I'm still new at Flex. I want to make a flex code that request data to server everytime. I use java as a server. i have successfully generate a linked-list of data at server from asterisk cli command. like this
Im trying to make connection from flex to java and from java to mysql. I managed to connect to java, but having error that class not found: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver. But i downloaded mysql.jar, included it added to library, and connection works when i testing it from clipse scrapbook. Dont know what to do, i spend last couple days on this.
Basically the solution was simple. Everybody keeps saying to put jar into lib folder, so i done it, but i wasnt realised that i have to put into my servers lib directory, not app lib directory and this miserable mistake cost so much. Anyway i hope this will help for some newbie like me.In this particular situation im using red5, so i putted it into my red5 dist/lib directory and "surprisingly" its started to work.
I have many layers in the main stage. on frame 20, I have this code drawing a curve between two countries in "Lines" layer . I have another layer right above this layer called "mask" in which in frame 20, I make a rectangle and until frame thirty, I move the rectangle with tween. I right clicked on the mask layer and set mask. Hoping that by masking the layer below it, I can make the curve being draw real time. But it is not working.
I want to have a banner with text. I want to be able to edit the text on the banner. When I edit the text, I want the new text to display instantaneously, for everyone who is viewing the banner. They don't need to refresh or anything; the banner changes as soon as I edit it.
I am working on a project using flex/java/blazeds. This worked fine on local host however now that i have uploaded to a tomcat server(online), after having an error with the service uri, this error has now seemingly been solved, yet I am receiving another error which is as follows:
I have a C executable (named myprogram). When I run it by ./myprogram I get some output statements on the standard output of my Linux shell. I used run.php to get access to whatever is being printed to the standard output:
Then I called an HTTPService having id="service" to access this run.php file and I also set the text attribute of a TextArea to {service.lastResult}. When I run my Flex app, the interface kind of halts for a moment and then the TextArea displays all the 20 lines at once. But if program is run from Linux shell they appear one by one. Is there a way by which I can display a line as soon as it gets printed to standard output? This will then make the TextArea show the output in real time.
Or is Flex unable to do this? Rather how can a PHP program achieve such effect i.e. showing, whatever is being printed on standard output, concurrently in the browser in real time? Myprogram outputs 20 lines each after some microseconds. I want only the first line of standard output to appear in TextArea of Flex or in the browser (but in real time) while the program may then continue running the program.
I have a Flex/AIR application communicating with a PHP server application. Recently my client requested real-time-like connectivity between the applications to replace what we currently have; refresh buttons which have to be clicked to refresh data.So effectively the server needs to push data to the client when something changes. I can write the code that detects when something changes, but I'm not sure about the push side of things.
I am using the same java server given there. and I am creating the XmlSocket in a flex air application. When I run my air application I get a java.net.SocketException connection reset at the java server.
I have a Flex application that connects to a BlazeDS server using the StreamingAMF channel. On the server-side the logic is handled by a custom adapter that extends ActionScriptAdapter and implements FlexSessionListener and FlexClientListener interfaces.
I am asking how can I detect which "flex-client" has closed a connection when for example the user is closing the browser? (so I can clean some infos inside the database)
I tried using the following:
1. To manually manage the command messages:
@Override public Object manage(final CommandMessage commandMessage) { switch (commandMessage.getOperation()) {
I want to build an android application that visualize some real time data , to get the position of objects and update it in real time and give me a simple animation . studied OpenGL ES for couple of days but it seems quite complicated but I dont think it fits to my needs
I have been developing an application(a website to be more precise) which consists of a flex front end which is constantly sending and receiving data from the back end which is programmed in java. The connection between the two components is being done through blazeds. This worked fine while I was running it locally, however when I uploaded both sides of the application to a tomcat server(online) the following error is being returned when a connection between the components should occur:URL...I have read around about this error and many seem to getting this error when making connections between different servers, unlike here, where the connection is occurring within the same server.
I am trying to update a visual component giving some information in 1st state, while I make changes in the 2nd State...Question : Is it possible ? If yes, then is just data binding the solution? how ?!
Clearer Description :
State 1 : Has a form, in which I enter some data value for 3 boxes.
State 2 : Has 3 boxes, who have to change in color based on what values were entered in State 1.
Purpose : User 1 will enter data in with State 1 open, while User 2 should be able to see the dynamic/real-time effect while he is in State 2.
My client is in Flash/Flex (game with chat) and it will be talking to a Java server. What is the best way (protocol / interface) for my Flash client to talk to my server? I heard about Flash Remoting MX, but it is a request / response mechanism. I could always request something and wait for asynchronous notifications from server. Then request again, implementing something like a Comet server.Anyways, what is the industry standard for this type of communication: Flash Client talking to Java server, supporting asynchronous "push" notifications from server.
