This is supposed to fetch me the PATH of the image, the name so it goes on the label of the tile that displays the image, and brings me also the id so i can launch another query when that image is clicked on.
All this is set into a dynamically created XML.
What to do o AS3?? I already have the AS3 for the tilelist, i only need to load this dynamically created XML from PHP to it.
Looking to load data from a MySQL database into a Tile List component. Not sure where to start to be honest, I've got a set up just now to add data from the same database into a List component - should I just use the same code and change it accordingly?
Or is there a simpler, more effective manner of loading my required info (it is a title and an image (x4), which changes regularly, ie every week depending on the sort applied for the products)[code]...
has anyone made a Custom Skin for a TileList component in Flash CS5. I want to change the scrollbar of the TileList, i want the track bar as just a thin white line and the thumb a orange circle, this for a Touch Interface.
I am looking to create a flash gallery which imports images from a mysql datbase and links associated to the image which will also be in the databae . The idea is to show the user in a carousel style the last picture added to the database at the front and if that or any other picture within the carousel is clicked another swf will load.Using php will do I just don't know where to start.

I am relatively new to flash, xml and php. I am looking to load a video which the url is stored in a mysql database into flash.I have stored the video url into the database.But how do i display it in flash?
I want people to be able to upload images so should I have them upload it into a db using BLOB or should I have them upload it to the web server? I've been reading people say that the web server is probably better to use, but I don't know about that using AS.
I'm working on an online photo catalog, it works in straight PHP/HTML but the photos are too easy to grab (Facebook and myspace are loaded with my photos). For various reasons, I would prefer to store binary data like images and videos as BLOBs within a MySQL database and have Flash retrieve that content directly from the database as opposed to getting it from a URL on a fileserver. So, I have written a PHP script that Flash calls which does a database query and returns the bitmap data from the BLOB. I have verified that the image data is being sent from the database through the PHP, but Flash either doesn't display the image or gives me an error saying that it is an unknown type.

Is there a way to get Loader() to accept bitmap image data that is retrieved from a BLOB in a database? Should I try to get PHP to mimic the response from an HTTP server or is there another way to load bitmap data stored as a BLOB into a display object?
I like to call for different SWF files from a link in a MySQL database to use in a Detailpage with PHP. Photos and text are no problem. The AC code is probably complicating things.
Iw allready done the register and login thingy now save/loading with Php and MySQL. Every user should have hes own save under hes username and password.
All images loaded are in landscape proportions. I would like to resize the images that are loaded to a set height (the photo might have to be either enlarged or reduced) but maintain the proportions of the picture (i.e the resize the width to keep proportions)
I have placed TextFileds inside TileList Compontent. When i try to select the TextField it can't show the selected Textfield in the TileList items by default the TileList items are selected.Finally i need to select the TextFields.

I have a typical Flex-based application that was written to use a Java/Hibernate/MySQL backend. The client changed the requirements - now they want to distribute it on a CD where the user can just run the app without any installation or a network connection.
To do this, I certainly need to eliminate the web server and the database server and adapt my application (with as few changes as possible, of course) to a stand-alone application that will fit on a CD/DVD. I've managed to export the data to XML and read it into Flex, but I'm wondering if there's a way to recreate the Hibernate data structures in Flex so I could change as little code as possible. Failing that, is there any way to keep the existing Java/Hibernate external to the Flex code but retrievable without installing Apache Tomcat or MySQL?

I got this demo Flash file which loads images through XML and adds different effects. Currently it's being used as a banner on a page. Now I have been asked to keep the effects but to embed to pictures inside Flash (so to get rid of the XML). how to change this to not read from XML. I stopped using Flash back in MX era... :S

Then, after loading a list of images from an XML file, I call a function that I called "createImages". This function then takes the list of images and creates a bunch of loaders:

So far, so good! I now have a bunch of loaders each with a different name "img1","img2","img3" etc.
I'm building a thumbnail viewer in Flash CS5 using the TileList component. I know that you can adjust the alpha of the label background, but is there any way to simply move it so it appears below the thumbnail? I already created a new class which extends the ImageCell class, but I can't seem to find any methods to control the positioning of the label.
