Actionscript 3 :: Prohibit Users From Loading Swf Files By Flash Loader.load() And Only Allow Loading Images?
Apr 1, 2010
I want to have an AS3 app load images from url supplied by the user. But I don't want a malicious user to be able to load an SWF file in place of the image, such as with an altered extension "maliciousSwf.png". Well, not sure how big a security threat that is above and beyond the ability of the hacker to decompile swf, but I think that ideally such behavior should not be allowed.
So, is there any way to prevent this? When people allow users to load images in their Flash apps, do they somehow guard against loading of SWF? Or is this really absolutely no big deal?
Explaination: MX 04' Pro Thumbnail Nav. loading images with XML Loader resizes and displays images when users click on Nav. reading XML Problem: Users click Thumbnail Nav. first image gets loaded and loader resizes to image. However the next choice by user on thumbnail click, the second image doesnt get resized in the loader. It goes beyond holder. Here is my code for Thumbnail and Loader:
[Code]....
Now the first image loads fine and the loader sizes to file from XML. However, when users click second choice from Thumbail the loader doesnt resize to new image size. It only gets resized on the first selction or if users click the next or prev. buttons then the images fade correctly but nothing fades back in. Now if they do hit next or prev and then hit a thumbnail option it loads and resizes.
I am attempting to load multiple images in AS3 and I'm exploring different options on how this can be done.I would like to have to only use one Load() instance and handle the various image assignments in the onComplete handler...here is my first attempt:
var buttonLdr:Loader = new Loader(); buttonLdr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, onLoadError); buttonLdr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onLoadCo
im loading images into flash from different external XML files.it takes time to load images into the flash- how do i create a PRELOADER for EXTERNAL XML files.
I'm working with Loader class in as3 and there comes some really strange problem. I have two swf files, one loading the other. In the first one, I have codes like this:
var loader:Loader=new Loader(); var context:LoaderContext=new LoaderContext(); context.applicationDomain=ApplicationDomain.curren tDomain; var req:URLRequest=new URLRequest("Untitled-1.swf"); loader.load(req); loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.CO MPLETE,onCPL); function onCPL(e):void{ trace("finish"); addChild(e.currentTarget.content); }
And the second one, with the name "Untitled-1.swf", doesn't seem to work in the first one. I find out that as long as there are ANY codes in the second swf file, the first one will repeat tracing "finish" endlessly.
i was loading a images from web for a polio page.. and for god shake, the uploading of image using Loader class for .PNG file alwz stuck at 13765 Bytes and Threw error saying the URL not available .. i was sure that the image was there and it loaded upto 13KB ... this was damn freaking.. i took hours tryin to debug it.. the fix was so simple.. the image file was to be renamed .png rather than .PNG and all worked fine... How come and from when Flash started treating .png and .PNG in different way and why the image loaded to 13KB and said invalid url..?
I would like to load different images with Loader object and put them in an Array.can I use only one Loader object to load multiple images or I have to use one Loader object for each loaded image? This array is the base images collection from which I'll generate new Bitmap objects.My problem is that I have to wait the complete loading process before I can access to BitmapData.
My need is to load 4 images at one time, and I'd like to have the code in a function that could load them one after another. But all I am getting is the last one of the loop iteration - I know it due to needing an onComplete, but I can't figure out how to make it all work passing it back and forth).
Code: function loadThumbnails() { for (var i:int = 1; i < 4; i++) {
Using the MovieClipLoader class, what is the difference between loading the external files into a Loader Component or into an empty movie clip. Will one be quicker? They both worked for me, but I've read using the Loader Component is better. Can anyone confirm this? I would think that avoiding components would make things faster/less file size.
How would you defer loading of other graphics on the page until after the images in a Flash gallery's images.xml file are finished loading?Is there any way to detect for this, or would I only be able to check if the flash swf object is finished loading? I'm pretty sure the swf object would be loaded/ready as with document.getElementById('flashobject').onload = function(){}; before the corresponding images have loaded though, instead of after.
I am loading images of different size and then images are scaled and border is drawn for each image as shown in below link,[URL]... I want that border of images to be of the same width and height and for that I need to find out the max width and height size image before loading all the images. Is there any way that I can know the width and height of an image before loading it completely?
