View 1 RepliesI have a HTML page that contains a flash file and some a JavaScript function that returns the object of the flash file.So far I can call the JavaScript function from C# and have it return an Object, but I want to cast it as AxShockwaveFlash and access the COM Object directly from C#.I have seen this done with Windows Media Player imbedded in the a HTML page, but it doesn't seem to work with flash.[code]When I try to cast the Object to AxShockwaveFlash it fails, but I have seen it work casting the object to WindowsMediaPlayer.I tried to find if AxShockwaveFlash supports QueryInterface calls, as per the error message but Google returned nothing of value.
View 1 RepliesI have two applications. In one application the web browser control shows a flash movie that is embedded and in the other it does not, only shows place holder. I have identical code in both constructors to load a web control dynamically and then navigate to the requested web page.
I run both application in debug mode from within VS2010.
Here is the issue. I'm making a web browser for my 3 year old so that I can specify which sites he can go to and make it easy for him to get to those sites. One of the sites that I have specified is the Disney Junior site. However, when I load up that site in the WebBrowser control the flash is kinda wonky. This is the only flash site that does this. The top and side nav are like twice the size they should be. This has happened on multiple machines, so it's not just my dev box. Also, the site looks just fine in IE9. I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what is happening, but I'm running dry on ideas.
At first I though it had something to do with zoom in IE, so I created a new control inherited from the WebBrowser control and added a zoom property, but that didn't fix it. Then I thought maybe the User Agent string might be an issue so I tried modifying it to no avail ... plus it turns out that the WebBrowser control identifies itself as IE9 anyway ... so that's not it. I've thought about using GeckoFX or Webkit.NET, but those projects are both way out of date, so I would rather use something more modern like the built in IE control (ironic, I know)
I need to turn off/on all the sound for a flash animation. The flash control contains a layer named sounds that has 5 sounds associated with it in keyframes at different time. How can I simply turn on/off everything using a symbol button.

View 2 RepliesI am trying to make myself a simple metacafe uploader, and I am using the webbrowser to do that. Everything was working great with loggin in, navigating to upload page etc... I used the HtmlElement and setAttribute/Invoke to click and set the text fields:

Now I have a problem. To upload a video to metacafe, you first need to click on a flash button caleld Upload. There, a window appears to select a file, and after you press OK, the upload begins and you can enter the form information. My question is this: How can I enter the video file without seeing a popup window? Knowing that it's flash . Here is how the flash object looks: [URL] Above I copied only the part from the upload page that it's important to me. As you can see, a simple flash file appears. Now I want to simulate the click/enter of file without showing the file window.
How can i disable the menu of flash player when I'm navigating a flash file with WebBrowser ?

Unfortunately, Mr. K wasn't very specific, and all he left behind for people reading his question was that he "got the handle and then iterated through the handles." I'm not extremely sure what he meant by that. I iterated through all visible handles using EnumWindows to no avail, as that did not return a window that was a flash window.
EDIT: I've just settled on inserting an SWF Object into my form and posting messages to the handle of that.
I'd started a discussion about a problem with a SWF file not loading an XML data file when rendered in a .NET WebBrowser control (see here)Further investigation has revealed that if the XML data file is loaded using Action Script 2 (via XML.load()), it works. But if the SWF file in question uses Action Script 3 (via URLLoader.load(), I think), the data file is NOT loaded, UNLESS the XML file is in the same folder as the HTML file.
If either SWF file is loaded using Internet Explorer 9, then everything works OK.Are there any know issues (which would be apparently well-hidden from Internet search engines, because we've been beating on those) regarding the performance of SWF + Action Script 3 + .NET WebBrowser?
how to put mp3 which is just speaches done, be put alone in a flash file. Do i have to import sound? I wanted to be able to put 3 different mp3 files in flash and have people able to click on any sound and hear it. Be able to play and start and pause a sound. Is it possible are should I use something other than flash. Are should I convert to mp3 into another format and put in flash.
View 4 RepliesHow do you get the information bar to stop blocking the active X control for a flash movie in IE.when I am in fire fox, it just starts the flash movie. Right in the HTML page. But with IE, the info bar at the top pops up, and blocks my flash movie.Then you have to click on it, and say that you want to activate the active X on the page. Is there anyway to stop this from happening. I remember, using IE, that not all flash is blocked, just the stuff that I make.

