I'am using flexmojos-maven-plugin to build my Flex module. So on the compile phase I'm getting org.apache.maven.plugin.MojoExecutionException: Error compiling!with no information on where (at what source file) the error happens and what is nature of the compile error.

I have a flex maven project written by externel company that I need to modify. I dont have a Flash Builder licence yet (it takes forever to buy anythng in my company) I installed Netbeans 6.5 and FlexBean but when i opended flex maven project the action script code is ont recognized as action script by the IDE. I have a Flash builder project that I am migrating from SDK 4.1.0 to 4.5.1. This has been a relatively easy change (we are using maven for our builds, and were able to get a successful build after updating to the 4.5.1 dependencies).
As said, the project builds fine with maven and flexmojos. The issue is when opening the project in flash builder. The maven project is imported and then set as a flex project by running the maven flexmojos:flexbuilder build command.
The issue lies when certain mx components that are specified with the s: namespace are no longer accepted by the IDE, and result in an error. For example, for the following to compile:
<s:states>
<s:State name="normal" />
<s:State name="disabled" />
</s:states>
s:State must be changed to the mx namespace:
<s:states>
<mx:State name="normal" />
<mx:State name="disabled" />
</s:states>
This is just one example, and only happens for certain spark-namespaced components. Why is this? Why does this compile OK with Flex SDK 4.1.0 but not with Flex SDK 4.5.1, and what is the cause of the necessary namespace change?
When I try to build the project I get
Definition spark.components.gridClasses:CellRegion could not be found.
this class is contained in com/adobe/flex/framework/spark/4.5.0.17855/spark-4.5.0.17855.swc which is included in the library-path by the flex-mojo compiler but I still get the error.
I use flex-mojos 3.9 and Flex 4.5.
I'm trying to create a Flex based internet application with an EJB layer in the server. This layer provides the XML used by the flex application. It uses the Cairngorm architecture.Currently, on an error I call the handler function defined in all the command files. How can I centralize this?My idea is to create a XML file that contains all the error messages and the types of error message eg:- Warning, Error etc. In the error handler, I will call the error handling function and pass a unique id which in turn will display the error message defined in the xml config file. Do I need to load this XML file in the Model layer of the application itself and store them as say global variables?

Ive tried creating a trusted certificate in the jdk cacerts file however no success and could do with seeing what is actually the problem. I have looked under the Program Files/Adobe/Flex Builder 3 plugin/ folder but cant find anything which has been updated in the time frame ive been seeing the exceptions.
Im trying to connect a Flash client to BlazeDS. There has been some success with this from others using the vanilla BlazeDS setup. However I'm using the new Spring BlazeDS Integration from springsource and running aground. The flash client actually seems to be working in that I can see the correct data in the body of the returned object, but for some reason unknown it fails casting as an IMessage. It fails in PollingChannel.as on this line with the subject line error

I'm getting this error when compiling a newly created application with SDK 4.1:1017: The definition of base class Application was not found.I can click on the SDK library path in the Flash Builder Explorer and navigate to the spark->components->Application object.
View 1 RepliesI was working on a project with flexmojos 3.9 and Flex 4.0. I decided to upgrafe my version of the flex SDK to 4.5 but I have the followin problems:
1- Maven Message: [FATAL ERROR] org.sonatype.flexmojos.optimizer.OptimizerMojo#execute() caused a linkage error (java.lang.NoSuchMethodError) and may be out-of-date. Check the realms
2- Stack trace: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:flex2.compiler.common.Configuration.setKeepDebugOpcodes(Z)V
When compiling using flexmojos I get the warning:[WARNING] No themes are explicitly defined in the section or in any scope="theme" dependencies. Flexmojos is now attempting to figure out which themes to include. (to avoid this warning you should explicitly state your theme dependencies)[WARNING] Adding spark.css theme because spark.swc was included as a dependency.[code]But I just get an [code] must be one of [compile, runtime, system] but is 'theme'.I just want to use the standard Spark theme.

This is quite worrying because I am developing in Eclipse (which uses mxmlc) yet my master build script (which uses flexmojos) is producing a totally different file.
I'm trying to use the Flex 4 SDK's mx.rpc package in a Flash application.I imported Flex's rpc.swc (AdobeAdobe Flash Builder 4sdks4.0.0frameworkslibs pc.swc) into my project by adding it to the list in Flash's "Publish Settings/Flash/ActionScrip 3.0 Settings/Library Path". It seems like I have access to the classes, however when I compile I get this error:
1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: [mx.rpc]::IResponder.
There's no location or line for the error either.
I'd like to capture the feedback I receive in the Output panel when testing something in the Flash IDE, and display it in a TextArea included in my movie when it is compiled and running in a live environment. Is there any way I can make this happen?
View 4 Repliessomething I seem to be seeing a lot more these days are error messages from flash.. often on quite major websites - and now that I am using AS3 they are also starting to appear in mine! (still at the testing phase though)
Often the site continues to run fine in spite of the error, but its a real bad look to end users, clients etc. Is there any way just to turn error reporting off in the flash player or in a published swf?
I know it would be better to fix the errors but some of them are really dumb. Like the one that is plaguing me at the moment - I have some objects that check the "relatedObject" property on rollout. Sometimes they are quite near the edge of the stage.. if you click and then roll right out of the browser window it says:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at nxx_fla::main_1/clip_rollout()
I keep getting error messages and don't know why? I am trying to listen for cue point. Also, do I really need to have the NET_STATUS listener attached to both the NetConnection and NetStream?

View 1 RepliesThere is probably no way for this but does anyone know a method of excluding certain functions from a build by use of a meta tag and or compiler option?I want to expose some functions for testing but not have them bloat the application on production. I could create separate testing classes and test for a complier directive or option and only load them if necessary but I like the idea of having the test function on the actual object (in the class).

My problem is that this request might be wrong, and so the server will give me a back a 400 Bad Request, with a message to explain the error. If the Event.COMPLETE, I can see some message (a response) back from the server in the "data" field of the Event, but if onGetUploadURLError or getHttpStatus is called, it just says that the error code is 400 but does not show me the message associated with it.
The "data" field is undefined in getHttpStatus and it is "" in onGetUploadURLError. On the contrary, in getBaseURL, I get: {"ResponseMetadata":{...}} I checked and I do get a similar response in my browser for a wrong request, but I cannot see it.
I think this is a pretty major issue I don't know why I don't find much info on the web but the numerous and ceaseless erros flash player 10 is throwing all the time are so annoying! I mean what does the user cares if:
Code: Select allError #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error.
at SoundBar()
at Main/addedToStage()

And even then I can't really prevent the first error from appearing, cause from what I know I closed the site's tab and it's saying that the sound I am loading isn't loaded yet.... well if I am closing the entire site what do I care about some f sound?
