View 2 RepliesI am doing a site for my senior project in college and I was wondering what the best way to use a background image in flash is? I'd like the background image to fill the browser all the time, so resizing the browser will resize the background. Basically, is there a way to make the stage size the background? I'd like to be able to shift the background via AS tweening, but I want to make sure that what's on the stage is what's in the browser and can't see beyond that.

Those Flash banner ads that expand to fill the screen when rolled over?
i have a MC named "intro" with two images and a video inside it, and i need to make this MC fit the whole window, so it will be 100% maximized but keep the aspect ratio/dimensions (so the video dont get distorted and stretched).
So far i have this on the MC:
ActionScript Code:
onClipEvent (load) {
this._width = Stage.width;
this._height = Stage.height;
}
but that will just stretch and distort the video/MC to fit the window... and i need to constrain the proprtions (like when you resize a video in a video player).
I have a small image which is to be tiled on background filling it completely.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to sell this metronome: [URL]. I've submitted it to activeDen.com and it has been rejected for 'aesthetic reasons' I noticed when I double click the swf file it opens up in my web browser and it is enlarged to fill the screen. This is bad since I use jpeg images instead of vector art and I do not like the Allow Smoothing option in flash since it blurs the image a little. So is there a way to make my swf file show up correctly?
View 5 RepliesMy client originally requested a flash animation to be used as an introduction to their website - it needed to fill the screen no matter what the computer screen size. This bit works perfectly - However recently:
it has been mentioned that when viewed from a large plasma screen, it views incorrectly, i.e., "the flash does not display, it only appears as a banner across the top of the page": ensure that if an swf file is viewed on large plasma screens, the animation automatically displays correctly - filling the screen?the final swf file has an interactive button that pushes the viewer to a website, so I'm guessing the option of creating a projector or movie file won't solve the problem
I'm filling the stage with a symbol to create repetitive pattern
ActionScript Code:
function patternFill():void {
var patternBox:Sprite = new Sprite();
[code].....
have created a gallery which has a button behind it so that you cant press any of the stuff behind it. Which all works. However, when I put it in html it only covers my flash movie and not the whole page which is really what I want.
View 1 Replieshow can i fill a background color to a movie clip instance?
View 2 RepliesHow would I make it so that Flash will only tile this one line horizontally to fit the width screen, instead of the whole stage? (Right now it tiles Y as well as X)
Code:
stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
var tile:Sprite = new Sprite();
stage.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, reTile);
function tileBG():void{
tile.graphics.beginBitmapFill(new Tile(0, 0));
[Code] .....
I have this script on the first frame of my movieclip:
stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
stage.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, adjustLayout);
adjustLayout();[code]....
?
As you can see, it basically just controls the position of the elements of the site (logo and gallery), and makes the background (square) stretch to fill the browser window. what's the equivalent code in AS2?
Is it possible to make a flash site to fill the screen just on its height, keepping its width?
View 5 RepliesI'm looking to do a preloader for my site, what I want to do is that the user sees the percentage loaded, but instead of the typical bar filling up, I want dots to fill the screen. Each dot would appear with each percentage loaded. So for example, if its on 5%, there would be 5 dots, when it moves to 6%, another dot would appear on the screen. So in the end there would be 100 dots/circles on the screen. maybe say in a 10 by 10 grid. I know how to make the percentage loaded appear, but have no idea about the dots.
View 5 RepliesHad a problem stretching the flash file to fill the screen in a projector movie. It is not made in proportion with the standard screen sizes. Is there a quicky way of doing this, without having to go into each element and resizing it. Its a huge file with a lot of cross referencing happening, and _root is used liberally everywhere.

