Oct 6, 2011I have a Adobe Air app (AS3, not Flex) that has 2 windows. When I click away from them onto another desktop program, I get an "Deactivate" Event (as you would expect).When I click on say Window#1 I get an "Activate" Event (as you would expect).But when I go from Window#1 to Window#2, I get nothing. And I believe this is because the Air application is still the active program, Just a Different Window.
But I have the need to know when I go from 1 window to another.The horrible solutions I have come up with so far is to have an onEnterFrame and check if the current window is the active window. But I would much prefer to do it a much better way that such a hack.I have gone though Stage, NativeApplication and Native Window Events and none of them do what I need. Can anyone point me to another Event I may have overlooked?

With this code, I would expect window1 to open behind the main app window and, in 3 seconds, window2 would open behind window1. But if you execute this, window1 will open on top of the main window and window2 will open on top of window1 and the main app will retain focus. This seems like a bug in the Flex. If so is there any workaround for this problem?

Mar 13, 2011So I have this AIR app coded in flex where I have several floating native windows and what I want is to detect when a user clicks outside of a window so that I can close it. (I don't want to use the PopupManager Class and would want to use the native windows).
My question is, is there a way to detect a click outside of a spark window, or alternativley is there some root container/object which is a parent to all the native windows so that a click inside any native window would bubble up to it? (Apparently the stage object of the root windowed application is not that object since each window is not a child of the stage for the root application).

This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.

width = 100% of browser window
height = 1500px
What I'm trying to do is have a movie clip with the instance name of 'msie' vertically and horizontally centred to the middle of the browser window (not just the stage).
The current code I'm using is:
msie._x = Stage.width / 2;
msie._y = Stage.height / 2;
This correctly centres the movieclip to the width of the browser window but because the height of the stage is 1500px, it positions it at 750px from the top instead of being vertically centred in the browser window.
how I can get this to work. I feel like all I need to is replace the word 'Stage.' with something else in the code.

Feb 6, 2007How do you get the information bar to stop blocking the active X control for a flash movie in IE.when I am in fire fox, it just starts the flash movie. Right in the HTML page. But with IE, the info bar at the top pops up, and blocks my flash movie.Then you have to click on it, and say that you want to activate the active X on the page. I guess thats it for now.

Apr 10, 2007I am making a flash application and I am trying to find function to use when I press the close button of the projector window. I dont want to make a button that uses fscommand("quit") since this would be impractical knowing that a default close button on the window is already available. Anyway the purpose of the function is that when I close my application, a dialog box/message would appear as a reminder that some data has not yet been saved and give the user an option to save or quit the application.

Jan 3, 2005Had a problem stretching the flash file to fill the screen in a projector movie. It is not made in proportion with the standard screen sizes. Is there a quicky way of doing this, without having to go into each element and resizing it. Its a huge file with a lot of cross referencing happening, and _root is used liberally everywhere.
