View 1 RepliesI am building a compartmentalized Flex application which uses <SWFLoader > to load additional Flex applications inside it. I am currently planning on using the LocalConnection class to have these two applications talk to each other, but I'm wondering if there's any kind of event driven way to have actions in the internal application propagate to the parent application, and/or any way for the parent application to trigger events in the internal application?
View 1 RepliesI'm using Flex Builder 3 to build what will be a fairly large project. I'm suffering from modules stepping on each other and a conflict between application/module. My structure looks something like the following:
[Code]...
i have something like this
private var video:Video;
...
private function init():void {
[Code]....
which property should i change or bind a slider to in order to be able to change the sound volume ?
I have a flex application and have embedded a flash (SWF) file into it using <mx:SWFLoader>. There is an "Exit" button on the Flash file. I want to be able to handle the button click event on the flex application.
So when that button in the flash file is clicked, I want to perform an action in the parent flex application.
I'm loadning a swf coverflow (as2) to a swf (as3) with SWFLoader.
My problem is that i wish to make gotoAndPlay calls from the loaded swf to the as3, or even better call functions. Is there any way to do this - i've tried alot..
I can't seem to figure out how to set the application control bar's background color in flex 4? It doesn't have the backgroundColor property, and I'm a little stuck.
View 2 RepliesI have a flex application that loads an external swf file. I created the external swf file using flash cs4 so I can add code to it if that is what it takes.
Here is the code I use to load my external swf:
//add button swf
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.yadayada.com/media/but_button.swf");
[Code].....
Can I have my external swf send click events to my flex application? How?
For classroom, how do I actually able to remotely control 100's PC from a master application? Like control the student who also using Flex application is possble with XMLsocket?
View 3 RepliesIs it possible to reference a control in an application from a static function?
What I have is a Viewstack containing VBoxes stored in separate controls. Ex:
<mx:ViewStack id="content" width="100%" height="100%" resizeToContent="true">
<controls:Login/>
<controls:Dash/>
[Code]....
Once I get logged in on my login control, I would like to change the selected index of my ViewStack. From my outside controls, I cannot reference my ViewStack by name. I can reference a public static function from an outside control however I cannot refer to the ViewStack from within that function.

I need write the same code in flex. I able to load swf file using swfloader but not able to pass parameter and variables.
I have a Tree Control inside my Flex Application which I want to edit on a doubleclick on a tree item. I found the properties doubleClickEnabled= "true", doubleClick="startEditMode()", and editable="true". With these functions I can detect a double click and I can change the editable property to true based on a double click. The problem is that after I double clicked on a Item i have to click once more to really enter the edit mode. That doesn't seem to be intuitive at all..
View 3 Repliesusing action script2 flash cs3, and i need more than one volume slider/control and each control needs to be assigned to one sound, atm i have more than one volume slider but they all control the same sound!
View 1 RepliesI'm having the following problem when I'm loading a swf inside a swfloader. That thing is that this subapp has a config file, and when this config file is being accessed by the subapp it throws an Security error (#2148).I thought it was the crossdomain.xml file, but it has no reestrictions:
I suppose that the subapp is trying to access a config file that is in the swf parent server insted of trying to access its own file in the server where it is installed; how to make this swfloader access its own data,
I have an application with a collection of sounds in the timeline. One sound file is recorded at a slightly lower volume than the others. I know I could change this in Audacity but I'm wondering whether I could attach a line of actionscript to its button to raise its volume slightly.I know its possible to do this when playing sounds with actionscript directly from the library, but that would be too big a departure from the development style used.
View 1 RepliesI got a code for a flash player but it only has a start and stop button . I would like to know how to add a volume control and a pause button.

View 3 RepliesI'm creating a flash presentation that contains some externally loaded video's (flv), voiceovers and a background music. I would like to be able to control all these audio streams with one control. So basically I'd like to change the volume of the entire movie. Is this possible?
I know there's something like the Sound object with a setVolume() method, but that's only to control one stream as far as I know.
Is it possible to control the volume of a swf which has been loaded using loadmovie ?
I have several loadmovie swfs on the same page so want to only have one animation play sound at the same time.
I'm super stuck on this (getting into the days catagory!) before i start, here's the link to what my XML MP3Player functions like atm;[URL]..The foundations of the AS for this player are from the gotoAndplay.com tutorials, I'm having two problems with adding this volume slider control,
Firstly the SliderBar onload position, it is positioned on the far left of the screen, you can drag it towards the player, once you get it with'in the player it functions correctly moving between the designatd left and right x values correctly, but how can i get it to load into the player rather than out to the left?
And Secondly, by this stage you may have noticed no sound, i've tried alot of different things but to no avail?
