Media Server :: Publish Live Stream(H.264) To FMS(NetStream.Buffer.Empty)?
Feb 27, 2011
I am developing a C++ program to connect FMS via RTMP, and then publish a live stream I can't use FMLE here because I need collect the H.264 NALU from somewhere and forward them to the FMS.I write a demo app, which parses H.264 encoded FLV file, and send the VideoTag in the FLV as RTMP Message content for publishing. Finally, I make it run and I can see some frames of video! But the problem is: The video does not play smoothly and it just updates some frames.
Then I looked at the NetStream event and found that:Everytime when there is a NetStream.Buffer.Full event, the frame in the video is updated and display correctly But immediately there is another NetStream.Buffer.Empty event followed and the video is frozen.
dvrcast is a live service.mp4: as the service record and I look over to the dvr sample player debug output messages while out NetStream.Buffer.Empty will stop.Screenshot is shown below. Is it possible to do without stopping the service?
I'm sure this has been asked and answered a million times, but searching for "application" "buffer" "cache" "live" and "hls" isn't giving me any answers, so let's get to it. After I end a live stream (which I do using FMLE 3.2 and FMS 4.5) and I then start a new live stream with the same application name, the HLS stream just loops the last 30 seconds of the old stream. To prevent this, after I end a stream, I have to go to applicationslivepkgstreams\_definst_ and delete the buffered data there. Only then can I start a new stream with the same name as the old stream. Now... that can't be normal, can it? Is there a switch somewhere I can set to tell FMS to cut it out and stop buffering old streams?
I have a requirement of publishing static content like video files mentioned in a playlist to be published to a live stream. It is like creating a TV station with pre-recorded content but with live stream. It will great if anyone let me know is it possible with FMS?
I want to use customised encoder to publish live steams to a FMS4.5 server? Is it possible to connect encoder and FMS4.5 server on HTTP protocol?i read in other articles FMLE can connect to FMS on RTMP protocol.
I want to make sure that only authenticated users are publishing streams to my Adobe Flash Media Server.
Ideally I would like to limit the IPs which are allowed to publish streams to the server.
I read about the Adobe Authentication Plugin, but apparently it is broken since it works only for Adobe Flash Media Live Enconder. It doesn't secure the server for other encoders that publish streams.
I notice that, when I pause the video, the event "NetStream.Buffer.Flush" is triggered. And according to the language reference: "Data has finished streaming, and the remaining buffer will be emptied.", I have to re-buffer it, right? However, also according to the reference, it shouldn't stop buffering:Starting with Flash Player 9.0.115.0, Flash Player no longer clears the buffer when NetStream.pause() is called. This behavior is called "smart pause". Before Flash Player 9.0.115.0, Flash Player waited for the buffer to fill up before resuming playback, which often caused a delay.I'm using Flash Professional to do the debugging, and the traced version number is: MAC 10,0,22,91, and the streaming server is FMS4
Finding faults in my reasoning, or expanding the discussion further. We are benchmarking FMS 3.5.x for live dynamic streaming and we have run across an issue. When throttling the client from a high bandwidth (1500kbps) to a low bandwidth (325kbps) via a bandwidth shaper (a physical firewall) it takes a very long (real-) time for the client to see the new stream-quality.
During the investigation of this issue we have narrowed this down to:
1. when transition is requested from client, the client-side buffer is 1/2 i.e. 4-5seconds. 2. if transition is request on a client with unlimited bandwidth, it takes about 6 seconds for the server to process, find an acceptable switching position and send a "transition.complete" event. 3. on the throttled client however, this event takes much longer.
I have Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 (not Interactive) running on RHEL5.5 x86_64 Linux. All is working well, however how do I prevent unauthorized access to connecting to the live stream and streaming content? How can I setup the server to require a user and password to stream live media to the server?I am new to this product and I have been reading some documentation but I have not found a clear cut answer on how to force a username and password to connect to the server to stream live content only.I am using the Adobe FMS Apache install, what files need changing?[code]I want to lock down a person from connecting to the server on the public internet and starting a live stream? Can this be done with a user name and password?
I build a client side application where is only a FLVPlayback2.5 component and a short AS3 script.

My Encoder is setup with three streams: Vid: 500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 800 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 1500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps I start the encoder and everything looks fine in the log. In my browser (Safari or Firefox) I go to my html site and the stream starts after 6-8 sec. But anytime with the lowest bitrate 548 kbps and nothing look like the stream is switching to another bitrate. I tried it with the smil playlist and the result is the same. Only the lowest bitrate is plublished.
I'm having a problem with recording a live webcam stream. The last few seconds of the stream is getting cut off. The recording is stopped with the following piece of code:
i've created a sub-folder called dvr under fms 4.0 applications. i made a test of playing a video named sample.flv then at the same time i publish it to the same fms 4.0 server with a different video name: "mergedVideo".the asc at the fms server as following:
when i try to live stream with FMS! I can stream video with Flash media live encoder to the server but when i create the player to recieve the livestream from server,i can not recieve the live stream, can anyone give me a step by step tutorial of how to do it?
