I have a datagrid with about 10 or more columns, say for example a few column names are: Item Id, Item Name, Item Status and VerifiedState. Initially I want the column Verified State to be disabled.
Now When the value of the column, Item Status is Review Passed for a particular row, I want the column VerifiedState to be enabled and editable. Is that possible in Flex datagrid.

Aug 23, 20101) Each field in the form only allows 3 characters and no special characters such as @ _ ! . , etc... 2) When the user goes to the next field in the form, the previous field appears blank but the when clicking on that again, the original text appears. 3) When submitting the form, it just keeps saying "in progress" and never shows the confirmation text nor does the email get sent. There is an HTML file included with this form but I am not sure if I need to put that in as I have embedded this form into an SWF file so I don't think I need that code but let me know if I am wrong about this. The problem I am having is, I think, that it's not recognizing the attribute in the html as boolean "hidden="false" or hidden="true". I can get the value, but how to I make it recognize the value as something other than a string?

May 27, 2011have an advanced datagrid with a simple custom mxadvanceddatagriditemrenderer. I want the renderer to only display an image when the row is hovered or selected. Right now I am doing that by using the excludeFrom="normal" tag on my image.
It works fine (minus the selected state, it disappears when selected) when I have the states hovered and normal defined. When I try to define a selected state, upon row click I get the following error:

Php :: Special Characters In Flex?
Jan 4, 2010I am working on a Flex app that has a MySQL database. Data is retrieved from the DB using PHP then I am using AMFPHP to pass the data on to FlexThe problem that I am having is that the data is being copied from Word documents which sometimes result in some of the more unusual characters are not displaying properly. For example, Word uses different characters for starting and ending double quotes instead of just " (the standard double quotes). Another example is the long dash instead of -.All of these characters result in one or more accented capital A characters appearing instead. Not only that, each time the document is saved, the characters are replaced again resulting in an ever-increasing number of these accented A's appearing.
Doing a search and replace for each troublesome character to swap it for one of the none characters seems to work but obviously this requires compiling a list of all the characters that may appear and means there is scope for this continuing as new characters are used for the first time. It also seems like a bit of a brute force way of getting round the problem rather than a proper solution.Does anyone know what causes this and have any good workarounds / fixes? I have had similar problems when using utf-8 characters in html documents that aren't set to use utf-8. Is this the same thing and if so, how do I get flex to use utf-8?

Flex Builder comes with Flex SDK 3.2.0.3958 and setting the Framework Linkage to use Runtime shared Library (RSL) under Project Properties -> Flex Build Path will separate the framework from my main application and I see that my project's bin-debug directory contains framework_3.2.0.3958.swf and *.swz for distribution.Flex SDK 3.4 fixes a few bugs, so I configured it as another available sdk and set it as the default SDK. When I compile, I expect the bin-debug directory to contain framework_3.4.0.9271.swf and *.swz; however, Flex Builder is still writing framework_3.2.0.3958.swf and *.swz.

Do do so I need to get the parent element of the selected Item. Following code I already collected together:

Feb 3, 2010I have a TileList with thumbnail images. Under each thumbnail images I display the name of the image. I want to build rename functionality. So under the TileList is a "Rename selected image" button.
When this button is clicked, I would like to change the state of the itemRenderer component. The label underneath the image will change into a TextInput so that the user can type a new name. This is much like the Windows rename file functionality.
How can I access the itemRenderer of the selected image? How can I make it happen that it listens to the click event of the Rename button?[code]...

May 21, 2010I have a small flex datagrid. The dataProvider is an xmlList. I have two columns, userList and user permissions. The user permissions column as checkboxes. The values for the checkbox are stored as 0 and 1 in mySQL. While returning it from PHP, I am converting them to true or false. Its returning the values correctly to the frontend.
But inside the itemrenderer, the checkbox is not being set to true or false.
Either everything is true or everything is false.

Flex :: Add 5 Days Onto The Selected Date In Df_date
Jan 8, 2011I have some code as follows:

In essence, I am trying to add 5 days onto the selected date in df_date, and put that date into df_dateDue. This fires off via an EventListener on a combobox. Both df_date and df_dateDue are dateFields.
OK, so the first time that I run this, it works fine; df_date stays the same and df_dateDue is set to 5 days past df_date. However, the next time that I run it, df_dateDue increments by 10 days from df_date, the next time by 15, and so on.
So, stepping through the code shows that somehow df_date has become linked to the temp var, and that the temp var is not resetting itself each time the function is called.
Example: df_date = 01 Jan, df_dateDue = 01 Jan.
Fire off the event, df_date = 01 Jan, df_dateDue = 06 Jan Fire off the event again. At this point, var temp = 06 Jan (even though df_date still shows 01 Jan), and df_dateDue is then set to 11 Jan Fire off the event again. At this point var temp = 11 Jan (even though df_date = 01 Jan), and df_dateDue is then set to 16 Jan
