Is it possible for a client to publish something other than a stream from a connected camera, for example, the contents of my swf stage? Ideally I would like to limit the IPs which are allowed to publish streams to the server.
I read about the Adobe Authentication Plugin, but apparently it is broken since it works only for Adobe Flash Media Live Enconder. It doesn't secure the server for other encoders that publish streams.

Feb 27, 2011I am developing a C++ program to connect FMS via RTMP, and then publish a live stream I can't use FMLE here because I need collect the H.264 NALU from somewhere and forward them to the FMS.I write a demo app, which parses H.264 encoded FLV file, and send the VideoTag in the FLV as RTMP Message content for publishing.Finally, I make it run and I can see some frames of video!But the problem is: The video does not play smoothly and it just updates some frames.
Then I looked at the NetStream event and found that:Everytime when there is a NetStream.Buffer.Full event, the frame in the video is updated and display correctly But immediately there is another NetStream.Buffer.Empty event followed and the video is frozen.

Media Server :: FLV Video Freezes After Camera Switched On But Video 'is' In File
Aug 12, 2009I had an flv recording from a webcam.It mostly recorded fine, but there's one point where I paused the broadcast for an intermission.A few minutes later the broadcast started again but the video doesn't play beyond that point, only audio plays.A few minutes later in the recording the broadcast switched to another camera and the video starts playing again just fine from there.I can't seek past the frozen point either to skip a couple of seconds ahead.The freeze is at about 9:00.If I seek to 9:01 it jumps ahead 8 minutes to where the camera switches.What's strange in this is that the video is *definitely* in the file.Using Moyea's FLV Editor Pro I converted the FLV to an MPEG and the whole video is there, so it's not that the camera stopped transmitting, it's just that the playback isn't working.

Jan 2, 2011I am trying to create a flash player to stream an on online Internet radio station using FMS. I chose FMS after being told that I need RTMP server to extract the metadata. Our radio audio is being encoded using a DJ interface called SAM Broadcaster. But for some reason, it does not have an option to send over the stream directly to a Flash Media Server. Only options are either IceCAST or ShoutCAST. How should i setup the stream? Should it be Stream encoder>> IceCAST/SHOUTCast Server>>Flash Media Server>>Flash Player Client. Or should I setup Stream Encoder>>Flash Media Server>>Flash Player Client? Shouldn't Flash Media Server be an alternative to IceCast or Shoutcast? If that is the case, how do I send over the stream from SAM Broadcaster directly to Flash Media Server without restreaming through another streaming server?

Aug 24, 2009I'm testing Live streaming with FMSS. The stream is pushed to FMSS buy Adobe FMLE software. Streaming works fine until I reach 1300-1400 simultaneous connections.No matter what the encoding ratebit is (150kbps or 2000kbps) the stream is no longer play from time to time (5-8 seconds).
The CPU (2xIntel Quad) is loaded less than 20% and memory used is about 2 GB (there is plenty of memory installed 32G). The OS is RedHat 5.3 64bit platform. Network uplink maximum rate is 4Gbps.I disabled the Queue but the problem still persist.
