Preloader Doesn't Work When Upload The Swf Files To Server
May 18, 2009
I created a preloader. When I test it in Flash CS4, it works fine. When I upload the swf files to my server, the preloader doesn't work. I put both swf files in the same folder.
I've made a preloader. When i load the SWF within flash, or play it from my harddisk, everything works fine. But when it's uploaded to my server, the preloader doesn't respond.
this is my preloader code:
ActionScript Code: //Import the required assets import flash.display.*;
I'm using Agile Uploader in my project to resize image before upload on client side.And it works fine except one thing: if image name contains cyrillic letters it fails with server error 500.
How to avoid this or if needed how to rename file with english letters "on fly" (possibly with javascript).
I am using a PHP upload to upload files to server. I have a loop for the 5 files to upload....
ActionScript Code: if (PDFFiles[i] != false){ PDFFiles[i].upload(uploadPHP); }
As the loop runs quicker than PHP can upload, the success of....
ActionScript Code: function fileUploaded(e:DataEvent):void { trace "Success"}
....can get out of synch. It doesn't cause me any real problems but is this bad form? Or am I better to upload one file the wait for the PHP to return success before uploading the next one?
Once the first file is successfully uploaded and the data is returned from server (onUploadCompleteData), I begin to upload the second file from FileList. Here comes the funny - listeners onOpen, onProgress, onComplete are successfully invoked in Flash, the filereference is indeed the filereference of the second file, size matches. But the onUploadCompleteData is never invoked. I checked in IE HTTP Analyzer and there is a simply no outgoing data (0 bytes), even tho the request is made. So the file "finishes" uploading like nothing would have happened but actually it didn't upload at all.
I tried to add a 30 seconds delay between uploads and that works flawless till now. So I tried, 1 sec, 3, 5, 10... didn't work. I simply cannot let a 30 seconds delay between uploads.
ActionScript Code: public function upload(file:FileReference){ //IntervalManager.clearInterval(this, "uploadInterval"); <- added interval for testing, works with 30 secs
We use the FileReference component to upload file in Flex. But if the application is deployed within an environment having NTLM authentication (Windows Integrated Authentication), the upload capability will not work, and each time a message box will be popup asking the user to input credentials.I've queried some resource from internet and it seems this is a bug of FileReference component.
i have a little trouble with my xml menu, i have this code, but went i call my full image and try to upload doesn't work. I try to put my full image in and Movie Clip with the name of contenedor. But appear a message saying "Error opening URL All work perfect less the onPress.
I need to upload a csv file from local directory to tomcat server using actionscript and Flex as frontend. The uploaded file should be queried which i have done in java using csv database driver.
Is it possible to upload files to a server, with flash only? I'm looking for a SWF file that's able to do this task.is it possible to upload a file with flash alone (no PHP or ASP)in case this is possible: is there a simple SWF-file to do this task which I could use?
I am designing a site for a photographer friend, which has no ftp experience or anything. i would like to just have a page where she can upload her photos to the webserver herself.
For this website I've put a preloader on the 1st frame and the site on the 2nd.I've tested the site after having created a small animation which makes appear the main menu, a logo and an image.Everything did work good, so I went on building the site.Now that I have created some pages I've tested again the whole site and the preloader doesn't work anymore.Testing the site on the "ctrl+enter" window and simulating the download I have a white background (both the preloader and website background are yellow) then I see the preloader for a fraction of second and suddenly the site appears.
Publishing the site on my web space the background is correctly yellow, but the preloader doesn't appear, the browser's loading bar stops at half then the preloader appears again for a fraction of seconds and suddenly the site appears (tested on Firefox, IE, Opera, Chrome and Safari, same behaviour with all of them).It looks that the preloader is become part of the site and that there is an invisibile preloader.The setting in: Publish settings -> Flash -> Script Settings -> Library Path -> Default Linkageis set to "Merged into code"the same happen if I set "Runtime Shared Library" and "Custom Preloader Loop".
