View 1 RepliesI'm working on a simple website for A level ICT and am having some difficulties. My site has a javascript based drop down menu, as well as two .swf files embedded. When the drop down buttons in the menu are scrolled over, the .swf files disappear.index1.jpg is a screenshot of the page normally, index2.jpg is a screenshot when the menu link is scrolled over.I am also having difficulties with flash working with java on another page, the same .swf files do not fade into the background like the rest of the page when images are enlarged in a javascript gallery within the page. gallery.jpg shows this.
View 2 RepliesI have a first SWF, the interface, which loads external SWFs, the pages, throughattachMovie. The pages themselves contain clickable buttons. What I am trying to do is enable and disable the buttons on the pages, without altering the code of the pages. I can only change the contents of the interface.I have tried using a blocker, a movieclip with :
onrelease = function() {};
onpress = function() {};
useHandCursor = false;
[code]....
An image says a thousand words:URL...A flash object in a CKEditor dialog is being blocked by the IFrame element. This only happens on Chrome. I have tried changing the z-index, that didn't work at all.
View 1 RepliesI just finished creating/testing and uploading a flash file to my media server. However because I wanted it to stay a constant size and centred on peoples screens I embedded the flash file into an html page using dreamweaver. Everything still worked fine except for one function. My contact movie clip (mail_mc) had a getURL function ("mailto:etcetc");
View 1 RepliesI have a client-server multigame suite for PC ("kind of" cross-platform using cygwin), which is developed in Java(game menus and database management), C++ (server side), and adobe Flash (game graphics & interaction).
I have never tried to develop for android, so i have no experience.I am thinking of migrating this suite to google TV. So i would like someone with android experience to give a clue on the following :
1) Is it going to be easy to migrate the Java application to an Android application?
2) What kind of Flash support does Android have? Can it load directly swf applications? Does it have to load swf's through browser?
3) Can i find any kind of performance indexes for google TV hardware?
I need to load somehow the html code of a webpage A into a javascript string of another webpage B, on a different host. I know this is impossible to do with javascript alone because of the same origin policy, and I know I could do it loading the page via php on my server and then send results back to the user's client but I wouldn't be able to handle so many requests, so I need it to be done directly by the user's browser. I can use nearly whatever browser scripting language/applet framework common enough to be installed on the majority of my users' computers, like flash and java.On example, what if I use flash or java to load the external html code and then call a javascript callback function providing the source? Could this work?
View 2 RepliesIf one doesn't have the source code, the only to test is to send keystroke and mouse move so I found this product but it's not free and opensource price is not even known :([URL] Squish supports automating interactions and testing non-HTML/DOM elements, that is, native objects, which are embedded in a web page. This is done at a fairly abstract level, which means that mouse and text input can be recorded and replayed.
In addition it is possible to inspect embedded native objects with the Spy tool and to insert verifications for these native objects. All of a native object's public properties can be accessed in test scripts.
i am wondering how do i block people from downloading my flash videos?is it in the HTML code or a server setting??
View 12 RepliesI have a couple of buttons that slide up and down, when in the up state I add an X graphic to symbolize a a close button. However the X graphic seems to be blocking my button action.I have an example in the movie I've been working on >> here <<.There are 2 movies here, the big one if you click either blue tab you will see what I'm talking about, X button shows up, but clicking over the X area will not drop the button down. You have to click on blue button area to drop the button back down.Now I've made a smaller test movie adding the X button basically the same way and if you will notice it works fine (will animate to the right even if you click over the X graphic)Here is my code in the Big movie (I hid the tween code so it won't be so long):
function handleButtonClick(event:MouseEvent):void {
var button:MovieClip=event.target as MovieClip;
var id:Number=Number(button.name.split("button")[1]);
[code]....