I'm developing a flash thingy that connects to the youtube api. The website that contains the flashthingy is developed locally on my computer. I don't konw why flash does this, but it doesn't connect to anything on the real web. E.g. the youtube api. As soon as I deploy the project to a real server everything works fine.
Since I have a lot of dev still before me I'd love to test this stuff locally. what I have to do in order to get flash connected to real websites?
I've designed a flash [as2 php xmlsocket] chatroom , it works fine in localhost but i don't know how to run on real website server.I've uploaded the files but when i run the flash it can't establish a connection.What server requirements i need for xmlsocket?
I'm trying to detect the user's connection speed by first loading a swf that i know the size of then taking 2 timer measurements before and after loading and then working out how fast they downloaded the file.
My problem is that when I try to test this locally using the 'Simulate Download' option in Flash I have to run the movie twice (it won't simulate 56k on the first run) and it looks like Flash has cached the movie the second time it runs (loading a 12k file in less than 100 ms wasn't typical of my old 56k connection!). I have 56k selected in the simulate menu. All of this is making it difficult for me to check how my movie loads and responds under a slow connection.
I'm working on creating a new look for my portfolio and had a concept.I would like have one movie clip tween in real time 365 frame increments, while another moves in real time minute or second increments.Along with this, I would like to be able to override the passage of time by scrolling an associated scrollbar.The two tweens would be independent of one another.
I have implemented application client-server with spring blazeDs message services using JMS message destination. The idea is a producer declared in Java send message using activeMQ and consumer declared in Flex receives them. I have configured the AMFChannel with a polling interval 0, but I have seen when the consumer subscribes to the destination in Flex, the time request can be of up to 3 seconds.
i have a login system done in flex.once the user logs in and if he refreshes the page it will take you back to the login page.how can i make the logged in user stay in the same page using flex and java only?and also if once user is logged in and another loggs in with the same user name and passwrod how can i handle dat using flex and java?
I am trying to make a flex application where it gets data from a telnet connection and I am running into a weird problem.To give a brief introduction, i want to read data from a process that exposes it through a socket. So if in the shell i type telnet localhost 8651i receive the xml and then the connection is closed (I get the following Connection closed by foreign host.)
Anyway i found a simple tutorial online for flex that essentially is a telnet client and one would expect it to work but everything follows Murphy's laws and nothing ever works.Now i have messages being printed in every event handler and all places that i can think off. When i connect to the socket nothing happens, no event handler is triggered even the connect or close handler and if i do the following the socket.connected returns false! I get no errors, try catch raises no exception. I am at a loss as to whats going wrong?
Is there something about telnet that i do not know and its causing this to not work. Whats more interesting is why none of the events get fired.The following is the python code that works!
I'm developing a Flex application using RobotLegs, LiveCycle DS & Java.I'm trying to implement an update function, using LCDS, but I'm running into some strange behaviour:This is the ActionScript code within a RobotLegs' execute command, used to perform the update:
var token:AsyncToken = services.requestService.commit(new Array(model.currentRequestDetail)); responder = new AsyncResponder(resultHandler, faultHandler, token);
I'm currently using the Graphics library to draw bands of color across an image (bitmap).So, I draw a square of colored bands, and mask it with the bitmap image. Unfortunately, when I use a mask (or even set the blend mode to .LAYER, OR use a shader filter) the FPS drops to un-usable levels.Is there some way that I can draw the bitmap shape I want without killing the FPS? I was thinking that I could like, draw the bitmap on top of the sqaure of Graphics, and then make a certain color transparent.
Is it possible to play the video (mp4) in real time using some flash player? What I mean by in real-time is that player would receive data on the fly, not from alredy saved file but e.g. php script (which sends appropriate content-type header) THAT IS DOWNLOADING AND 'ECHO-ing' THE FILE AT THE TIME PLAYER PLAYS IT - like e.g. some kind of live stream.
I'm developing an application and i want to make one single connection for video(netstream) and chat(sharedObject).I have one connection for each but i have limited connection available in the server so i need to make a single connection to handle the video net stream and chat sharedObject.I use this urls to connect:
private var serverWebcamURL:String = "rtmp://myserverIP/live"; private var serverChatURL:String = "rtmp://myserverIP/multicast/chat";
We're currently building a fairly big dynamic website, and I was wondering if there was a way to have an animation that updates and move in real time as there's action on the site. Ex. red bulbs light up each time a user posts something on the forum or whatever. It'd be all related to the mysql database.