I need to load multiple images from ZIP archive and do some actions after all files from ZIP archive have been loaded. I use FZip library to manipulate with ZIP files. My problem is that sometimes the loading of all files are not going.In this code I starting loading process:
loadedImages = zip.getFileCount(); trace("Starting... " + loadedImages); for (var i:uint = 0; i < loadedImages; i++)
how to load an external using a loader to show while its loading...my swf which is to be loaded is a gallery having jus one frame on which action script is placed..
I am making a game, then I learned to load the resources (images,etc) just when I need them, using the Loader class.I would like to know if I embed them they would be loaded with the game swf file (I am thinking as if my game is on a website) or when I instantiate them.If I load it one time and not use it anymore (loose its reference) and after some time load it again, will it be downloaded from server again? Or it will load from my pc? If I put the resources on a folder in the server (now I am using a folder on my pc) anyone would go there and get all the resources! What should I do? how my game would work on a website, not on my PC only I got the idea to create a loader to load my game, but I cant think about the resources loading,
I'm very new to flash and have a question for you wizards
I've created a simple slideshow displaying images which are being loaded from a XML file. I wish to have a preloader which displays the % loaded , if possible, while it's preloading the images from the xml file.
url....and they are using some kinda loading bar to load thumbnails of images, actually i saw that i many site, and i am bit curious about it.could any one help me out to code this loading bar?
i am having with xml being displayed in flash mx.the tutorial on this site works fine, but when i write my own xml file and modify the as, i encounter the problems. ideally, i wolud like to be able to load text files and urls of images to be loaded into flash, flash recognises the xml file fine and actually loads it, however, when i try to use the nodeValue action, i am always given the value "null." this is because flash thinks the node is an element rather than a text node (type 1 rather than 3, when you use nodeType.) i don't know why it does this when it is obviously a text node.
As the title says im trying to load Facebook profile images into flash using AS3,now im pretty far with this but i hit a blockade.[code]Im obtaining the friends list of the current user through some PHP a friend of mine wrote, and accesing their ID's, which i use to load their profile images.
on (release) { _parent._parent.buttonClick("movie name", _parent._name); }
For the above script, am trying to load a swf file to load into an main movie file. This is for a flash website am working on, and i wanted to know if the above .Since having all the pages (6 pages) in one flash file, it would take long time to load, so am planning to have each of the 6 pages in an separate swf file and load these into main swf file, on click of a button, Also there needs to be a loading bar for each page.
I have typical situation where big loop is loading lots of images and its done asynchronous which make browser to frees during loading and I want to make it synchronous but having big trouble doing it. I found this class synchronous loader and it work great but you cant add mouse event listener to loader. Here is sample code:
I have some pretty large PNG images stored in a database (example 1000x15000 px, 4.5MB). I am trying to load this using the Loader class...the problem I am having is when I call load(), nothing happens. No events, no errors.I can take the same image and embed it. As long as as I set the height to less than 8000px it works fine. If I convert the embedded image to a ByteArray and try to load it, nothing happens.
I'm using the following code to load an swf in a pure actionscript project (Flex Builder 3)
_loader = new Loader(); _loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, Loader_Complete); _loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.INIT, Loader_Init); var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("Skins/TestSkin.swf"); _loader.load(request);
[Code]..
I have seen examples online where people say these work for them but whenever I set width or height in any of these ways, the loaded swf is simply not displayed at all.
Sorry for the complicated topic. I got a .swf that loads in other .swfs. Rather than figuring out how to make a loader for loading .swfs I thought I'd just use a simple loader in the .swf I'm loading.
However, it doesn't work. It starts fully loaded but doesn't finish. Heres the AS:[AS]_root.stop(); PercentLoaded = _root.getBytesLoaded()/_root.getBytesTotal()*100;
I'm having trouble with a simple loader not loading an external swf file.I have a set of menu buttons (created from a class) that store the swf file name. When these are clicked they run a function that supposed to load the swf file but for some reason it doesn't (but maybe it does load it, just not display it). So here's the code:
Code: var urlLoader:Loader = new Loader(); var pageHolder:Sprite = new Sprite();

The "page loaded" trace is being displayed, so must load the swf but not show it. I can't even see the preloader. I also tried a very simple swf file with just some shapes and 1 frame but still no luck.
