I have a linked list of data in Red5server that updating every 8 second. I want to send this linked list to Flex. is it possible using shared object? or any other solution?
i want to know how to send data using the AMF format from my flex AIR project to a socket written in Java. I am getting CorruptedStreamException when sending data using writeUTFBytes() methods. Has anyone experienced similar problems? Also can AMF be used only if i am using LCDS only?
private SimpleServer(int port) { System.out.println(">> Starting SimpleServer on port " + port);
I tried with flex and java in the backend. In this, I am able to upload files till 100 MB using remote object (blazeDs) where we will read the file as byte array and send it to the java method. If the file size exceeds after that, then I get the run time error in IE.
We are going to develop a simple chatroom in flex using Red5.Should we store UserList in a Remote Shared Object or Server Side List?Are there any example exit on Red5 or FMS , which uses Server Side programming and Remote Shared Objects? Red5 examples are not documented at all.
i am using red5 and flex. Actually my objective is to send microphone stream from the server to the client and play it on the client side. Similarly send microphone stream from client to server and play it on the server side. No need to store the live stream.
I'm trying to send a video stream to a Red5 server using Flex.
My Red5 setup seems to work for remote method invocations and shared objects, but I've yet to succeed in getting video working.
This is the AS3 code that connects to Red5:
# connect to RTMP server netConnection.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, netStatusHandler); netConnection.connect("rtmp://localhost/context_name"); # omitted code for waiting for connection success, and setting up shared
[Code].....
As said, note that the Red5 setup works flawlessly for remote method invocations and shared objects, but not for video which is strange.
I could play MIDI file where "filename" is a String type with "asd.mid" value. However, I tried to sent AIR's nativeprocess command to Java, it shown "could not read" error.
I'm working on a Flash project and someone recommended Red5 as a media streaming server. Do I need to know java to use build applications that use Red5 as their server?
I've got XML data in AS3 that needs to be compressed, validated on my Java Google App Engine servlet then saved to a file in Google Cloud Storage. Later that file will be opened and decompressed by the AS3 client. The process works if I do it with plain XML or text, but if I ByteArray#compress the data, it dies during ByteArray#uncompress with "There was an error decompressing the data".
I've tried setting the content type and mime type at various points, as well as encoding with Base64, but every attempt seems to break in a different way and I never get the same XML back that I sent in. Do I need to use multipart? Should I compress on the server? [code]...
I'm building an application using Flex 4 + Spring Blazeds Integration 1.5 + Spring 3.0.5 + Hibernate running on jboss-5.1.0.GA. I create a simple login form, and when a submit a string via remote object it works fine. But when a try to use an Object its simple doesn't work. Funny is that it even don't shows the Alert that a put! Also, if I remove the tag "RemoteClass" it sends to java but an error occur. Bellow is the code and configs.
I have my flex object embedded to JSP page.The JSP page retrieves user information like user name and group from portal profile object and stores in http session parameters. The flex Object makes a remote call to Employee.class to perform persona based operation.
I retrieved the session id in JSP and also in the Employee.class both are same. But I am not able to retrieve the username stored in the http session from FlexSession. I read in the internet that the FelxSession will hold all httpSession information as well. It's always coming as null. Correct me if I am wrong.
I have a custom java class which has an ArrayList and corresponding to it have a custom vo class which has ArrayCollection (in Flex).I want to return data from Java to flex.Every variable in java is getting mapped to vo perfectly except for ArrayList.When trying to retrive When trying to retrive exposureUSDList (which is an arrayList) in flex I am getting empty ArrayCollection. It is not getting mapped properlyPlease find my code below:
I need to develop the HTTPS application using Flex and Java. But i have idea about remote objects or HTTPServices. which one is the best for developing HTTPS application.
I seem to be getting the following error when I try to access a Remote Java class (on Spring/BlazeDS) from the Flex/Cairngorm application. I am going crazy at the moment trying to see what is wrong
I am working on an Adobe Flex front-end with a Java back-end using JPA for persistence. he protocol I am using is remote objects (AMF) implemented with BlazeDS.I started out with a service-facade and entity DAOs, but without any specific DTOs. The same POJOs, the domain objects, were passed in the service-facade as those used as DTOs passed to the Hibernate DAOs.However, the latest few days I have been thinking whether this is a good approach or not. The latest article on the subject I read was this one:Interesting JPA Pattern blogThe situation:Say I have POJO Book with a unidirection ManyToOne relation with the POJO Category (i.e. each book may only be associated with one category, but the same category may be associated with many books). I see some alternatives:Alternative 1:I expose a method/operation addUpdateBook(Book book). In the implementation of this operation I add/update both the book and the referenced category.
I have several flash clients that send live audio stream to the Red5 server. Is it possible to combine all this audio streams together so that other clients could subscribe only to one audio stream and listen live audio from all publishers?

