ActionScript 3.0 :: Dynamically Load Data Into TileList Via MySQL And PHP / XML?

Looking to load data from a MySQL database into a Tile List component. Not sure where to start to be honest, I've got a set up just now to add data from the same database into a List component - should I just use the same code and change it accordingly?
Or is there a simpler, more effective manner of loading my required info (it is a title and an image (x4), which changes regularly, ie every week depending on the sort applied for the products)[code]...

I have a mysql database with a table containing PATH's to images.
I want to load al the images to a TileList. Now i have this in PHP:

mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "root");
mysql_select_db("prototipo");

This is supposed to fetch me the PATH of the image, the name so it goes on the label of the tile that displays the image, and brings me also the id so i can launch another query when that image is clicked on.
All this is set into a dynamically created XML.
What to do o AS3?? I already have the AS3 for the tilelist, i only need to load this dynamically created XML from PHP to it.

I like to call for different SWF files from a link in a MySQL database to use in a Detailpage with PHP. Photos and text are no problem. The AC code is probably complicating things.

I am trying to load data from mysql to xml to flash using actionscript and php. Im doing something wrong but not sure what.Basically, my php file (latestnews.php) looks like this

this is placed in the same frame number as the dynamic text fields but on a seperate layer. The dynamic text fields are:
Title_txt
Comments_txt
Date_txt
There is no output error but nothing is showing up. The file is using actionscript 2.0 and wondering if the actionscript i am using is write for that format?

I do know how to retrieve the data from my table needed but how is this inserted the combobox ?

Im new to placing external data into Flash. I just got CS3 and Im trying to use Flash to dynamically load XML data via a FlashVars call in the HTML.
The problem is I have followed the very straight forward AS2 Help files for using FlashVars and URL variables.I have placed the code directly from the Help file into the Html between

I have 2 TileList component in my Flex application. 1 tilelist is filled with data much like following xml sample:

<likes>Flex</likes>
<likes>PHP</likes>
</person>

data shown is the preference.
The user can click the first tilelist and then the items that person "likes" should be selected in the second tilelist (in other words they lit up). Click event on my first tilelist

I'm working for the first time with a TileList and an itemRenderer and I'm having a bit of trouble getting the information from my array collection to display Here's what I've got

I got a music portfolio web site running PHP, MySQL and Flash. There's a page showing all the artists my client worked for and when you click on a song title, this title is passed as a variable to a PHP page then to a Flash page. The Flash page contains an actionscript music player which then looks for the right audio file in the database and plays the song. Everything works great except for the dynamic text field which displays the song title. If the song title contains an apostrophe or a single quote, the Flash dynamic text field then shows the apostrophe.[code]

I am using a TileList control with an effect sequence linked to the itemsChangeEffect property.[code]...
However, my data provider is a ListCollectionView that I use to filter items. When I set a filter criteria, it will hide a couple of items from the TileList but there is no animation like when I remove an item. Is there a way to animate the TileList when an item is filtered ?

I have been working on a Flash movie that loads variable data from an external XML file and dynamically displays the item names in a menu which may then be clicked to display other dynamically-loaded content that corresponds to the menu item that was clicked. I have now come to a standstill in the project as there is something I'd like to achieve but simply cannot work out how. This is my first attempt at working with XML in Flash and one of my early attempts at using variables. What I'm trying to achieve is; once the user has viewed the item's content, they can simply click "next" and "previous" buttons to display all of the content for the next or previous items in the XML document.
I know it probably sounds simple and I'm sure some of you could achieve this in 5 minutes (!) but I can't get my head around some of the coding. I assume previousSibling and nextSibling would come into play here as well as some sort of functions which access arrays of data for the previous and next items, but I'm just not sure how to correctly put these things to use. In my case, personDetails is an Array, and in theory, it could be some other object... But is it really necessary to make it an object? I do not intend to use that data nowhere else except within my VOPerson class. It is some associative array, and I can easily transform it to another object, but there will be lots of similar situations in my app, so I would like to avoid making unnecessary (value) objects if there is no need for it...

I need to pass private data from MySQL to a flash file securely. I have a PHP script that is assigning variables on the server side - how do I pass this to flash without being available publically? I assume XML and an HTTP query string are out of the question because of security. What's the most secure way of doing this? Basically I have some file paths that I need to load into a music player - however, I don't want these URLs to be publicly known. I was hoping I could pass data directly to flash securely somehow.

I don't like cookies. For saving data, submitting scores, etc. I'd like everything to be submitted into user's accounts in a mySQL database. I can do all that very easily with PHP, but how would I make it worth with flash/actionscript (I mainly/am used to working with AS2, but I have Flash CS5 now, so I can work with AS3 if necessary or more efficient). I have no idea how to mix actionscript with other languages (other than using a link with get variables, but, aside from the obvious reasons why that won't work, I'd prefer, if possible, to transmit data without any page reloading).
Are there any security holes or downsides I should consider before making a flash login system? I'd like to allow users to login if they wish to submit their score or save their data (mainly for users playing on a third-party site).

I've scripted a connection to PHP that gets data from MYSQL and outputs that into a datagrid.When I encrypt the swf with Ameyata SWF Encrypt 5.0, and upload it to my webhost, it looks fine. I can click the header of the datagrid (that sorts the data), but when I click on a field of the datagrid, it just freezes and my datagrid is not usable. I'd have to reload the page in order to do something with the datagrid again. But the problem with the field remains.It works when I'm not encrypting the swf.URL...

I have a move clip called 101.

assigned to 101. Inside of 101 I have dynamic text fields with the var names of price, fee, and state.I have a movieclip 102 that is exactly like 101. What I need to know is, how can differentiate 101 from 102 so that when the db data comes in that 101 and 102 display different info?Also, I can't change the var names. They must stay as price, fee, and state in both movieclips.
