I want to make a text highlight in flex textArea but its htmlText doesn't support <font bgcolor='#FFFF00'> part of my text </font> so I'm searching for a font witch is the opposite of Courier new, when I embed it in flash, and write with that color I get highlight effect for that part of my text , as I type <font family="negativeOfCourier" color='#FFFF00'> part of my text </font>
I have to place a flash movie into an existing layout. It is replacing placeholder image of the same size. The DIV holding the image has a negative top margin. When the flash movie is placed in the same spot there is a gap at the top of the DIV equal to the amount of negative margin. I cannot seem to get the movie to move to the top of the DIV (FF3).
check if a negative number is less than another negative number. The if condition logic seems to be in order as far as i can tell but it doesent work for some reason :
Code: public function minuscheck(testnumber:int):void { if (testnumber < -1)
I'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.
I want to use simple html and css to style a simple text field with an embedded font.... there seems to be no way. Can someone tell me how to get this to work?
My plan was to avoid trying anything with regex and create an XML object.
However if I create a new XML object containing a root node and then attempt to appendChild the htmlText string so that I have a valid XML object to manipulate I run into a problem with html entities, see example below:
<html><P ALIGN="LEFT"><FONT FACE="...
How can the font tags be stripped from htmlText and how can I create a valid XML object from the htmlText string? My plan was to use the XML replace() method
font smoothing in html text. I have embedded the font and set the font size to 12, but increasing the font size distorts the font making it blurry/hazy etc: what am i to do... i need smooth crisp looking font... mind that i have to render the text as html in dynamic
I am calling in HTML text into a dynamic textfield on stage and need to change font styles within the HTML text for my titles (to Arno Pro).I dont know HTML and think I might somehow need to embed the font I want to use?If so, do I do this in AS or the HTML text file.[code]
I'm planning a webapp. I have all the wireframes defined, the interfaces designed in photoshop, data structures etc. It will be built on php and mysql however I've been unable to decide on which technology to use as a GUI. All your insights are welcome.
The problem with going the html way is that the GUI makes use of a special font that is crucial to the visual aspect of the app. So this font is required. For headers and fixed sections I could do sfir or use images but being a webapp, the amount of dynamically generated content makes it imposible to use image replacements. Enter flash. Flash solves the font problem easily, it even adds font antialiasing and animations which makes it look even sexier. Another pro is being able to deploy as an air app to use local storage for users that have troublesome connections. This way when internet access is restored the app can sync with the main servers. BUT... flash is being ignored by major developers, this would mean the app wouldn't be accessible to mobile devices, ipads, search engines, etc and requires the installation of the flash plugin which is not that big a deal but should be considered.
I have a project that I'm working on where I want to allow a user to control some text formatting for a Flash interactive via external XML. They want to create links and bold text in paragraphs and such.Create dynamic text field on the stageGo to library, create font symbol for HelveticaNeue fontSet dynamic text field on stage to font symbol for Helvetica Neue Turn on embedding for dynamic text fieldSet HTML formatting to true on dynamic text fieldWrite out ActionScript for filling dynamic text field e.g. <b>THIS FIELD:</b> + someVariableFromXMLPublish movieBold text disappears. What am I doing wrong here? I need to make sure font symbols are present and dynamic text fields are set to embedded fonts to ensure PC/Mac font display for dynamic content for oddball non-standard fonts. Why doesn't this work? When I create the font symbol and set it to bold, STILL doesn't work.
I have a dynamically loaded html enabled text field but when I used embedded fonts from the swf. It doesn't show some of the text but when I used device fonts... (from the system) it works fine. Why is that/? Can't I use embedded fonts? with a text field with contents that are html and loaded dynamically from a text file?
I am having trouble rendering text that has html tags. I has to do with the font embedding options.I am passing a string to a field text variable (same thing happens for fieldname.htmlText) and here is what happens:let's keep it simple and say I pick Arial as my text field font.
1) If I don't embed any font outlines for that text field, the text field displays the string correctly (with the html right formatting) since my system has Arial installed.
So, I have some HTML text loaded from a text file into a dynamic text field and I'm using an embedded font to display that text.