But I don't want a malicious user to be able to load an SWF file in place of the image, such as with an altered extension "maliciousSwf.png". Well, not sure how big a security threat that is above and beyond the ability of the hacker to decompile swf, but I think that ideally such behavior should not be allowed.
So, is there any way to prevent this? When people allow users to load images in their Flash apps, do they somehow guard against loading of SWF? Or is this really absolutely no big deal?
How would you defer loading of other graphics on the page until after the images in a Flash gallery's images.xml file are finished loading?Is there any way to detect for this, or would I only be able to check if the flash swf object is finished loading? I'm pretty sure the swf object would be loaded/ready as with document.getElementById('flashobject').onload = function(){}; before the corresponding images have loaded though, instead of after.

the problem is that when you open the swf it starts downloading the hole flash site and when you press enter the site is already loaded and you can't see the progress bar of the preloader..i want only the 1 frame of the main scene to be loded, then i want i to stop loading (downloading) the SWF file until enter is pressed.when enter is pressed i want the flash site to be loaded and so you can see the preloader in action..can i put some code on the action layer on the 1 frame that stops loading the movie (the first frame is loaded and the blur effect of the logo plays).and another code on the second frame (where the preloader is visible) that starts the donwloading again?
I have a flash file that I want to embed on a webpage, however, I want it to load when the user clicks on it (which will run the preloader) - (like clicking play on a youtube video)It's one flash file that loads in XML data and is graphically heavy.I'm not sure if the only way to do it is to load the flash file through another swf, i.e., flash container -> click flash container to load flash file with preloader.

So while flash is downloading the mp3 file the browser reports the page like it's still loading. Which I understand, there are still active downloads. But a client wants me to somehow tell the browser not to show this progress (like the circle in chrome) for the files the player downloads.
View 1 RepliesI have an old .fla file that has been working fine for a year. None of the javascript, xml, or actionscript has changed, and all of a sudden the Flash is not loading the images in IE6. It works fine in ALL other browsers, even IE7 and IE8.
Has anyone run into this problem before?

View 1 RepliesExplaination: MX 04' Pro Thumbnail Nav. loading images with XML Loader resizes and displays images when users click on Nav. reading XML Problem: Users click Thumbnail Nav. first image gets loaded and loader resizes to image. However the next choice by user on thumbnail click, the second image doesnt get resized in the loader. It goes beyond holder. Here is my code for Thumbnail and Loader:

Now the first image loads fine and the loader sizes to file from XML. However, when users click second choice from Thumbail the loader doesnt resize to new image size. It only gets resized on the first selction or if users click the next or prev. buttons then the images fade correctly but nothing fades back in. Now if they do hit next or prev and then hit a thumbnail option it loads and resizes.
I have created an opening animation for the webpage. It works well, a main movie loading in all the component parts, to keep the overall filesize down.Except this seems to cause me a problem: the animation sits in a normal html page, which has links to other pages. As the animation loads in, the little percentage checker ticking away in the corner, it is either impossible or at best slow whenever you click on any of the html links. It wants to keep loading the bits in rather than stop and do what the browser wants.IS there anyway of forcing the flash animation to stop loading?I notice on macromedia's site that most of there navigation is controlled by other flash movies, rather than html links, altho the html links do seem to interrupt the main animatin loading and then navigating on.

Since I'm teaching myself how to do this from scratch, I'm starting with something "simple" and then working my way up, so the first thing I wanted to do was just display the list of images (not the images themselves, the text list). The code I've written so far is this...

Since the xml document is the parent, I thought that if I just used .childNodes, it would display everything in the xml file, which it did, but then I assumed from there, if I were to instead use .firstChild.childNodes it would display only the list of images and not include the <photogallery> tags. Instead, it just prints nothing (other than my homey message, that is lol).
So my first question is, what should I have written to get it to print just the image list or will it always include the parent tags when tracing it out?
I am loading images from XML and they are losing quality after they are loaded.
How do I fix this?
(i am using ASC3)
