View 1 RepliesI've run across several websites, including mine, that prompt users to download Flash even though their browser cannot install it. I want to avoid this confusing messaging by detecting whether a mobile browser can install Flash, not whether it has Flash.
Some known mobile browsers that can't install Flash are:
iOS Safari
Android Chrome beta
Android Firefox
Instead of building an ever-changing list of Flash installability, I would like to detect this in a general way in Javascript.
Is it possible to make game/application for mobile using flash?, I have been making flash interactive content and web using action script but never try it in mobile, if is possible, then how should i start, where thing should i take care of, like the screen size and swf file size, reloader and stuff? does the workflow the same as in doing for web? or u need other programming skill to do it? Some Mathematics question will appear in order and 4 options will be provided for each question. On the top, there will be an object. The object will move 1 step forward if the answer for the question is correct. But if the answer is wrong, there will be a popup message "try again". when the object move to the ending point. You win the game. And the timer will stop timing and record the time in the memory. And the time will be display in a high score tab.

For instance, my game right now will use a splash screen, a main menu screen, a credits screen,a settings screen, a difficulties screen, an instruction screen, an end game screen and save/load screen...and a play game screen, where the actual game will be played.I've created the screens as seperate frames in the main timeline with stop commands in between and code on each page (I know... bad!... but easy).So basically,they can navigate through the menus using buttons (mouseclicks, which will work with touchs as well) and when they are How do I pass data between them? I have a grails application using jquery mobile. I am hoping to find some way to access the camera on the devices. I thought about using flash to grab the webcam but that obviously wont work on Apple devices. Does anyone know of a way to do it and keep it all browser based? I am hoping that there is a plugin somewhere or maybe html5 has some magic in there that supports it.

View 4 RepliesI'm NOT on Snow Leopard. MacPro, Intel, 4 gigs RAM. I did have Fireworks CS4 on my Mac, but it's all uninstalled. When I try to install the entire CS3 suite, Flash will not install. When I try to install Flash all by itself, it keeps asking for the Fireworks install CD, over and over, even though FW has been uninstalled. Then, ultimately, Flash doesn't install.I tried to run the CS3 cleanup script, but the terminal won't take my password. I ran the CS4 cleanup script after I uninstalled FW, but it said there was nothing to clean up.

I click on install>agreement>continue>run etc then a dialogue box says that it couldn't install as the disc is coorupt and contact Adobe for a new one? So far I've tried changing the code in flash to say .html instead of .jpg and The lightbox keeps loading without ever finding the file.
