Had a problem stretching the flash file to fill the screen in a projector movie. It is not made in proportion with the standard screen sizes. Is there a quicky way of doing this, without having to go into each element and resizing it. Its a huge file with a lot of cross referencing happening, and _root is used liberally everywhere.

I'm currently trying to get an AS3 based flash file to run full screen in a windows projector, but no matter what I try codewise I cannot get the function correctly working,I've tried
fscommand("fullscreen","true");
which works, but I'm also told to avoid it, as it's buggy : - I also tried
fscommand("trapallkeys","true");
fscommand("fullscreen","true");
fscommand("showmenu","false");[code]....
but this doesn't work either, in swf or standalone .exe.
I know there is a way to make the flash movie play full screen when publishing as a projector? The only method I know of is by adding code to an HTML page, but since this is a projector file that will be played on CD, I'm at loss.
Also, a tad unrelated to the ActionScript forum, but any info on what can be done for the projector file to autorun?
I'm trying to sell this metronome: [URL]. I've submitted it to activeDen.com and it has been rejected for 'aesthetic reasons' I noticed when I double click the swf file it opens up in my web browser and it is enlarged to fill the screen. This is bad since I use jpeg images instead of vector art and I do not like the Allow Smoothing option in flash since it blurs the image a little. So is there a way to make my swf file show up correctly?

I am developping a as3 project for a kiosk that should run in full screen mode.I am using eclipse for the programming and Flash CS4 to prepare all the swf library assets.Once I publish the swf, I open it in the flash player and export the file as a projector file.
When I open the projector file it doesn't go full screen automatically.
Where can I set the project to go full screen?In the code?Or is there a preference setting for the projector file?Or another way to publish the projector file that will allow me to set the full screen mode?I remember using fscommand in as2 but that doesn't seem to work anymore.
My question is what needs to be done in order to make a .swf file go into full screen without falling to a black screen when a movie is played? I have tried coding it, however I come up with the following error.

i have a movie that is using a listener to align the items in the movie according the the size of the screen. However, in one instance I want say a 200h 200w box centered on the screen to stay 200 height but stretch to the width of the screen, animated over say 12 frames. I know how to set the box._width = Stage.width; which will give me the available stage width but it automatically sets it there before the animation takes place. is there a way to make a movie clip where the box starts at 200h 200w and ends with 200h Stage.width

The photo gallery is a fullscreen presentation and it acquires the images from an external images folder via a XML file. Is there any particular code that I'm not aware of to keep the images displaying in their correct proportion in fullscreen instead of them stretching all the time?

The problem I encounter is this:
The projector starts correctly FULLSCREEN (using AS). The video plays 900x506 correctly. If I click on the player, to get the video full screen, it works. But when I press ESC, not only the video, but also the PROJECTOR looses full screen.
This is a bit annoying. Is there a way to apply the "back to normal size" only to the video? I do not want to prevent the app to be exited from full screen, it's not a problem if the user wants to exit the projector full screen. But not when the user exits the video from fullscreen mode.
How to target only the video?
Is there a way to center a flash projector on a screen when it is launched? I noticed when I launch a flash projector file, it gets positioned on the screen randomly. I am using ActionScript 3.

View 5 RepliesI'm looking to do a preloader for my site, what I want to do is that the user sees the percentage loaded, but instead of the typical bar filling up, I want dots to fill the screen. Each dot would appear with each percentage loaded. So for example, if its on 5%, there would be 5 dots, when it moves to 6%, another dot would appear on the screen. So in the end there would be 100 dots/circles on the screen. maybe say in a 10 by 10 grid. I know how to make the percentage loaded appear, but have no idea about the dots.

I am using Flash cs5 on iMAC OS 10.6 When the SWF file opens on my screen, I try to enlarge it by draging the corner, but only the background color enlarges. Is there a way that I can get the whole SWF file to enlarge when I drag the corner? Is there a setting in the publishing setting?
View 1 Repliesi'm trying to publish my website that I made entirely in flash CS5. Everything works perfectly when I publish the site in Flash, then upload the files to my server. I created the site on my 23' monitor, and when I view it on that computer, everything looks perfect, and works. However, I viewed the site from my laptop, and the site gets cutoff and the browser doesn't create a scroll bar so you cannot see everything.
To remedy this, I tried to use Dreamweaver to publish my site. Once again, it worked great on my 23' monitor, no problems what so ever. Viewed on my laptop once again, and now the browser creates the scroll bar. GREAT! However, now the entire site is stretched for some reason (but only when viewing it on the laptop). It seems to be a problem in Dreamweaver since when I viewed the Flash Plublished file, it didn't stretch the site.

i have a MC named "intro" with two images and a video inside it, and i need to make this MC fit the whole window, so it will be 100% maximized but keep the aspect ratio/dimensions (so the video dont get distorted and stretched).
So far i have this on the MC:

but that will just stretch and distort the video/MC to fit the window... and i need to constrain the proprtions (like when you resize a video in a video player).

I have testedthe projector file on Mac 10.4 and Windows XP and all show theflashplayer's top tool bar. The only way to go full screen is tomanually select view/full screen in the player toolbar. I'm trying to create a Macintosh full screen projector. Easy, I know.WHY the hell doesn't it go full screen... I keep getting the title bar at the top of the projector.
Windows projector works perfectly.Some software called Zinc will provide me with the solution to this problem but it's expensive and the free version adds a watermark to the file, which is not good.

I have a project whose final deliverable is a Windows projector, but is also published as a swf so the client can proof it remotely online. The projector has the following line of code: stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN; which, of course, makes the projector go to full screen automatically upon launching it. Unfortunately, it prevents the swf from playing at all (not sure why). So I am constantly commenting and uncommenting that line, since I usually publish to both swf and projector. Is there a way to rewrite that so that it works in the projector, but does not stop the swf from playing?
One idea I had was to do something like: "If (I am not a swf) {stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;}" Or alternately: "If (I am a projector) {stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;}" I'm not sure this is possible, or, if it is, what the as3 code would be for it.
how to open pdf, swf file in flash 8 projector? i am using exec command which was used earlier in flash 8 but its only working for exe files after keeping the files in folder named fscommand....
View 2 RepliesI am creating a Flash projector to work on a CD for a client to distribute. There has to be a listing of their PDF's in the flash program, that when clicked, will open the actual PDF in a separate window. I found one comment in this site to use "GetURL", but found out it is ONLY for HTML. There was mention of setting up the FSCommand to open another application, such as a PDF file, but how? I have the files in the same directory and tried putting the file name in the "GetURL" (the PDF file), but just freezes when trying to open. Also, is there a way they can drag and drop the PDF files to the desktop, that has the listings of the PDF's and save to the hard drive?

have created a gallery which has a button behind it so that you cant press any of the stuff behind it. Which all works. However, when I put it in html it only covers my flash movie and not the whole page which is really what I want.
