I'd like to get your thoughts on the best way to deliver full-browser (scale to the size of the browser window) video. I'm skilled in the creation of the content but learning to make the most out of Flash CS5 and would love to hear what you would suggest.Most of the tutorials I can find on full browser/scalable video are for earlier versions of Flash; what is the best practice today? Best resolution/format for the video? If there is an Adobe guide to this I'm happy to eat humble pie if someone can redirect me to it; I'm using CS5 Production Premium.I like the full screen video effect they have on the "Sounds of pertussis" web-site;

I'm creating a site and am trying to achieve a full screen video background like this: [URL]. The idea is that it adapts to any screen resolution/size (is this called ScaleMode?) Which is the easiest way to get this effect - is there some sort of code or application to make it easier? Also, which video size should I pick so it shows correctly in all resolutions?

I am creating website for our company which uses intranet. We require the best quality website with high resolution pics. When I published it using FLASH CS4. It looks like low quality pics & even the whole .swf file looks low quality movie.

I'm looking to create a site that has video playing full browser in the background. A very perfect example lies here:[URL]..As you can see, the video is scaled according to stage resize while the menus and such stay where they should like a perfect liquid layout. I've watched the Liquid Layout video (from this site i'm pretty sure?) and understand how to position objects on the stage according to stage resize, but I've never figured out how to scale only the video like that. The only way I've been able to do that is by setting my publish settings to NoBorder with 100% width and height, but that defeats the whole liquid layout because it scales your entire swf. I feel like it's some sort of math I'm not grasping.
I'm probably wrong, but I feel like the way I'd go about doing this would be to set everything up as a liquid layout site; that is specify stage align and scale to TOP_LEFT and NO_SCALE. I'd have my liquid menu items positioned accordingly with a resize function and for the background video I'd use a FLV Playback Component that would be manipulated through another as3 function to scale accordingly. I'd use a Playback Component so as to be able to load multiple external videos (.h264) when a link was clicked. Am I on the right track? AS3 only please!

I'm creating a flash site, AS2, with a video as the background.I'm using a stage listener with a onResize() function to re-size and position my video according to the stage size.My problem is that now the browser will show no scroll (I assume that's because it "thinks" there is no content outside of the browser), but I want it, at a certain minimum size to stop resizing the video, and display scrollers on the browser.

i got this somewhat full browser video, and my nav isn't directly on the video, its above the video. Meaning there are no animation or elements on the video.
However, when i rollover my nav while the video plays, my nav rollovers lag, but wheni pause the video, everything is smooth like it should be?
i feel like im overlooking something here because most sites are really smooth when it comes to something this basic.

I would like to incorporate Flash animations into video editing applications but when I save the Flash files as movies the quality is not there (Flash affects fall off, trails and such). I am new to Flash CS5 and I am working on a Flash animation project. I drew everything in Illustrator CS5 and imported these drawings in Flash to do the animation. I have different scenes & exported them all as separate movie clips. I was thinking of using Final Cut Pro to make the final movie, but the video quality is not good & its pixelated.and whats the most suitable render width & height for tv screening ?

I asked this earlier but maybe I didn't give enough information. I am working on a website where video quality is very important and the client is delivering me the video already compressed. I then want to import it to flash CS3 and export it as .flv for progressive download with the media playback component. I have done all of this successfully in a sense that it all works but the video quality is not good enough, it's good but the client says it;s a bit grainy. I used the highest setting in Flash, on2 vp6 at 700kbs.
My question is what is the best file format (.mov etc) and what settings should the client use, so I can create the highest quality .flv export from their .mov file? Second question, I used an 8 second buffer but now the client is saying they don't want it to buffer at all. What are the other options besides progressive download, I have never delved into this before?

I just converted a WMV to flash video .flv through the wizard in Flash CS3 Pro. It converted it OK, but made quite a large file.Is it possible to produce a file of lower size and quality.Is there a bit-rate setting somewhere?(We have some people outside the US in developing countries who don't have such a good connection.Whats about the lowest you would go in terms of quality / bitrate?)

I have a higher resolution .flv file and I'm trying to replace an older version within my Flash file. However once replace (by use of the "swap video" feature when right clicking video), it blows the video up way bigger. When trying to scale down the video, it become fuzzy/pixelated upon output to .swf. Any proper way to resize this higher-res video without loosing picture quality?

I have a full-browser background slideshow. To do this, I'm using some AS in conjunction with the handy dandy swffit. I would like to ensure that the slideshow scales appropriately with the browser window size (as it is currently doing), but I would lilke the location of my logo, which is in the lower left hand corner, to remain fixed so that it is not pushed out of view when the browswer gets scaled to a small size.

