C# :: Handle Embedded Flash Active X Control Script Errors?

I have a winForm panel that has a flash ative x control embedded in it. This works pretty well.I load the form, add the flash control to the form, then load the .swf file that I wish to play. However, I have a few issues. There is a button in the swf file that is loaded that is marked with an 'x' to denot that it should close the flash plugin.When this button is clicked it pops an internet explorer window and then shows an error dialog box that says: "Internet Explorer cannot download . Unspecified error"There is also a 'Continue' button in the flash movie that shows when the movie is over, and it produces the same behavior when the button is clicked.
For this project we are trying to aviod the usage of the WebBrowser control to host the flash video.Does anyone have any solutions that would allow the application to handle a call that opens a new internet explorer window?EDIT: I have found more details as to what specifically the issue is. The flash file (.swf) has an embedded call to IE:javascript:window.close()This particular call is causing the IE window to pop and then fail. We do not have the ability to change the flash file, is there anyway to handle this call from the windows form and stop it from happening?
I have a tilelist component using a custom ImageCell based item renderer. I know that at times some of the images it is trying to retrieve will not be found and I am able to handle this via an IEOrror listener on the custom ImageCell loader.However, if I set the data provider, then it is changed before all images have completed their loading or error process, the flash debug player throws up an unhandled #2044 error in firefox stating that an image could not be found. In opera with the debug player it throws a #2044 stating that a load never completed.I can't find a way to trap and ignore these errors so they don't throw the debugger player dialogue up. Also, when using the Flash Builder IDE to debug, the debugger doesn't break on these errors at all - it's only in the player while I'm able to break on other errors without problem.It is as if the error listener is being disposed of when the dataprovider changes, but the loader continues and throws an unhandled #2044.
I would like your advices on how to handle loading errors which is dependent on network or maybe timeouts from server. I have a game hosted on a dedicated server but it seems that some users from different locations are experiencing loading errors.Is there anyway we can detect a timed-out loading? How should one handle loading errors for an online game in general depending on network connection? For example, loading of game assets etc.
I have a flex application and have embedded a flash (SWF) file into it using <mx:SWFLoader>. There is an "Exit" button on the Flash file. I want to be able to handle the button click event on the flex application.
So when that button in the flash file is clicked, I want to perform an action in the parent flex application.

How do you get the information bar to stop blocking the active X control for a flash movie in IE.when I am in fire fox, it just starts the flash movie. Right in the HTML page. But with IE, the info bar at the top pops up, and blocks my flash movie.Then you have to click on it, and say that you want to activate the active X on the page. Is there anyway to stop this from happening. I remember, using IE, that not all flash is blocked, just the stuff that I make.
From the Sound Class information, it says to use the SoundMixer Class to handle embedded Sound Files. I have two sound files embedded, that I have setup in 2 separate layers, starting at frame one in the main timeline. I needed to do this so I could see the wave files, and coordinate text with the waves. I do not want to load these files into the .swf file at runtime using URLRequest. How do I get a handle on those as they exist, to make each controllable by separate volume and mute controls for each sound?
This will be a challenging question, because, "it can't be done" doesn't work for me. I managed to create a way to use an external classfile to control the main timeline, the ROOT timeline, without having to create a sub movie to root. I can use my component to call play(); as though it were in code in a frame. But it isn't, it's in an external classfile. I passed root to the classfile and told the classfile to think of it as a movieclip - that put the handle on it. I tried similar way with root as a Sound, but that isn't detailed enough - I need to get a handle on the frame that contains the embedded sound file. I embedded, attached it, using the properties view for the frame.
I've attached, or whatever you want to call it, these sound files to a frame, and this frame is or should be attached to the layer I've created. So, under the assumption that the ROOT has everything attached to it in some manner (it is after all the foundation for the COM), the stage of the root contains the visual components, so ROOT has to have the layer objects attached to it, which should have the frame objects attached to the layers. I have two layers that each have a .wav file attached to frame one. Somehow Flash keeps track of that - I want to know how Flash does it so I can read what flash reads.
I am using swf object to embed a swf into a html page. When I compile the swf there are no errors yet when I embed it into a web page i keep getting thrown either one of these two errors the first time the page loads in Safari and Chrome TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference at tracks/loadFlashvars()[code]In firefox I get thrown the same errors everytime the page loads. My swf loads other swfs and and they have XML loaders I thought maybe it could be something to do with the base swf not being fully loaded before the code is run so I have been playing around with setTimeout(); to try and make a work around but I am unsure if this is correct or if my embed code is wrong, which you can see below.URL...