I'm wondering wether there's a Javascript way to detect wether a user has any sort of flash blocking plugin installed so i can accommodate these users properly. For example, I use 'click to flash', but sites that use SiFR to render text are littered with "click to flash" buttons, which is getting very annoying. I don't use SiFR in my designs for this reason. But if I could spot wether there's a flash blocking plugin installed, I would simply not call the SiFR function.
View 1 RepliesI have a flex application that repeatedly polls a remote XML file to detect changes, but I've found that once the file hits a certain size, the poll blocks the UI and makes the page unresponsive for a short time.
Is there any way to ensure that the call made to the server or the event from the flash.utils.Timer class runs asynchronously to the main UI thread?
I have a website with a flash image viewer. Once user clicks on flash button, I need to give a confirmation modal dialog before saving the file and if user clicks on OK only I have to pop file download dialog. Confirmation dialog with in flash is not an option for me. So I have to invoke JS function to pop a confirmation.Within the site, a custom DHTML confirmation modal dialog is used and it has two JS callback functions one for "OK" and the other for "Cancel" button click event handers. I have to use this modal dialog for this need.With Flash player 10 security features, it is unable to pop flash file download dialog via JavaScript
View 1 RepliesHow do you get the information bar to stop blocking the active X control for a flash movie in IE.when I am in fire fox, it just starts the flash movie. Right in the HTML page. But with IE, the info bar at the top pops up, and blocks my flash movie.Then you have to click on it, and say that you want to activate the active X on the page. Is there anyway to stop this from happening. I remember, using IE, that not all flash is blocked, just the stuff that I make.
View 7 RepliesI searched for this a lot, but I couldn't find a solution for this 'bug' as it's called here:click on first flash, and use mouse wheel, then click on second flash and use mouse wheel again. Now You know perfectly what 'bug' I mean.The thing is, I believe this bug can be solved WITHOUT externalinterface. This chat is made with AS 3:pen 'codebox', hold ENTER to make a hundred of lines or so, and then test your mouse wheel.It doesn't use any externalinterface technique (both obviously as it's Kongregate, and confirmed by author), just mx.component.textArea that itself implements the scrolling nicely.I couldn't achieve that with even.preventDefault or stopPropagation.
View 1 RepliesI'm working on a Flash project and someone recommended Red5 as a media streaming server. Do I need to know java to use build applications that use Red5 as their server?
View 2 RepliesI've got a strange thing in attached fla: my gotoAndStop command won't go past a photo?First I've got the 'background' layer. On it is a red rectangle on frame 1 and 2. Frame 3 changes it into a jpg.
On the actions layer I've got a gotoAndStop(4), which should show the photo and trace a command. But it won't get past the red square? It's like the jpg photo blocks the gotoandStop(or Play for that matter) command. It doesn't trace to prove that the gotoAndStop command is executed on frame 4 and it keeps showing the red square on frame 1 and 2. Where it should show the photo which has already been placed on frame 3. when I replace the photo with a normal Flash shape (rectangle e.g.) it works fine.
I am creating a very simple interaction. I have a symbol as a moviclip which I can move around the screen using the arrow keys. I want to block certain parts of the stage so that the movieclip cannot pass into them. For example if I have a fence on the stage I don't want the movieclip to move over the fence I want it to stop when it reaches it. This will keep the user moving in the directions that i want, lead them toward another area of interaction.
View 2 RepliesI have an animation, when i preview it looks fine, but when i use the timeline to scroll through the animation (and when i export as .avi) - there's this strange white bar over the text! I have tried to remove the object from the library, but then the text disappears (also when i preview)
If you wonna check it out, the .fla file is here (5mb) : [URL]
I am a .NET Developer, but the question I am having is not related to .NETPlease keep this in mind even if my question sounds very trivial.This is my question:We have an swf in the browser, which communicates with a java extensionIts done using Smartfox Server(Used for MMO apllications)From the swf we are grabbing a portion of the screen as "Byte Array" in action script(3).And in Java, we are calling a function that converts the ByteArray to Image and then saves it.ur Java developer is encountering the errorSo basically, what I would like to know is this:How to accept the object type Byte Array from ActionScript in Java?Whats Java object type that is mapped to Byte Array in ActionScript?The conversion part is easy, I dare say. code in the ActionScript Section
public function savePhoto(uName:String, ba:ByteArray, descr:String):void{
var obj:Object = {};
obj.arr = ba;

