ActionScript 2.0 :: Stop Blocking The Active X Control For A Flash Movie In IE?

How do you get the information bar to stop blocking the active X control for a flash movie in IE.when I am in fire fox, it just starts the flash movie. Right in the HTML page. But with IE, the info bar at the top pops up, and blocks my flash movie.Then you have to click on it, and say that you want to activate the active X on the page. Is there anyway to stop this from happening. I remember, using IE, that not all flash is blocked, just the stuff that I make.

I have a winForm panel that has a flash ative x control embedded in it. This works pretty well.I load the form, add the flash control to the form, then load the .swf file that I wish to play. However, I have a few issues. There is a button in the swf file that is loaded that is marked with an 'x' to denot that it should close the flash plugin.When this button is clicked it pops an internet explorer window and then shows an error dialog box that says: "Internet Explorer cannot download . Unspecified error"There is also a 'Continue' button in the flash movie that shows when the movie is over, and it produces the same behavior when the button is clicked.
For this project we are trying to aviod the usage of the WebBrowser control to host the flash video.Does anyone have any solutions that would allow the application to handle a call that opens a new internet explorer window?EDIT: I have found more details as to what specifically the issue is. The flash file (.swf) has an embedded call to IE:javascript:window.close()This particular call is causing the IE window to pop and then fail. We do not have the ability to change the flash file, is there anyway to handle this call from the windows form and stop it from happening?

I have a flash/Actionscript 3 application (swf). This application sends a message to a server every 2 seconds. However, in some browsers/operating systems (for example, safari in mac), the moment the browser loses focus, it stops sending these messages.I send these messages in a EVENT. ENTER_ FRAME loop, so every time the application is rendered I have the chance to send a message. My theory is that some browsers apperantly stop callling this method/stop rendering for some reason, because it has lost focus. However, I want to keep sending these messages. I already tried to use a Timer, an event that would be called every 2 seconds, but I read somewhere (and my tests seem to agree) that this timer is also connected to the rendering/frame entering, so that timed function will also not be executed.

im trying to navigate through a movie clip and stop at frame labels using individual buttons to call to individual labels while being able to see the on the way to the frame(for a blurred effect).my goal is to jump from point A to point F to point Z and see all the frames in between and visa versa.

I have a Flash movie and a list of links. The links display underneath the Flash movie. It works in IE but not FireFox:http:[url]..........Here are the layers: layer 1 is flash content, layer 2 is the links:

The Flash movie is simply a graphic with a transparent spot in the middle.I've attached the fla, swf, and html files as well. I'm using swfObject for the embedding of the Flash content.

Is it possible to control a Flash movie from JS when you have no control over the source? I have decompiled the movie to see its inner workings, but I know nothing about Flash, so I'm mostly in the dark. The movie was designed in several flash files, each has been combined into a single movie clip and then all the movie clips have been moved into the master document.
Each movie clip is on a single slide.
They play through and when a clip reached the end I have used the actionscript root.gotoAndPlay(x) where x is the slide number of the next clip in the sequence as such my timeline looks like this[code]...

I'm working on a simple website for A level ICT and am having some difficulties. My site has a javascript based drop down menu, as well as two .swf files embedded. When the drop down buttons in the menu are scrolled over, the .swf files disappear.index1.jpg is a screenshot of the page normally, index2.jpg is a screenshot when the menu link is scrolled over.I am also having difficulties with flash working with java on another page, the same .swf files do not fade into the background like the rest of the page when images are enlarged in a javascript gallery within the page. gallery.jpg shows this.

I just finished creating/testing and uploading a flash file to my media server. However because I wanted it to stay a constant size and centred on peoples screens I embedded the flash file into an html page using dreamweaver. Everything still worked fine except for one function. I recently added a function that removes the eventListeners of these buttons so that you cannot click them while the tweens are happening (I was having major tween issues: stopped tweens etc) and then adds the listeners back when the tweens are done. However, after clicking through the site for a little while the active, clickable area of the button changes! I have no clue why this would be happening.

However, after clicking through the site for a little while the active, clickable area of the button changes! I have no clue why this would be happening. This was not an issue before I created the function that removes the listeners so I assume that is the problem, but have no clue as to why. I am attaching the code for the tween functions for moveLeft and moveRight, the remove listeners function, and one button function.

I have a couple of buttons that slide up and down, when in the up state I add an X graphic to symbolize a a close button. However the X graphic seems to be blocking my button action.I have an example in the movie I've been working on >> here <<.There are 2 movies here, the big one if you click either blue tab you will see what I'm talking about, X button shows up, but clicking over the X area will not drop the button down. You have to click on blue button area to drop the button back down.Now I've made a smaller test movie adding the X button basically the same way and if you will notice it works fine (will animate to the right even if you click over the X graphic)Here is my code in the Big movie (I hid the tween code so it won't be so long):

I'm wondering wether there's a Javascript way to detect wether a user has any sort of flash blocking plugin installed so i can accommodate these users properly. For example, I use 'click to flash', but sites that use SiFR to render text are littered with "click to flash" buttons, which is getting very annoying. I don't use SiFR in my designs for this reason. But if I could spot wether there's a flash blocking plugin installed, I would simply not call the SiFR function.
