I'm using cs4 and all I did was draw a gradient. The thing is that it looks crappy. I have attached the exported .swf file so you can take a look. How do I get a smooth gradient ? this can't be the best flash has to offer right? . I mean its a vector based gradient so it should be smooth. I tried both checking and unchecking the "Linear RGB" checkbox under colors.
View 1 RepliesI'm working on a project and the deadline is near but I'm stuck at making my video presentation work. So here's the problem: it should be played linearly and non-linearly. Because the video files are long, i keep them in 9 seperate swfs. If you don't press any buttons, the presentation runs smoothly, but the problems start when you try to jump forward/backward to another part. Here's my code so far (I don't have much experience with as3, so it's mostly based on tutorials):

When I click on a button, it plays the same swf over and over... but i want to keep it in order (such as in the array). It used to work, but I had problems with sound and must've messed something up.
Should be relatively simple to do but I can't see how to do this from the documentation on CheckBoxes...
I need to be able to manually set whether or not a CheckBox is 'checked' (or 'ticked' or whatever you want to call it) in my code, how on earth do I do this? Been hunting around for ages to find out how to do this with no luck whatsoever!
This PHP contact form works well and is very simple. I have one checkbox in the fla file. However, it keeps displaying 'No' in the email message field, whether the checkbox is selected or not. I am using datagrid and added 3 columns to it in flex project. Data is provided to each column by using itemrenderer. Itemrenderer is checkbox for each column. Name of columns are col1,col2,col3. I want to make the checkbox in col1 selected when i selects the checkbox in col2. But i am not able to do this.

Is there a place online where I can find like 16 linear gradients that match good with each other? I need them for a chart of mine and the ones generated (by Flex) aren't good enough.
So, I'm kind off searching for a library of gradients (linear in my case).

What I have in mind is to have a word being spelled out as the page is loaded. So the loader 'fills' from point A to point B, but not necessarily along a straight line.

I'm making changes to this website i didn't build everything was going fine with the xml. I have to make changes to this file called content.swf but i don't know how this file was created, i'm assuming it was created with a file called Main.as When I try to export Main.as a swf i get this mx.core error. I know this is a flex package. I download flex sdk 3 and 4. When I try to export Main.as in flash CS5 it tells me I need to locate the flex path, so i choosed flex sdk3 and flex sdk4 on two different occasions it still wont work.

View 4 RepliesI've built a slider which also contains an input textfield. the slider can be dragged and it's value will be updated in the textfield. a user can also enter a value in the textfield which will then be reflected in the slider. All is fine thusfar. However, I'd like to figure out how to give the slider an exponential scale instead of a linear one. Say the slider has a minimum value of 0 and a max of 100. When the slider is dragged halfway then using a linear scale it's value would ofcourse be 0.5 * 100 = 50. To calculate the value for the exponential scale I use

I have imported two images from PS to Flash in PNG format. They are the perfect size and ready to use (i.e. not scaling these images). When I convert them to movies, the animation looks great in Flash, but when I export them they only look good when I have the HTML settings set to "Best". If I don't have this setting on, it looks like crap (i.e. very jagged). These are photos btw, not vector images or shapes.
The reason I want this to be optimized without the control of HTML is because I am creating web banners for advertising. When I submit my swf file to the webmaster, they basically will embed the swf with whatever settings they choose. If they don't have the setting on "Best", the file looks like crap. Allow smoothing is on.
1. When I import the PNG image, can I safely select JPG compression via the Bitmap Properties? Or do I need to keep it as lossless? If I select JPG, I can considerably reduce the filesize, although I'm not sure if that causes the images to look jagged as well.
2. Is there anything I can do outside the HTML settings to display my animations without the jagged edges? I need to keep my filesize under 50Kb which is pretty hard when working with photos and animation etc.