I tried with flex and java in the backend. In this, I am able to upload files till 100 MB using remote object (blazeDs) where we will read the file as byte array and send it to the java method. If the file size exceeds after that, then I get the run time error in IE.
View 1 RepliesI could play MIDI file where "filename" is a String type with "asd.mid" value. However, I tried to sent AIR's nativeprocess command to Java, it shown "could not read" error.

Meaning specifically, what steps do you go through when creating a new application using these tools?
View 1 RepliesI am using Flex 3 and make a call through a RemoteObject to a Java 1.6 method and exposed with BlazeDS and Spring 2.5.5 Integration over a SecureAMFChannel. The ActionScript is as follows (this code is an example of the real thing which is on a separate dev network);

I'm building a Facebook multiplayer game where the client side is in FLEX and the server side is in Java and I wanted to know if there is a guide on how to build the server clients managing system. When I say server clients managing system, I mean a server which many clients will connect to and will be able to choose between tables to join and play or to create their own table, same way as in texas holdem poker.
View 1 Repliesi am working on a flex+java combined project.My IDE and computer configuration is as follows:
[Code]...
When i make a small change in Flex code (eg, reposition of a button...anything), and run the project on server, it does make any change on output. Actually it depends on my luck... because it makes change in output randomly.what is is happening? tried rebuild, republish, clean , restart server, restarting the IDE, restarting the computer all available feature i could think. Also, i created a simple flex project on IDE and compiled it..... everything is compiled and displayed on output.
Right away i just try to explain my problem: Using BlazeDS i got the following Javaclasses:
[Code]...
Then i got a Flex service class calling BlazeDS and executing the getCategories java method. Since Flash dosn't seem to understand typed arrays, the result from that method which i get back in flex is a simple array of untyped objects (the mapping dosn't seem to work here, even tought the class category exists in flex and has the same properties).
thats the first thing. but however, i'm converting the untyped objects manually into objects of the category.as class. the second thing is that categories have child-categories within the java object, which are also ArrayLists of the type category.java. the problem about that: my result event object only contains the first level of categories, looking into them the children are allways null. i dunno why they are empty, since they ARE part of the java object category.
and the third thing (the strangest by fast), you maybe noticed i named the properties of the category.java class strange, like idCat and nameTest instead of simply id and name. why that? because the property names of my flex result objects dont seem to change when i change the java objects properties names (result object properties are named "id" and "name" but the java class object properties are named "idCAT" and "nameTEST"). that it REALLY strange, since if i set the properties, like you see at nameTEST = "TESTNAME" it IS recogniced by flex, only the proertyNAMES dont seem to be recognized at all.

I'm using Flash 4 and AS2;I've composed the code such that my MC (called hole) will turn slowly upon entering the first frame:
var hole:MovieClip;
this.createEmptyMovieClip("rotator_mc", this.getNextHighestDepth());
rotator_mc.onEnterFrame = function() {
hole._rotation += 1;
};
Then, on frame 55 I have:
rotator_mc.removeMovieClip();
to stop the clip. After that, I animated "hole" on the timeline to shrink... but when I play my movie, the timeline animation doesn't happen.
I've been creating a calculator as part of an assignment. I've created button instances in actionscript and then putting a text field over it. The problem is the text field blocks my button so it is difficult to press.exaple code:
var equals_btn:equals = new equals();equals_btn.x = 247;equals_btn.y = 369.9;equals_btn.width = 115;equals_btn.height = 45;this.addChild(equals_btn);
var equalText = new TextField();equalText.x = 276.1;equalText.y = 349.9;equalText.width =

I have various buttons on stage that will initiate a popup box upon hover. But some of the pop up boxes are too big and covers some buttons which disables the button.Is there anyway around this? Logically, when a button isn't hovered, its popup box shouldn't cover what's underneath it. I have tried moving the layers around, although this works, but now the buttons are on top of the pop-up boxes which is no good.
