I'd like to get your thoughts on the best way to deliver full-browser (scale to the size of the browser window) video. I'm skilled in the creation of the content but learning to make the most out of Flash CS5 and would love to hear what you would suggest.Most of the tutorials I can find on full browser/scalable video are for earlier versions of Flash; what is the best practice today? Best resolution/format for the video? View 4 RepliesI have a flash presentation thats for a supermarket TV screen. Its big in file size 9.6MB. When I go file/export/export movie to quicktime and use the animation settings the file plays but leaves trail lines behind, skips frames and looks crap.
The quicktime settings I've used are either:
Animation
Quality Best
Millions of colours
All Key frames
24fps
or
DV - PAL
Frame rate 24fps
Quality Best
I need it to look high quality but I am not sure what settings to use.

I'm trying to get a high quality video into a flash document. I would like it to stream the flv from the website it will be posted on.
The source file is a 640x480 quicktime file (H264 compression)however viewing it at 640x480, I notice that there is pixelation instead of a clean and crisp image, I look at the source, it's clean and crisp. how can I import a nice high quality video into flash without that nasty pixelation?
Need to convert flv files to avi or mov, trying out ffmpeg but the output quality is terrible. How can I get the video output to be on par quality with the source? I thought ffmpeg -i name.flv -s 320x... name.avi would do it, but no good.

View 3 RepliesThis is very strange.i would like to show in my swf movie all the icons (jpg/png) I've imported as they are. I've set the JPG quality 100%, I've tried the PNG settings without quality lost, I've unchecked the "Allow smooth" setting.
But as soon as the movie have quality=high all the icons are smoothed/breaked and do not looks like the original ones [URL]..Instead, setting quality=low let show the icons as they are![URL]..Of course, I need the movie to be quality=high, since there will be some other stuff on it!
I'm looking to create a site that has video playing full browser in the background. A very perfect example lies here:[URL]..As you can see, the video is scaled according to stage resize while the menus and such stay where they should like a perfect liquid layout. I've watched the Liquid Layout video (from this site i'm pretty sure?) and understand how to position objects on the stage according to stage resize, but I've never figured out how to scale only the video like that. The only way I've been able to do that is by setting my publish settings to NoBorder with 100% width and height, but that defeats the whole liquid layout because it scales your entire swf. I feel like it's some sort of math I'm not grasping.
I'm probably wrong, but I feel like the way I'd go about doing this would be to set everything up as a liquid layout site; that is specify stage align and scale to TOP_LEFT and NO_SCALE. I'd have my liquid menu items positioned accordingly with a resize function and for the background video I'd use a FLV Playback Component that would be manipulated through another as3 function to scale accordingly. I'd use a Playback Component so as to be able to load multiple external videos (.h264) when a link was clicked. Am I on the right track? AS3 only please!

There is a line in the header which will scale full browser.k the attached rough layout. Red border will be removed. Now it is a guide of flash movie. I need to make white line in the header full screen and rest of the movie fixed size. Scrolling no problem.

However, if I use the File -> Publish Settings and there set the width and height 100%, it resizes to full browser, but... When I use stageHeight and stageWidth, they don't change. I only have one frame in my animation, so should I fire a eventListener for something like "resize"?

View 1 RepliesI am creating a website where the entire background is tiled and it also contains a photo gallery. Now, the photo gallery has to only appear within a limited height but the width could be similar to the browser window. (The website will be a full browser website with a capability of going fullscreen.). I tried a lot of things but the stage calculation requires to be a little different than the general stage properties.
In general, the height and width of the image is directly proportional to those of the stage. But what I am looking at is for the image to be rescaled proportionally to the width of the stage but the height nneds to be about 20-30% less than the height of the actual stage. Basically the background will be visible in that 20-30% of empty space. (And of course other elements)
My scaling of the image code looks like following,

And it also centers the image on the stage based on the new stage size.
Currently I have link on an HTML page, and when the link is clicked, it opens a flash movie with slideshow and a semi transparent black background. The way I have it set up is as follows
CloseButton.as (the close button for the slideshow)
FullBackground.as (the black background)
MainContent.as (loads the slideshow)
then I have
main.fla (loads the CloseBtn, FullBG, and MainContent)
preloader.fla (loads the main.fla .swf)
I need to do exactly the same, but using an animation inside a mc instead of a pixel background. Does anyone know how to do that?

But I guess it doesn't work because it's not mp3. I also tried embedding it into the hit and down parts of my button but the playback is weird, it plays slower and broken up. I'd like there to be some sort of function buttons such as play, pause, stop and some kind of time slider like for video playback if that's possible too?

View 1 RepliesWhen publishing a project from Camtasia Studio 7, the params list includes a setting for quality. But instead of the usual "high" value, it sets it to "best". I Google'd and searched these forums but had no luck finding any definitive explanation if these two settings are equivalent. Can anybody enlighten? This topic also spurred another question, does the quality default to the highest value if the parameter value is invalid?

View 3 RepliesI have successfully exported images a number of times. However, my question has to do with exporting high quality images. It is my understanding that if you have some sort of draw-space (your user is drawing to with a pen tool or whatever) that is a sprite or movieclip you can then export that area to bitmap data then use a jpegencode class to encode it. My issue is that if the draw-space is 400x400 then the PNG/JPG output is going to be 400x400 and pixelate terribly if you try to make it larger. My project requires that the image be output at something like 3 megapixels or better quality. So I guess my question really is, how do you offer a user a small workspace (like 400x400) to draw and doodle in, then export that drawing into a large high quality image that can be used in printing (3-16 megapixels would be awesome)?

but when i try to use print option in flashPlayer, to save swf as a pdf it generates pdf but withOut effect i mentioned above.
Is there anyway to make a certain MC in a movie with low quality while the rest are all high quality? Like, I got this movie right, but I used a pixel font for the body text, and no matter what I try the text is ALWAYS antialiased.. I need to be Aliased and the only way to do that is to make the movie low quality.. but that messes up everything else...Is there a setting to keep the text low quality? I am using (fonts for flash).
