Iphone :: Access Mobile Device Camera From A Grails Application Using Jquery Mobile
Feb 23, 2012
I have a grails application using jquery mobile. I am hoping to find some way to access the camera on the devices. I thought about using flash to grab the webcam but that obviously wont work on Apple devices. Does anyone know of a way to do it and keep it all browser based? I am hoping that there is a plugin somewhere or maybe html5 has some magic in there that supports it.
I am creating a sqlite database for my mobile app. once the user has supplied the correct password the database is opened. Various screens of the application will need to read and write data from the db. is there a way I can make the connection global when I open it, so it can be accessed from any view?
the code I am useing to open the DB is
var sqlConnection:SQLConnection = new SQLConnection(); sqlConnection.addEventListener(SQLEvent.OPEN,sqlOpenSuccess); sqlConnection.open(DBFile, SQLMode.CREATE, false, 1024,null);
I have a flex mobile application that I am working on that I am having issues with selecting an image from roll/taking a picture. My application is not tabbed, however one part of it contains a Tabbed View Navigator with tabs across the bottom. Within one of those tabs, I have the ability to upload an image to a webservice that I have created. However, when I select an image or take the picture, it pops back out to the initial splash screen and the application restarts. If I use the component standalone (outside of the tabbed view navigator) it selects the image and uploads without any problem.
i have asked this question before but the answer received was not applicable in my situation. I searched the net and still unable to find anything. I have a game in flash actionscript 3.0 and i would like to put it on my htc hero - android phone.
Can a Flex application that was designed for use on a PC be run on an iPad, iPhone, or Android-based mobile device? Seems like a simple enough question.[URL]..yields a picture of a dude running a (presumably) Flex application on an Android. So at first glance, the answer would appear to be "yes." End of story.
There is so much (mis)information out there on various tech sites that suggest Flash-based technologies simply won't run on iOS or other mobile platforms. Why is this? Perhaps they mean to say that Flex won't run "out of the box" and requires a plugin? Or do they mean it won't run at all?
Every time I think I've reached a definitive conclusion, some post on SlashDot or CNET directly contradicts it. So what's the scoop? Can one take an existing Flex application and run it on iOS/Android? (I realize there are screen size issues to consider so the app might not run effectively. I just want to know if the runtimes are available on the mobile devices to allow the Flex app to launch at all.)
how to save score/level/etc. information for a game on a mobile device?I'm still unsure how to read/write files in the apk (Android).Basically, I want to allow the player to save his progress at some point so that they can restore it later.
Just wondering if anyone knew ofhand the AS3 code to detect whether a user is using a mobile device, so they can be redirected to the HTML version of my flash website.
I am pretty fresh into working with mobile at all here but i am having no luck finding solid info on the basic principles of file saving/loading locally on a mobile device (specifically android).
Is there a unique device ID that I can use in Flash Builder/AS3 to differentiate between devices in a Flex mobile project? I am trying to circumvent having to code a login/registration system.
Tried stage.stageWidth and stageHeight on applicationComplete, but for some reason the actual numbers returned do not seem to be accurate - the image always appears off-centered (stageWidth/2 - imageWidth/2). How do you determine the mobile device's actual screen size, to center an object?
I'm trying to prevent keyboard show when I click Textinput field on my device. I use Textinput only to show some text and for click event (to push a view).
How do you scroll an editable TextArea (Flex Hero) on a touch device? I am referring to the situation where the text does not fit in the TextArea height. When I try to tap and drag the text gets selected and not scrolled... Am I missing a something here? I am using verticalScrollPolicy = on (also tried auto).I am testing the code in the Blackberry Playbook simulator (my targeted device for my app).
Recently I went thru the code for accessing the camera using flash ActionScript3 and I have tested the code in iMac machine, iPhone and Android. Now based on this, I am developing an application for Android which includes the accessibility of the front camera. Now my Problem is I dont know how to access the front camera? We should use some other code or should we specify which camera should be accessed? First of all, can we access the front camera thru flash?
A while ago I developed a flash app that takes pictures from the users webcam, I recently bought a android tablet device (flash capable), but the flash app do not find the camera of the tablet, any way I can modify my flash app in order to "see" the tablet's camera?
I have a website [URL]. I added a flash mp3 player that plays a sound clip when you go to the page. I know Flash doesn't work on the iPhone OS, but is there a way to get this type of mp3 player to work on an iPhone? I'm thinking maybe a javascript mp3 player. What I would ultimately want is to replace my flash mp3 player with a different mp3 player and have it so the player is available on Windows and Mac computers as well as iPhone devices.
I would like to move (right or left according the current view) between 2 views when I move my finger on the mobile screen; for example with Google+ mobile application, in profil section, you can change the view just on move your finger on the screen, and the offset and the moving speed must be checked before change complete view.
how to use filters (specifically a glow filter) on a mobile devices (specifically the iPhone) when using GPU rendering and high resolution. At the time, there was no answer... filters were unsupported. Period.
I can report that I have gotten a color matrix filter for desaturation AND a glow filter working on the iPhone and the iPad using GPU rendering and high resolution.
The solution, in a nut shell is as follows:
1: Create your display object... ie: a sprite.2. Apply your filter to the sprite like you normally would.3. Create a new bitmapdata and then draw that display object into the bitmap data.4. Put the new bitmapdata into a bitmap and then put it on the stage or do what you want.
When you draw the display object into the bitmapdata, it will draw it WITH THE FILTER!So even if you put your display object onto the stage, the filter will not be visible, but the new bitmapdata will!
Here is a sample app I created and tested on the iphone and ipad
I'm writing a simple game based on my physics engine for Android (in Java). Because I want to play with some special graphic effects performance is very important for me. I read on the Internet that you can write an application in ActionScript3 and then just export it as an iPhone/iPad or Android application. That means, I wouldn't have to rewrite everything from Java to Objective-C if I wanted to make version also for iPhone. Do you have any experience with writing games in ActionScript3 for both Android and iPhone/iPad? Are there any significant advantages / disadvantages?
Can we develop flex mobile project that runs in both android and iphone. Also I want to know , can we use all the device capabilities of both android and iphone in same project
I have made one one mobile application in flash builder using flex mobile project I have a question that "why size of an .ipa file is large as I export a mobile application as iOS application.???? in compare to that same application for android takes small size!
I want to load a flex application in mobile flex application and also i want it to interact with the parent application. Right now I am trying to load the swf with swfLoader in mobile app, but it gives me security error. And also should I want the parent application to be generic in terms of child application as in down the line if someone wants he can have another child application with same name run.
How can i maintain DPI resolution calculation for various device and UI management for eg,iPhone having action bar at top/bottom , iPad app has control bar component instead. Is it possible to maintain application in SINGLE CODE BASE.
I'm making a mobile application with abobe air and flex.I want to know if it's possible to do it without ViewNavigator, or at least for some part, use something else.
I'm quite new to developing in Flex. I've found out that it's possible to create mobile applications with Flex 4.5. So far so good, I've made an app and it's working well on my mobile phone. But there is one thing that I'm not very happy with. When I'm installing the app I also have to install Adobe Air (stand alone application). So is not realy cool and not the way to go in my opinion because this will look strange to the users of the app. And especially the users which aren't realy 'geek minded'.
Any solutions to this? Is it possible to include or embed Air in the app? It will make the filesize of the app bigger but that's a much smaller problem then having to install a complete different app next to the real app.All the best from NL.
I can't seem to find any way to force it to go landscape mode all the time. When I go to MyApp-app.xml and edit the <aspectRatio></aspectRatio> tags to landscape, only the main view is landscaped. If I navigate to the second view, it turns back to portrait.