I'm trying to stream a HDS live multi-bit stream, it seems to push to the FMS but my player doesn't display the stream. Are these settings and files correct? The documenation is confusing on what and which files need to be edited and/or created.
Encoder settings: Bit Rate: 150,500,700 FMS URL: rtmp://myserver/livepkgr Stream: liveevent%i?adbe-live-event?liveevent
FMS 4.5
I see the following directories being created when I start encoding and each directory has a single file with a .stream extension in them. Are these correct? fC:FMS-HOMEapplicationslivepkgrevents\_definst_liveevent1[code].....
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <mx:Application xmlns:mx="[URL]" layout="absolute" creationComplete="init();"> <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.controls.Alert; import mx.core.mx_internal; import flash.media.Camera; [Code] ..... So, I play the record video , but there is no image , just voice
I have 9 videos in a gallery. Each one gets displayed in a custom video component. When you navigate to watch a new one a new NetStream is setup.I have 2 problems. Basically if you don't watch the video right to the end and when you select and watch a new one:1. a "buffering video" movieclip does not display correctly (or at all) indicating that NetStream.Buffer.Empty isn't working properly (maybe its referencing the previous movie ???).2. when the next movie is buffered and starts you hear a little split second glitch of sound (which sounds like its from the previous movie).
both these problems seem to indicate that in some way the previous movie is still lingering around and in some way needs to be 'flushed' away so that on the next movie the code to display the 'buffering video' message works properly and you don't get this legacy remnant of sound for a split second. At the beginning of the code for each movie I have placed:
'URL missing from Media tag' on FMS4.5 HTTP Live Stream playback.I have spent a whole day trying in vain to publish f4m live http streams from FMLE using FMS 4.5, and almost everything I try results in the error .The F4M document contains errors URL missing from Media tag...in both Flash Media Playback and the fms videoPlayer app.Other people seem to have seen this and solved it, but I've found nothing that helps. I have tried to publish a single stream, and with multiple bitrates. For the latter, I followed the Adobe video tutorial as follows:
Multiple bitrate live ================ I'm publishing 3 streams from FMLE, using FMS URL: rtmp://[serveraddress]/livepkgr[code]..........
i am building an live streaming website and i am use
1- FMS 2- Apache webserver
i have made the subcriber and i works well .but i need to build the publisher to allow users to broadcast thier stream from thier cameras.i have tested a publisher which was build using actionscript and it didn't work untill i have installed the fms on my localhost , but i need a publisher which any user can use in his web browser .
"To serve streams over a cellular network, one of the streams must be audio-only. For more information, see HTTP Live Streaming Overview. To publish an audio-only stream, enter the following in the Flash Media Encoder Stream field:livestream%i?adbe-live-event=liveevent&adbe-audio-stream-name=livestream1_audio_only&adbe-audio-stream-src=livestream1If the encoder specifies individual query strings for each stream, use individual stream names instead of the variable %i:livestream1?adbe-live-event=liveevent&adbe-audio-stream-name=livestream1_audio_onlylivestream2?adbe-live-event=liveevent&adbe-audio-stream-name=livestream2_audio_onlyTo generate a set-level variant playlist when using an audio-only stream, specify the audio codec of the audio-nly stream. Specify the audio and the video codec of the streams that contain audio and video. For more information about using the Set-level F4M/M3U8 File Generator, see Publish and play live multi-bitrate streams over HTTP.
Beside Flash Media Encoder, can I use a live stream from Windows Media Services? We have live streaming with Windows Media Server, but now want also offer to mobile devices, but we dont re-encode the entire streams (tvs) again, it would be great if we can use a stream from windows to tunnel it to flash media server.
I've searched quite a few threads:[code]But all of them are talking about playing multiple bit rate live video,my question is how I can publish multiple bit rate live videos in the first place?
One server - is streaming server with Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5that host the application with asc files in FMS application directory.Second server - is the IIS web server that host thehtml, aspx, swf etc.. files. So basically i heve swf file on one server that have to connect to live streaming via rtmp on different server with different ip address.I did not find any clear explanation on this crossdomain rmtp issue.ys only HTTP can use crossdomain.xml policy filebut not rmtp.So what policy security procedure need to be done in order to enableswf file hosted on one server to connect and show rmtp live cam broadcasting from another server?
I need to protect my FMS, so that only me (my Username, or IP if its not possible) can start a live stream. I have been reading the pdf on plugin for developers, and i read that the authorization plugin can do this, but it is C++ and i dont know nothing about that, i can understand a little bit, but i do not know how to make the dll i want. Is there another way to do this, the server requests a user and password when i want to stream.
I've installed Flash Media Server and send stream to it use Flash Media Live Encoder via [URL]. And on my website, I've embed code to play this live stream via [URL]. All ok!
But, any user can install Flash Media Live Encoder and connect to my FMS, publish his/her stream (because url to publish and view is same) My question is: how to prevent end-user publish stream to my FMS, only allow end-user view my live stream?
