i have a login system done in flex.once the user logs in and if he refreshes the page it will take you back to the login page.how can i make the logged in user stay in the same page using flex and java only?and also if once user is logged in and another loggs in with the same user name and passwrod how can i handle dat using flex and java?

The idea is a producer declared in Java send message using activeMQ and consumer declared in Flex receives them. I have configured the AMFChannel with a polling interval 0, but I have seen when the consumer subscribes to the destination in Flex, the time request can be of up to 3 seconds.

I'm working on a project for a User Interface Design class, so the emphasis is on the UI being as nice to use and non-annoying as possible. I would like to display a message to the user after they've clicked save, for example, without requiring them to click an OK button. I'm thinking of the kind of thing you see in gmail if you send a message or do some other actions, where a message appears on the screen, but the message disappears after you do something else.
I'm sure there's a way to do this in Flex (I'm using 4.6), but I just don't know what it is. I'm pretty new to Flex and I'm having trouble finding anything via Google, because the results keep showing confirmations messages in Alerts; I don't know the search terms to get the results I'm looking for.
I have a colleague who will be using Adobe Flex and adobe flash builder to design the application. The final application will be in that software. I am creating the database features and testing them using online browsers.What I want to know is that some alerts I am getting a 'prevent this message from multiple dialogues' message on the alert but this is because of the browsers. But if the application is on flex and flash builder (I don't know which one is where the app is stored coz I have never used it) then will that message appear on some alerts in that software or is it only on browsers?[code]
View 2 RepliesI have 12 display monitors installed in different floors in a building. These monitors display announcements that will be update once in a day. I'm retrieving these announcements from db and storing in an array and displaying it all day long. In addition to this, I have a requirement to display emergency alert messages on the monitors. My Server is a windows 2000 server. I'm using asp for creating the JSON object.
For the emergency alert I am thinking of doing this:
Create a page in asp that lets user to enter emergency msg and save to db.
Create a page in asp that will check if there an emergency msg in db and show it in a asp page in json.
Create a timer that pings this json page every 1 second. If it's available then show it.
Is there any other sophisticated method available to poll the server or to send messages from server to client?
I am using BlazeDS for data-push feature in my Flex application project. From the official tutorial, Getting started with BlazeDS, it shows messaging example with producer/consumer from API. but how can I implement server side which doesn't need to be invoke from Flex client, but from within server-side instead. I got some idea but I don't know how to do because I'm a Flex developer, not Java developer In Google, there's a tutorial show about I need to extend ServiceAdapter class in Java-side, which extends Invoke method. Do I need to extend other class instead of this to do what I want?

I am having an issue where I show an AlertBox message when the user hits ENTER and the focus is in a text area. The pop up works fine, but when the user hits enter the Alert closes as expected, but the TextArea listener receives the ENTER event from the Alert and pops the dialog up again. I have tried a number of ways to catch and eat the event but so far I have not been lucky. Is there way to accomplish this?

Can I Use data from external Text file for JavaScript alert message in flash? I wanted to change the alert message dynamically using the external text file.
1. I created the text file with data as: &Enter=Please Enter
2. And the flash action script i used is as below..

I was wondering if anyone might know why my Alert box doesn't appear when viewing the .swf in firefox when I click on the button that evaluates the code responsible activating the Alert.show command. It appears when I open the .swf in the flash player and inside the 'play movie' command within Flash itself. Do I need to include some type of file in the relative directory?

View 2 RepliesWe are planning to make a POC for Desktop Alert application. We will have a desktop AIR app that will connect to a Java Server. The server will need to notify Desktop App when it has a notification which will be displayed on the screen.A couple of options that we have discovered are :
1. Keep a persistent connection between the AIR app and the Server, using some sockets and listen to any changes.
2. Poll the Server at intervals to check if some new data has come.
Since these options don't seem optimal (persistent connection) or seems performance wise (polling) better.
I have a problem with Map objects, while using Gravity. All messages works ok, except the ones which includes Map objects. They throw the following exception:ArgumentError: Error #2173: Could not read the object in the stream. though lass:org.granite.collections.BasicMap do not implement flash.utils.IExternalizable,but we know that it's Class:externalizable by its alias.I've found that this error occurs when you do not include granite-essentials.swc, but I don't think that's the case, because normal messaging using RemoteObject works fine, even with Map objects

View 1 Repliesi'm working on a project that uses php and xml to link my database information with flash. I've successfully allowed flash to read the xml contents. I need to randomise the data i retrieved from the database, so my xml content will change everytime i refresh the browser. However, i realised that the flash content didn't change like the xml content. The script to read the xml is written on the 1st frame of my 1st scene. Is there a way to read the xml again everytime i refresh the browser or re-enter the scene?
View 2 RepliesIn my Flex app I give the user the ability to open up a new item form ( s:Panel ) and create multiple items on the page.Sometimes for some odd reason bringing up the panel (simple task) seems to take a really long time to load (like 30 seconds or so) However, the weird thing is that if right after I click to open I navigate away from the Tab and back again to the Flex app tab it shows up right away.
I'm not sure if this has to do with refresh rate or some setting or is it general performance/memory issue with my app that I have to consider. When the application work it works fairly fast which is making me think it's not memory/performance issue.

I am showing some sensitive material that requires an NDA from the viewer. the material is in the form of .flv movies that are embedded in my flash site. After we allow people to watch the movies I go to our servers and delete the .flv files. however some web browsers keep this in their cache, like IE. So basically I want o know if there is a script I can use that will refresh the viewers browser after we view it and after I delete the .flv files causing the .flv files to no longer be in their cache.