I'm somewhat new to FMS. We're creating a chat application and using s remote SharedObject to keep everyone in sync about who is in the room. But despite the fact that I use the following:
_sharedObject.setProperty("groupList", groupList);_sharedObject.setDirty("groupList"); to force the shared object to update the list of who's in the room, for some reason it does not always update correctly when someone enters the room and adds themselves to the shared object. The problem seems to be that the SyncEvent.SYNC event does not always get sent all the time.
More troubling it that if the user closes the browser window or navigates to another page, NetStatusEvent NetGroup.Neighbor.Disconnect and NetGroup.MulticastStream.UnpublishNotify are not reliable to use to remove user's from the list. My assumption is that remote shared objects are just not that reliable in some cases. Should I use server side scripts to keep track of users and what groups they are in?
I can create (AC3 and FMS4) remote sharedObject (but it's not listed on FMS admin panel, either on local server running on winXP Pro). When I trace results I see firstame value "myfirstname":
<...> public var _so:SharedObject; <...>[code]...
but when I want to get these values from another swf and browser with the same connection details, I don't receive anything. No ideas about returned errors, but i think it should be o.k., as I use like this to receive _so values:
I am writing a Red5 application that provides 1-on-1 video chat to a Flash client over RTMP.
Unfortunately most tutorials I was able to find were sketchy at best and the documentation of Red5 itself tends to be vague when it comes to API concepts and intended usage.
In short, I am a bit stuck and looking for hints on Red5 ApplicationAdapter implementation. Gnarly details are as follows:
First of all, the connections come in two flavors: visitors and consultants. A visitor should be able to indicate which consultant it wishes to communicate with. A consultant simply gets connected to the requesting visitor as long as the consultant is not busy servicing another. Obviously, every RTMP connection has two-way traffic: both sending and receiving video. From the standpoint of the server, connections bring in a bunch of video streams that get their receiving endpoints assigned by request. Since several video conversations can be in progress simultaneously, the main task of the application is to handle the mapping of visitor streams to consultants and provide a list indicating each consultant's state (busy/available) via AMF.
So, all in all, I have a pretty good idea what I am aiming for but how to achieve it with Red5 is still a bit of a mystery.
What is the easiest way to establish the connection type (visitor/consultant)? Which API classes should be used to implement a persistent, globally accessible list of active connections for reporting the state of each consultant? How to switch receving endpoints dynamically when the goal is to connect a specific visitor to the selected consultant?
I'm getting to work with with red5 and am trying to make a basic app that will stream a random video to the client. Let's say I have 3 flvs on my server, I'd like a client to connect to my red5 app and have 1 of these 3 videos streamed to them. The only streaming i've been able to figure out so far uses netStream.play("video.flv"), this doesn't work for me, I want the server to decide on the file to stream rather than the client.
Is the setProperty method only applicable to remote shared objects and not to local shared objects? The following code works fine: Code: web_so.setProperty("web", "someURL"); trace(username_so.data.Name);
Where 'web_so' was earlier declared as a remote shared object. When the above line of code is parsed, the bbc website opens in the browser and the trace statement get's printed in the output cosole. However if I were to replace the web_so...code witht the following: Code: username_so.setProperty("web", "someURL"); trace(username_so.data.Name);
Where 'username_so' was earlier declared as a local shared object. The trace statements prints out fine, but the brower dosent fire up at all. Which makes me wonder if the 'setProperty' method is something unique to remote shared objects, but I dont see the API mentioning that.
I am using a red5 server. I am doing a two way video conference using flex application. My current red5 server is storing both streams as different flv files.
now i have done some editing and have saved these edited files as one with video stream
I have a collection of Objects in an ArrayCollection in my flex page.
What is the best approach to send this data to a Java Servlet?
The object in the ArrayCollection is a VO that consists of an id and message for now. I want a solution that is scalable in case more properties are added later on.
I have a TileList which represents some remote data. I also have a form which allows me to change the data. And the data may be changed by someone else too.
What is the best way to maintain data in the list in an up-to-date state? The simplest option I see is the following:
Select an item in the list Edit it in the form Save it. The form submits the data to the server When the server reports success the list re-fetches it's data The very bad thing about this workflow is that the list loses selection (a tree would also loose the nodes' expanded/collapsed state). I would really love to find out another option which would enable the list to maintain it's selection state.
I'm trying out the FlasBuilder ide with ColdFusion 8 on OS X. When I try to create a new project, I get stuck at the server setup screen that forces you to validate your paths for your ColdFusion root folder and your webroot. Every combination I try says either "LiveCycle Data Services is not installed at the specified location" or "Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml." The flex-config.xml file is sitting in that directory. Is there some trick to getting this to work?