I've tried to create a preloader in frame 1 which shows a small animation while the site loades. But it doesn't work as it actually loads the entire site before showing frame 1 which kinda takes the idea out of the preloader.
This is my code: stop(); addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, loading);
I recently made simple changes to a class file and a document class when I run on my PC it works when I upload to my host godaddy it doesn't reflect any change. I've tried several different browsers making sure to clear cache first but no change the only thing I can think of is that the server is caching some of the files. Do they do that? If so is there a script I can run to refresh the server cache?
I've just made a 2'nd version of my portfolio: [Code]... with xml used to read the content & i have several problems that i can't fix.
1: The site works well only in InternetExplorer. In all other browsers, jpg files are not loading correctly - they should fade in when the button is rolling & fade out when the button is rolling up, but they doesn't. Thare are also preloaders for each artwork & they doesn't appear (excepts IE). 2. The main preloader doesn't work correctly (even in IE) It appears, when about 80% of the site is loaded :S I don't know what to fix to the site to work correctly in all browsers.
why the preloader script below might not be working correctly in all browsers? It definitely loads the files properly, but the progress bar does not show in firefox. It just shows a blank screen until the files are 100% loaded, then the enter site logo appears.
I have tried the following things:
1. Using relative vs absolute file paths for the external swfs makes no difference to the behaviour.
2. Changed publish settings to export AS classes in other than the first frame - didn't have any anyway. No change.
3. Unchecked "export in first frame" for absolutely everything. Tried both checking and unchecking this for the actual loader_mc. No change.
I'd post my fla instead of code, but I'm using Flash 8 and can't save any earlier than MX2004 and people don't really seem to look at them that much when I post them. If anyone would like to see, I will upload.
Some friends asked me to build them a site so their clients could use a private part of the site to upload and download files like in a FTP program (with user/password). I've searched the web, but only found a few uploaders that don't allow to also download and manage the files uploaded. I've noticed on my searches an extension called "yamzbrowser", but it is an old piece of software, and in a quick test I've found that it is not all browser compatible. In fact, I was not able to upload a simple file using the popular IE 7...
Is there any script, extension or toll that allow multiple users to upload / download, and manage (see, delete, rename) files inside a Flash page? Maybe a HTML solution that could be loaded inside a Flash page...
I have a preloader which loads an external swf. When I test locally, everything works fine, but when I test remotely: Preloader runs.External swf doesn't load into preloader. I am using the contentPath to load my external swf, and the only as2 I am using is: on (complete) { this._parent.loaderPB._visible = false; this._parent.mcbgdloader.visible = false;} to hide the progress bar and graphic used in the preloader.
I hope I provided enough info. The preloader is a regular fla and the external uses screens.
I have a splash page. I had a preloader which worked great before I added the sound (a WAV file) and I used attachSound. Now the preloader doesn't work anymore! I have tried putting the attachSound action on the main timeline, in the movieclip, in its own movie clip, EVERYWHERE! All to no avail.
Does any one have a working fla. and php script to upload multiple files (with the specified max sizes, and file types) to a server? In addition, when there is an image being uploaded, it would be luxurious to have a thumbnail of the image being uploaded displayed.There is clearly not a simple issue. Scores of designers and developers encountered problems and headaches trying to upload multiple files with and image display (if an image is being uploaded). Even my web designer has a slight problem, although he tweaked some of the code to get a simple upload. Adobe needs to address this issue because it seems that sscores of designers and developers are having difficulty with uploading multitple files.
I have a menu which attach movie clips from the library, when I first probed the preloader there were not any linked movie clips, neither png files (because each button in the menu attach a picture which is inside the movie clip) now that I have put the movie clips in the library the preloader doesn't work and I don't know why.
I tryed to do this several times, and it didn't worked. The main problem is that if I test simulate the movie (56Kb) the preloader doesn't work. First it loads the entire file, then it loads the preloader which is not needed then, and the 2nd scene after that.