What I would like is to get that embedded font to show the italic tagg or underline, etc... the manual say they are supported and they do work when I don't embed a font but use a standard "arial" or whatever... When I use the embedded font, the HTML tags don't work anymore, besides the one to make links... I can understand why the italic or bold don't work since I did not embed those ones and I don't see how I could assign 3 fonts to the same text field anyway... But I thought the color or underligned would work... Anyway, when I embed the fonts, I get all kind of strange buggy behaviors (like, sometimes the text doesn't wrap inside the text field box even though it's specified in the actionscript style defnition, but sometimes it does...)Is there a way to embed fonts, not within flash, but within the HTML text itself? I mean, is there a technology that allows HTML document to display fonts that are on the server's computer instead of the computer viewing the page? So I could bypass Flash embedding the font for the HTML alltogether.

I have this text "my text is <b>bold</b> and regular".
I want "<b>bold</b>" to be... well, let's say... bold !
I have a mask layer under which there is a text field.
The text field shows htmlText, and i must embed chars. If not embedded, it doesn't display because of the mask. So the solution of importing 2 user fonts ( one bold and one regular) does not work.
If you're creating a htmlText field via the createTextField method, is there a way to get html formatting like <b></b> to show up if you are also embedding a font? I'm guessing not, since you can only embed a single font in a TextFormat, and you would have to embed both italic and bold variants too to make it work. Is this true?Maybe I'm better off creating a generic text field on the stage with both bold and italics embedded, and use the attachMovie method instead? This is my code:
ActionScript Code: myformat = new TextFormat(); myformat.font = "Akzidenz_Grotesk_BE_Light";
It's what this image describes:For some reason, I cannot use bold tags to set the TLF text to bold, even though both the regular and bold fonts are embedded.so that the webpage that embeds this movie can call its function (otherwise the movie itself will be wrapped by TLF).his is not exactly a question since there is an obvious solution to this. Just set the htmlText as something like "<font face='Myriad Web Pro'><b>BOLD</b></font>" and you're done.hs issue is, why does it not render the bold text without the font tag in the first place, if I have already set the font of the TLF text in the PI?
Im using swipe on my android app and would like to define the boundary. But the container is a LOT bigger then the stage and will reach a negative value. How would I setup my if statement for this?
In my application, I allow the user to change the font of a text field. They use a combobox component to select the font. Can I change the font of each individual label in the combobox to match the font it is named? Like, Microsoft Word style.
I have a strange issue where a dynamic text field will not show a bold version of a font (Gerstner BQ) if the regular version is on the stage in a static text field.Remove the static text field and the dynamic text field displays the bold font correctlyI have created a test FLA to reproduce this and by turning the layer with the static text field on and off (Publish settings -> Flash -> include hidden layers [unchecked]), the issue is quite clearhis issue is so big for me that I have had to abandon a project in CS5 and start again in CS4 just to work around this.
I'm using Flex 4. I'm trying to apply a embedded font in all Alert components of the application, to get the same style that all the app, of course. I code in my CSS file:
[Code]...
The font-family worked to all componentes, but not to the Alert component. In alert the text message and title got unvisible. If I change to other font-family it works correctly, just the embedded font doesn't work on Alert component. Anyone got this problem? Obs: The embedded font worked in all the app, just the Alert no.
In my application I'm using a custom embedded font for English (Helvetica New) which does not contain characters (glyphs) for chinese unicode range. In the application, wherver chinese characters are avaiable they are not displayed (suppressed) since they are missing in the custom embedded font. How can I make the flash player to use a fallback system font for the missing characters? And the fallback should be for the missing characters alone. For the Engligh characters it should use the embedded font.
I have generated an swf file that contains my embedded font of specified Unicode range, then I am loading this swf into my application. The code in the generated file for the font, automatically registers the font using the Font.registerFont method. I then load this swf file into my application, I never add it to the display list, I just created an instance of the file so that the code is executed to register the font.
Then I use the font name when I create embedded text fields and there you go it works... well it used to, I am not having any luck at the moment though. Sometimes it displays fine, other times it all appears cut off and I see a few pixels of the text I am trying to display.... Anyone else had a similar issue? Know what it might be? I have created a class below that I am using for the embedded font text, any issues people see with this?
I am working on a as3 project in which the user select a font from Combo Box and that font SWF should be loaded Dynamically and then i need to change the font of the Dynamic text field.
I have swf font files downloaded from [URL]
My question is that how can i load the font swf dynamically from server and add them to the library and how can i use that swf to change the font of dynamic text field.
if there are embedded fonts in library the i can access them using this- --
var fontList:Array = Font.enumerateFonts(); for( var i:int=0; i<fontList.length; i++ ) { trace( "font: " + fontList[ i ].fontName ); }
But How to use dynamically loaded Font swf as a font type.
