back, but I debugged it and it doesn't look like so..
I would like the native Flex checkBox to change state only, when the box is clicked. If user clicks the label the state shouldn't change.
The click event cannot be muted as it is utilized in parenting components.
how to obtain such functionality? How to detect, that user has clicked the label?
I have a test that I made for work. What I would like to do is make my radio button or my checkbox state hold true when I hit the back button.Right now I have 40 question and answer with checkboxes and radio buttonsm using the flash quiz Component Inspector tool. I know its not the best way to go, but this is my first time making a test for work. Once I learn the basic I will move on to better test.OK back to the problem at hand. As soon as I move forward to the next frame everything works great. But when I move back the radio button or checkbox state is not like I set it before I move on. It is set back to its null value which mean I just lost that data input in that frame. Well like I said I have 40 Qs so going back and not having that checkbox or radio stay true is not good for the user. Do I need to �selectedData property? If so how do I go about doing this?And the buttons have this code on them.

However, it keeps displaying 'No' in the email message field, whether the checkbox is selected or not. It's my understanding that view states can be useful when switching the layout of design elements. Such as, a loading page as one state and the main application design in another state. Is this the correct use of them? Additionally, I have a label in State1 and I cannot figure out how to access that label via actionscript. labelID.text = "New Text"; is not working.

Whilst the user is reading the warm and fuzzy welcome note in the welcome state I want to be creating the big expensive panels state so taht when we switch there is no delay. Before the panels state is set panelView is null but I presume there must be an IDefferredInstance floating around somewhere that I can use to kick off the creation of the view. [URL]I have a checkbox renderer i am placing into my Datagrid. The checkbox needs to do a sql query on the sqllite database and see if the show is marked as watched, if it is then make the checkbox as checked and if not mark the checkbox and not checked.
What i would like to do further to this is add the watched items to one XMLList and add the not watched episodes to a different XMLList and have the checkbox on click= move from one to the other list as per watched or not.

View 2 RepliesContext: I have a data grid where the following has been implemented. tabbing through each column in a single row and creating a new row when tabbing from the last column. The last column in my datagrid is now a checkbox. I set the 'editable' to false as shown below (since we don't want editable text to be shown when user clicks on/tabs to checkbox.
Problem: When I tab through the columns of a given row, I cannot tab to the checkbox column and therefore cannot use the space bar to toggle between checked/unchecked. The user is forced to use the mouse to toggle the check box. Question: How do I let user tab to the checkbox column, and press spacebar to toggle between checked and unchecked?

The problem I am having is, I think, that it's not recognizing the attribute in the html as boolean "hidden="false" or hidden="true". I can get the value, but how to I make it recognize the value as something other than a string?
In Flex, how do I create a CheckBox that can't be un-checked? I run a function when the checkbox is clicked. If that function encounters an error, I want the state of the checkbox to remain the same. How do I do that?

There's a ActionScript class which dynamically creates basic UI element.So I create RadioButton as

and then put it in a Panel Container.The problem is that it appears to be a Button. However it behaves like RadioButton.I have found this problem with one more guy who has posted it here.CheckBoxes and RadioButton looks like Push Buttons.