I have some multiframe swf file and I want to have control of them. For example, I can use gotoandplay and gotoandstop functionality.
I tried something like: var m:MovieClip = new movieFire() as MovieClip; but it turns out when I tried to get totalFrames, m.totalFrames, it gives me zero, and gotoand* functions don't work either. How can I correctly control the swf file embedded in actionsript 3.0 (No Flex component)?
I'm creating a scrollbar gallery from a tutorial on this site. Though I've completed the tutorial, and customised the gallery to my own needs, however I'm trying to make a very small change to it - and no matter what I do, keep running into problems. I'm trying to replace the rectangular handle with my own customised handle - a (20 x 20) 'circular' png image that I've imported into Flash, made a graphic and stored in the library (though I understand it can be imported using actionscript, like the other images in the gallery).
Is there a way to control the sound of an embedded flv in a flash movie? I haven't seen any tutorials on controlling the sound volume for an embedded video vs. netstream.
I am using an embedded flash movie in my web page. I would like to show some alerts on the page when the movie has played for x seconds, pause the movie while the user views and dismisses the alert and start playing the movie again after that (or the user can press the play button, not important). The important parts being - the app being able to find out if x secs worth of movie has played, pausing the movie then and showing an alert. Is this possible using a php/javascript code within the web page? Or will I have to do this within the flash movie itself?

Im creating a microsite which loads external SWFs with embedded FLVs in their timeline (each SWF has its own preloader). To control their audio (mute/unmute buttun), I have encoded & imported the FLVs & their audio tracks seperately in the SWFs. I'm controlling the audio tracks by attached them from library through the sound object.
Issue:
The FLV & audio run synced when I play them together in timeline. But they go off-sync when I play the audio though AS, rest assured that FLV & SWF have the same fps. I have even tried encoding the FLV at both the source video fps & SWF fps.[code]...
I'm having a little trouble with finding anything about making a slider to control a embedded Movie Clip... I think it may be because a slider is actually a movie clip object which is why nothing is coming up when i search the keywords i want....
I'm looking for a tutorial on how to create a slider to control the frames/time of a embedded movie clip using as3. Essentially I'm looking to recreate a thing like on the YouTube video player, but it wont need to have anything to do with buffering, just a way of pausing/playing a movie clip from a particular frame or time position.
I have embedded a flv video into my timeline, it uses the flv playback component to play and the SteelExternalAll.swf skin. I would like to control this flv using buttons that I have created that are postioned next to the video player. Ideally, these buttons would be thumbnails, similar to chapter thumbnails on DVDs and would serve a very similar function. As these thumbnail buttons are always present, I want them to change while the movie plays, I think a border around the currently playing would suffice.
The video is nearly 3 mins long, I have made cue points from Sorenson Squeeze.
A method I've used many times on AS2, is not working in AS3. I'm using a gotoAndPlay command within an Event.ENTER_FRAME loop to go to a particular frame on the timeline that holds a movieclip containing a looping movieclip.

It successfully moves the timeline to the "goright" and "goleft" labels, but the problem I'm having is that it never gets past the first frame of the embedded movieclip - clearly because it is resetting the mc every time the onEnterFrameHandler is called.

I have a button calling volumeChange onRelease, but when I trace videoSound.getVolume() in volumeChange, it comes up as undefined. However, if I trace videoSound.getVolume() after I define videoSound, it comes up as 100, but any attempt to use videoSound.setVolume in initNetStream is futile.

im working on my own site im lost though i copyed and pasted so much but i cant seem to figer somthing out.i have a members sys sitting on a few frames every thing works. but the profile button, i have a total of 11 buttons that are working. i coppyed them put them all on 1 frame with there own instances that contain 3 frames?the first frame is the not active frame the 2ed is the active and 3ed is blank so it wont show. so my login code at this point is

I made a flash mp3 player and it works fine in any other test pages. but when i embed it onto my site it just shows blank. what do i do? my site is [URL] and the flash player i tested here [URL] and it plays. What im i doing wrong? i tryed everything. right now i just got it in a iframe but i dont want that iframe.
I have a window component on my main timeline that gets called up on several instances. When the popup window appears, everything looks fine, except that the user can still click on links that are now behind the actual popup window itself. My question is how do I keep those buttons from being active while the popup window is active?
Is it possible to control a Flash movie from JS when you have no control over the source? I have decompiled the movie to see its inner workings, but I know nothing about Flash, so I'm mostly in the dark. I found this resource, Interaction with JavaScript, but it's not working for me (probably because I don't know what message to send to the movie).
I am having an issue with making a flash banner clickable. I cant figure out why. I had this site developed by a programmer and he has the site in php with includes files (so the header is in an "includes" folder at the root of my server and the index.php and banner.swf is at the very root of my server).Anyhow, can someone please a take a look at this page and tell me why the banner isn't active to[url]...?[code]...
