Jquery :: Flash - Make Appear And Disappear Div Background Color?

I am trying make the background color of a div appear and then disappear like a flash coming and going but without nay success till now. On the click of a div, I am trying to give a flash effect to another div's background color.So far, my jquery knowledge have come to the following code:

I have a map application where the user mouses over the various counties, and clicks on it to zoom in. I am having a problem synchronizing the background change with the county zoom.referably, I would like the background to zoom out with the counties as they zoom, but having the background fade to white would work just as well. Im the new kid on the block so I apologyze if I'm not doing very well.Everything works fine till the moment in which I set the wmode param of the flash movie to transparent, then the movie completely disappears (it loads, as I can listen at the sounds) but it doesn't show.I would like to have a full background image with the transparent flash movie over it, that's all, if somebody can tell me how to fix this or even a new way to do it, it will be so good!!Here is my code, so simple, by the way:

How can I fill my whole background with a big image? The photo is 1400*867 and with the solution here it fills up the width but not the height. I don't care if the photo gets cropped in order to fill up the height too.
The CSS3 way (background-size) is perfect but doesn't work in IE.
If you don't know a way with css/jquery could you direct me to a flash script where I could just enter the path of the image and let flash resize it?

I've designed a Flash site in CS3 using Action Script 2.0 that has a main flash movie sorta floating in space over a gradient background. I want the gradient background to re-size with the browser, so I thought that the easiest way to do this would be to delete the gradient background in Flash and instead recreate the background in Dreamweaver using the repeat background option and then make the Flash movie's background transparent. (I hope I'm making some amount of sense here).
I've found a few tutorials on how to do this, but so far I just get a white background instead of transparent. I've tried choosing "Transparent - Windowless" under Window Mode on the HTML tab in Publish Settings. And I've tried selecting the movie from within DW and clicking the parameter button and adding a "wmode" parameter with "transparent" as its value.

So i'm working on this website and I want to be able to switch out the entire color scheme on the website everytime a button is pressed, I've stepped away from flash for awhile and actionscript 3 is new me. Plus I haven't quite found any truely useful stuff on forums yet.
What i can't figure out is when a button is pressed the HTML background color changes to one of 5 preselected colors (that alternate ever time the button is pressed). Then for each background change the text changes too as it is part of a entire new color scheme.
What I've managed so far is to change the color of the background thats within the Flash file. What i did was to make a movie clip that plays to a next frame and stop everytime the button is pressed. Now i just need to also get to change the HTML color and the font colors.
//"homeText" being the name of dynamic text field and "Button" the name of the button and "background" being the movie clip that is the background within the flash file.

Is it possible to change the background color of AS3 Color Picker component using AS3? It is always black behind the swatches and I would prefer it be white but even after alternating the skins in the library it always appears black.For example, I would like the swatch to initially be a circle which I have done and have it open to a grid of circular swatches.

I'm experiencing a very odd problem. I have n sprites that I'm drawing through Actionscript 3. There is a DropShadowFilter (also happens with BevelFilter) applied to each sprite. With 0-20, there is no problem. Once I get to about 30, other nearby sprites start disappearing. The greater the number n, the more external sprites disappear. If I toggle the visibility (even without a redraw), the other sprites start reappearing.

I am using swfobject to display some Flash content (please don't tell Steve Jobs) and I need to set the background color of the swfobject content to black so it blends nicely with the black page it is on.I tried using the following code but it didn't change anything:

Using CSS, how do I set the background color of a Flex MX Button? My button is declared as:

And the CSS is:
@namespace mx "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx";

color: #66ffff;
backgroundColor: #333333;
}
backgroundColor doesn't seem to be the correct CSS property for MX Button's background color. Looking at the Flex API docs, I tried fillColors but that didn't do anything.
Is it possible to change mx.controls.Button's background color using CSS?

Is there a way using CSS, to set a mx.controls.ComboBox's background color. This would be the background color of each row when the ComboBox is clicked (expanded). I've tried backgroundColor, fillColors and backgroundGradientColors without success.
My ComboBox is contained within a FormItem. I've also tried setting FormItem's backgroundColor, fillColors and backgroundGradientColors. It's not clear to me where ComboBox obtains or inherits its list cell background color from.
