ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Bar To Load Thumbnails Of Images,
Jun 4, 2007
url....and they are using some kinda loading bar to load thumbnails of images, actually i saw that i many site, and i am bit curious about it.could any one help me out to code this loading bar?
I am building a website with an image gallery using XML to load thumbnails and images.
Firstly, I was going to try to make the thumbnails act like buttons, so the mouse cursor would change to a little pointing finger like it does in buttonmode but i could not get this to work.
Secondly, I also wanted the alpha properties of the other buttons to reduce to about 0.75 to highlight the selected thumnail that would stay at its full alpha value of 1. Yet again i could not get this to work either.Can you build this type of functionality into the imported xml data or am I just kidding myself here?
I want to have an AS3 app load images from url supplied by the user. But I don't want a malicious user to be able to load an SWF file in place of the image, such as with an altered extension "maliciousSwf.png". Well, not sure how big a security threat that is above and beyond the ability of the hacker to decompile swf, but I think that ideally such behavior should not be allowed.
So, is there any way to prevent this? When people allow users to load images in their Flash apps, do they somehow guard against loading of SWF? Or is this really absolutely no big deal?
As the title says im trying to load Facebook profile images into flash using AS3,now im pretty far with this but i hit a blockade.[code]Im obtaining the friends list of the current user through some PHP a friend of mine wrote, and accesing their ID's, which i use to load their profile images.
I need to load multiple images from ZIP archive and do some actions after all files from ZIP archive have been loaded. I use FZip library to manipulate with ZIP files. My problem is that sometimes the loading of all files are not going.In this code I starting loading process:
loadedImages = zip.getFileCount(); trace("Starting... " + loadedImages); for (var i:uint = 0; i < loadedImages; i++)
I have a small gallery on my flash site and I'll click an image, it'll open, and then the code I have is set so that if you click anywhere the image will close.Now, if I click on a second thumnbail (after closing the first image), not only will the second image open but the first one as well!
really stuck with my thumbnails. Already get to open (load) the movie (container) with all the images but only get that the first thumbnail open all the container, so i canī set each particular thumbnail to open the corresponding big size image, this is what i got nowInto Characters and Illustrations, and click on the first thumb (upper-left)...really bad
This seems like it should be part of the "Adding Thumbnails" - the large images are align to the left when they load. So when you have landscape and portrait orientation images, they should horizontally align to center, not to the left.
got the fading working on an xml driven gallery i made, but after clicking the images a few times the fade effect gets faster and faster and eventually stops working.

code: (all in one frame) Code: var showVar = new Number(); var fadeDone = new Boolean(); showVar = 0;
I have a movieclip with a scroll pane. also a mc which i named a class with a 'delete' button and an image holder inside it. (linked as chosen_thumb_mc)For some reason, the thumbnails are not loading? I cant find out why because it says the code is correct.... Can anyone see what is wrong with my code?
I developing a site where on the homepage, there are about 6 images that rotate, but if you click on a sub link, a different image loads. But the problem is that, the first image has to cycle through before the second image loads. I want the second image to load immediately.
I have a xml gallery at the moment which loads in thumbnails and displays the larger images when clicked. What I am having trouble with is that some of the thumbnails have their own multiple images (more than 1 image for that thumbnail). I want to have a numbered menu 1,2,3,4 and when I click on the thumbnail depending how many sub photos there are for that one thumbnail I want to display an that image. And just to be dificult I also am displaying the larger images in another swf on the same page using local connection.
Im loading in tumbnails from an XML. Now they appear in a random order, i want them to be in the order they are in the XML file.
Quote:
thumbNails_xml.onLoad = function() { var listenerArray:Array = new Array(); var tempArray:Array = thumbNails_xml.firstChild.childNodes; var tnLoader_mcl = new MovieClipLoader();
Not sure how it works, but the kind of gallery I'm looking to put together is similar to the one found in the portfolio on this site:Im not sure but I understand that while the thumbnail loads it's also loading its cooresponding image into the gallery as well. Just curious how they are creating that loader, where you see the picture while it's loading.
I have created a sliding thumbnail viewer for a slideshow in flash, however I would like to load the thumbnails from a folder so that when the images in the folder change the flash file is updated.At the moment I have the thumbnails as buttons contained in a movieclip,allowing me to click the thumbnail to load up the fullsize image in the slideshow. Can I load the images from a folder with this set up?
The problem I think is on the bolded part. If I replace ref["thumb"+i] for say thumb0, it loads the first thumbnail into the first movieclip. I have on the stage ten movieclips with instance names of thumb0. thumb1, thumb2, etc. What I would like to do is to load a thumbnail in each movieclip without having to write the bolded line ten times.

I want the thumbs not in just one row of 5 thumbs but in two or three rows of 5. But how the change the following code?
var thumb_spacing = 40; // load variables object to handle loading of text var description_lv = new LoadVars(); description_lv.onData = function(raw_text){
I'm creating a gallery and having a problem loading thumbnails into different MovieClips. I have all the MCs stored into an Array. I could load them if I wanted to type out:
var thumbLoader1:Loader = new Loader(); movieClipName1.addChild(thumbLoader1);
but I would think there's a more dynamic way. Right now Im stuck at:
[Code].....
I tried switcing the var "image" with a name from the "imageThumbNames" array but that would've been too easy.
I am trying to load some thumbnails into a ScrollPane via XML. I have all the thumbnails loaded but like so many other people they just sit on the top of the ScrollPane in the top left corner of the Stage.
Code: var thumb_spacingY = 140; var thumb_spacingX = 40; menuXml = new XML();
I know I've seen a tutorial for this before, but I just cant seem to find it. I have many thumbnails being placed into a container and I would like each thumbnail to fade in as it is placed. Should I be using an Event.COMPLETE listener and then tween the alpha of currentTarget or something?I assume the code would go in/around here:
function thumbLoaded(e:Event):void{ var my_thumb:Loader = Loader(e.target.loader); container_mc.addChild(my_thumb);
In the final gallery, as the cursor rolls over a thumbnail I would like the thumb to be highlighted; so I am wanting to load the thumbs into separate holders.
The gallery is not yet finished, but I have run into some testing difficulties in loading and displaying the thumbnails. The following error is appearing: "Warning: Filter will not render. The DisplayObject's filtered dimensions (4692, 202) are too large to be drawn."
Who knows how to get this kinda menu: [URL] to only display a certain number of items per line? (I'm referring to flash file down the page a little that says "Choose Thumbnail" on it. The source code for this flash file can be found on page 2 of this tutorial)
As you can see, it currently has 4 thumbnail images, and all 4 of them are displayed on 1 line. But what if I wanted to tell Flash to only put 3 per line (thus 3 on the first line and 1 on the second). This thumbnail image menu is dynamically loading data from XML, so if I wanted to add more images to the XML file, I wouldn't want these extra images added to the same line as they would run off the page! I need them to load under the existing ones..
I'm new in AS3 and i'm having some problems. I'm trying to put thumbnails that are load by xml inside a ScrollPanel.
What happened is that the ScrollPanel didn't have a scrollBar and didnt scroll. I thought that if i put each thumbnail inside a MovieClip and set the height maybe would do the trick. But things got worse because i couldn't be able to put the thumb's inside de MC's. Just put them in front
2.On click load the actual image which again is generated via XML file.
Now in the past I have used XML for a menu system, but I'm finding it hard to come up with this by myself from scratch. I can't seem to break the concept of how I would set this up. If anyone can lead me in the right direction with a link or example etc,
