ActionScript 3.0 :: Error: Application.icon Is An Unexpected Element/attribute

Nov 8, 2011

I'm trying to publish my AIR app from Flash CS5.  Publishing has been fine, until I tried to use my own icon.

In the Adobe AIR 2.5 settings, under the ICON tab, I select my icon.

Now when I publish, I get the error: application.icon is an unexpected element/attribute

Now even if I don't include the icon, I can't publish.

I've found a ton of articles on fixing the same problem re application.version is an unexpected element/attribute - but nothing on this icon prob.

Search Flex XML Object To Find Attribute When Given Element Name?

Oct 13, 2010

I have a Flex XML object as follows:

private var _xmlCountries:XML =
<Countries>
<option value="AF">Afghanistan</option>
<option value="AL">Albania</option>
<option value="DZ">Algeria</option>
<option value="AO">Angola</option>

[Code]...

This object is ok, and shows up correctly in debug mode. The problem is I have a country name i.e. private var _country:String = "Angola";, and I want to get the corresponding value 'AO' from the XML object. Do you know how to do this?

I have tried loads of Livedocs examples, but cant get it to work. P.S. I am working on a HtpService & WebService driven app to display global weather conditions overlayed on a Google Maps interface. Going to make it available to the Flex community when finished.

Say I start at a leaf node, and I traverse up the tree by using .parent(). I need an exit condition once it hits root. At the moment, I'm using parent.@name != "root", where name is just an attribute, but shouldn't I be able to check the type of element as well? How? Also, is there another way to end the traversal in as3?

Xml :: Set A Variable Attribute Of A Xml Element?

Jan 28, 2010

How do you set a variable attribute of a xml element?This is what I expected to work:xmlElement.attribute(variableAttr) = "the variable attribute is set to this string";

However, I'm getting some error that this value can only be retrieved as a reference and not set.Ofcourse, the following does not work either as it will look for the attribute named "variableAttr" and not for the attribute named after the value of the variable variableAttr:

xmlElement.@variableAttr = "example";

Flash :: Flex4 - Compiler Error Using All Flex Charting Components Using 4.1 SDK W/Builder 4?

Mar 12, 2012

Why do I need to do add extra namespace declarations (below) in a Flex 4.1 "MX only component set" project to get it to compile within Flash Builder? (It says mx:LineChart cannot be resolved when a chart is added via Design View, and datavisualization.swc is referenced.)

Is there a way I can get this to compile without adding these special xmlns:charts, xmlns:series and chartClasses to the declaration? (If I just leave the default namespaces and use mx:SomeChartComponent, it doesn't compile.)

ActionScript 3.0 :: Error #1085: The Element Type "link" Must Be Terminated By The Matching End-tag "</link>"

Jan 19, 2010

Error #1085: The element type "link" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</link>".I am trying to parse a Feedburner XML file to play podcasts from this file in a custom-made podcast player. I CANNOT edit the XML file, and what's more, the <link> tag actually does have a closing </link> tag. The player works absolutely beautifully in Firefox and does not spit out any errors when I test in Flash, but it does not work at all in Chrome or IE. Instead, I get this blasted error.

I have searched up and down the internet for a solution to this and have found nothing that works. No timer events, no editing the xml file (as I indicated before, I don't have access to it). I think it might have something to do with Feedburner feeds and their namespace tags.

however
private var my_vector:Vector.<String>;

ActionScript 3.0 :: Error 1199: Type Parameters With A Non-parameterized Type

Nov 18, 2009

The compiler keeps yelling at my first line "package aRenberg.utils", and I don't see anything wrong with it.

what this error even means? I'll upload the code if needed, and I'm using a heavy amount of ASDoc if it makes any difference.

EDIT: I might have isolated it. If I comment out "import flash.utils.Dictionary;" the error goes away, and it moves on to other errors, however, one of the errors is "1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Dictionary."