I'm trying to create spinning rays in actionscript to use in my website.Below is the rough idea of what i'm trying to create.Is it possible to create absolutely with 0 images.Following is the actionscript code in which i couldn't figure out how to add gradient, transperant background and little radial gradient to create glow effect.
Code:
function CreateRays():Shape {
var ray:Shape = new Shape();
ray.graphics.beginFill(0xFF9900,.5);
ray.graphics.lineStyle(1,0xFF9900,.5);
[code]....
If you paste above code in 1st frame of your scene with nothing on your scene, it will give you sweet rotating rays!
I'm trying to create a website with full screen background images (or possibly, a video) but don't know the best way to approach it. The Die Antwoord site does pretty much what I'm trying to accomplish. I'd also like to know how they can use such high resolution images. If I try to use a high res image, the file size is enormous.I also want to do is to be able to change the background image when a button is clicked. What is the best way to do that with large images? Another site that uses similar technology only with a video is the TV on the Radio site.
View 3 RepliesI am using MX 04 and I have a rather large background for my movie 2046x396 and I made it into a mc to pan right to left... it looks ok in the designer and plays fine in the library, but with I testrun the movie it looks like the image is getting smeared on the screen... the movie speed is 60fps and the background mc I have tried from 100 to 300 frame motion tween.
View 0 RepliesI'm trying to create a website similar to this one, where the content is a fixed width and height (i.e. made to fit a 1024x768 screen), but the background image is full screen and scales proportionally when the window is resized.
How can I achieve this full screen background using Flash CS4/AS3?
I am new to flash, trying to do some animation character. I have 2 queries
1. What is lock fill; whenever I am trying to fill a color, it shows lock fill....
2. If I am creating a non regular figure like say with pencil, if I draw some part of it & do other part by later; these will be assumed different objects & I am not able to fill the whole figure with a selected color.
ive made an xml slideshow on my application however when i try and move to another screen the slideshow keeps going in the background this is the webite of the tutorial i used:

How to change screen background color in ActionScript 3.0 ? and how to navigate one screen to another screen in ActionScript3.0; i have used a button in my project, when i click the button the present screen should be invisible and another screen should come
in the onclick method i called like this :
presentscree.visible = false;
nextscreen:NextScreen = new NextScree();
nextscreen.visible = true;
I have searched everywhere but I can't seem to find anyway to create a full screen background image. Does anyone know the code to do this? Or know of any tutorials?
View 3 RepliesI took the tutorial on using the bitmapdata to effectively tile a background, but it doesn't tile it across the full screen. Only the size of your flash movie. I want it to cover the entire screen muc like [URL]I'm looking for a way to tile the image across the full background regardless of window size. So if you maximize your browser, the background tiles the the full screen. I've been racking my brain all morning trying to figure it out!
View 6 Repliesi have my movie set up to load an external swf or image into an empty movieclip which allows the image to streach to the full size of the browser window.the question is that i want there to be a preloader on the transition between the images as they will be relatively large sizes, i want to recreate something similar to:...where the preloader takes up the whole window similar to how the images will be working
View 10 RepliesI have a problem with the resizing of the background. This is the code i use
bg_mc._x = 0;
bg_mc._y = 0;
bg_mc._width = Stage.width;
bg_mc._height = Stage.height;
How I can make this background to resize in full screen?
I'm working on a site currently, and I have a fullscreen flash video that has objects that react to the mouse movement and create a parallax effect. A Div container is above the flash video containing the site content. I can display the div content above the flash video just fine, my problem is that the flash video does not recognize the mouse movement when the mouse is above the div container? Is there any way to fix this or will I have to create the site entirely in flash?
Here is the code:
Code:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />

i am having this little problem of making my video fit to my browser width and height.and it needs to get itself be the last layer as well. is getNextHighestDepth() a wrong command here?how do i add swap depth or something?it needs to be a layer beneath my navigation and everything.

I am trying to achieve a flash project with a background that is required to be stretched. Otherwise it looks funny.
My idea was to create different dimensions of the background, and according to the screen resolution the visitors has, the flash document publishes the background that is meant for the visitors screen resolution.
* And, can the flash document "strech" also? So I can put the different backgrounds in the flash document, and the flash document widens so it covers the whole web browser window?
In the bottom layer of my main movie, Id like to put a random background image which loads on entering the frame and stretches to full screen. I would like to use a preloader for the image so Im trying to load a swf using this which I found here:
[URL]
Code:
choice = Math.round(Math.random()*5);
switch (choice) {
case 0 :
[Code]....
but I could not get it to stretch full screen. How do I get the externally loaded swf to stretch full screen and be able to resize via a listener from within my main movie?