Inside of the getVideoReveiver() function I'm getting the flag to go off from writeText("flag") then I get and output in the text box of:
NetStream.Play.Reset
NetStream.Play.Start
from the netStreamHandler, but the video never shows up in the receiving video element.I'm running this is two different videos of the same computer and taking the nearID from one stream and pasting it into the textInput theirID. I'm not sure what to try next?

I've landed a project which is centered around building a custom video player with some special functionality (so I can't just use the default Flash video player, unfortunately). I have two small 'problems' in the sense that I could probably solve them myself, but I'd like some input on best practice for solving them: (The project is for Flash Player 10 and the video is intended to run inside a browser.)
Problem 1: Toggling between normal / fullscreen playback Ok, so my custom video player needs to be able to toggle between fullscreen and normal embedded-in-webpage player size. How does fullscreen toggling currently work in AS3 -is there a specific AS3 method for fullscreening a specified video object in the swf (without stretching the video player UI overlay), and if so, does it automatically black out the background if the screen format doesn't match the video format? - or do I need to download a class for this?
Problem 2: Positioning video player UI when going fullscreen As opposed to YouTube, I want the player UI to still show up when the video is toggled to fullscreen mode - but as mentioned above, I don't want to stretch its size along with the video. So is there a best practice for repositioning the video player UI to the vertical bottom and horizontal center of the screen when the user clicks full screen? I'm not entirely familiar with what happens to the Flash stage when it goes full screen, How to deal with not knowing the coordinates of the vertical bottom/horizontal center when screens have different ratios and resolutions?

I am putting together a presentation for some in flash and will be exporting as an .exe file so they can play it fullscreen on there laptop. Its all working fine apart from one slide where I have included a video (FLV) which is loaded externally. Where I have the .exe in full screen mode the video automatically jumps to full screen mode and I cant see any of the the other images/text surrounding it. How do I go about not letting the video scaling to fullscreen and the rest staying as is?

I am working in Flash CS3 and Actionscript 3.0 My application resizes according to browser width and height. If the user first resizes the browser and then loads the flash application, I could not get the full browser width untill the user goes for full screen. Is there any way around, to get the full browser width before the user goes for full screen.

I've always been frustrated when I use the FLV video player component because it does not create the full-screen button For example, I have a 1280x720 F4V video. I want to use the FLV component to play it. But I want it to be on the stage half that size (640x360) and then give viewer option to click full screen to play it at 1280x720 (like YouTube does).So I'm basically stuck with the same old player controller that flash CS4 generates with no full screen capability.

When I watch flash videos (mostly in hd and from youtube or gametrailers) in full screen, the frame rate becomes noticably slower. I have tried the 10.1 beta3 and this fixes the frame rate issue, but several times per video the image garbles. Everything runs fine outside of fullscreen. Otherwise I'm using Vista/Win7 64 bit with a 2.6 ghz Core 2 Duo, a radeon 4850 (latest drivers), and 2+ gigs of free memory. When running 10.1 without hardware acceleration or earlier versions with default settings my cpu usage never goes above 20% on each core. Does anyone know how to fix the image garblng or low framerates while in full screen?

Video Displaying full screen I imported a video, which i have generated using the Adobe Media Encoder (size of the video 1080x450px). I am creating a 3 page slide show for an HD TV with a native resolution of 1920x1080px.
I have a new Flash file with that very stage (stage of my file is 1920x1080px). I placed a logo and then the video, positioned these two elements on the stage the way i wanted them and am trying to output them.
Issue: When i run the SWF file (which includes the video and the logo at a stage size of 1920x1080), the video takes up the whole screen with black lines above and below it. It almost feels as it is replicating a widescreen.

I have a project which has flv videos embedded in it, and when they are full screened using Flash's default player control skins it scales it so the width of the video matches the width of the monitor. Since the video is more square and the monitor is wider, this cuts off the top and bottom of the video.Ideally it would scale it so that it matches the vertical space, and leaves a black bar on the left and right of the video.

Ive imported an FLV into a Project. Some computers wont play the video back if the Flash Player is set to Full Screen. The screen goes black during Full Screen. If you set the player to regular, you can see the video playing (embedded into design) but once you set player to Full Screen the video plays on its own right at centre of screen. Im working on a Touch Screen Display that has the display set to Portrait mode. Im investigating if the display card is causing the problem.
