Take A Snapshot Of The Homepage Of The Flash Site For Portfolio?
Jun 25, 2009
I have recently created a flash site and I am trying to update my online portfolio. How do I take a snapshot of the homepage of the flash site for my portfolio?
i want to make a new portfolio site in flash... i was thinking on using as much server-side scripting as possible, to make in easier to update and add some features like flash guestbook/mail form and some other stuff... I was wondering... is it possible using php and mysql to add content to the portfolio without modifying the flash itself? Is there a tutorial regarding this? WHat i want, exactly is to be able to add photos, sites, prints and other stuff to my portfolio like i would add a post to this forum... the title being the title, the message being the description of the project and the pic i can attach being the photo itself..
Ok so I have bought books and watched hours of tutorials and its painfully obvious that I am not picking AS3 (or any scripting)up very well.
I am creating a Flash Portfolio site and I am curious about the correct architecture. If I have a central Nav with corresponding animations, should the whole site reside on one stage or a new stage per animation?
If there is a FAQ or tutorial on Kirupa that covers this (I might have missed it)feel free to simply direct me there.
i'm making my own portfolio full dynamic flash site. And animation and interface is ok. But i don't know about connecting to database. And i read about PHP+AS. And i couldn't get a good point.
I've been working on my first full blown flash site for a few weeks, tackling problems as I encounter them, and I've learned a lot...but sometimes the simplest things I cannot figure out for the life of me. All I am trying to do is have some flash banner SWF files play within the portfolio page of my site. I don't want them to open in a pop up or anything just play within the page when the link on my site is clicked. I figured it would act like a movie clip and I could just drop it onto the stage, but when I do that it doesn't look right, loops continuously, and is not interactive. How can I make this work?
I'm working on building a personal portfolio site right now. I wanted to add a scroll feature to one the pages. I wasn't sure how to build it, so I down loaded one off here [URL] and just plugged my own graphics into it. It scrolls up and down just fine, but when I try to put a mask over it, it doesn't work. In the content the author wrote for his movie he says "Note: If you want to have a mask over the content: copy MC:frame and make it a mask for MC:Page. If you do so, notice that "non-anti-alias text" is not possible anymore. This is a common thing in a Flash Movie. I keep trying that and it just blocks everything out all together. So what am I doing wrong?
I am trying to build a portfolio site with a 3D rotating effect.I am new to Papervision so I might be doing something stupid with my code. Anyway, this is my code, but nothing shows up on stage when I load it:
I'm working on creating a gallery for my portfolio site. I have thumbnails of all my work. I've turned them into button and made it so when you rollover it, a larger preview of it appears with a description of the piece, off to the side in a designated area. Instead of making my stage larger or creating more pages to contain all my thumbnails, I made a vertical scrollbar. The scrollbar works just fine. The problem is when the thumbnail is moved, the rollover that would be moves in relation to it.how can I absolutely make sure that any rollover I create with a button is where I want it to be, no matter where the thumbnail moves to?
I'm creating my first website. I've managed to create a homepage. On the homepage is a enter site button, which once it is pressed starts thetimeline... I have an actions/labels layer which I am writing my code in. On frame number 'one' is my code below.
stop (); enter_site_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClicked) function buttonClicked (event:MouseEvent): void
been looking around for a while for this, searched for it here at as.org, scanning every article and archive I could find from the last 10 years. It just seems like how to do it right is not currently out there. Assuming coding has improved, and all of us are much smarter and more experienced than we were last decade, I bring it up once more.
I am in search of a "simple" way to implement the generation of a JPG from a Flash SWF housed within an HTML page. DETAILS: Once a visitor has assembled draggable objects within the SWF, and to their liking, I would like for them to have the ability to click a button that would render a JPG version of their layout. Hope this makes sense. I have found source codes online, in conjunction with PHP scripting, but am struggling to make this work.
I'm sorry if this is the oldest flash question in the book, but I created an intro in AS3 and I don't know how to get the movie to automatically go to home page after it plays through. I added a skip button and have that part working, but I don't get the other part.
i downloaded a free of use gallery from (this gallery) and i'm trying to load it in my flash site .. now, the gallery works if i open it directly (i open the swf file)when i try to load the external swf file into my siteloadMovie("image_gallery.swf", box);then the movie loads .. the gallery is displayed the message "loading xml file" displays and then when the xml is loaded the message "loading image 1/7" displays and only the first image loads.
once the first image is loaded it will not be displayed (it remains outside of my swf file .. i can see it when i resize the window) and no other images will be loaded.if i open the gallery.sfw file again everything works fine .. the problem is only if i try to load the gallery.swf in another swf ..something must be wrong ..i tryed to opern the gallery.fla file and copt everything directly in my site and the problem remains the same .. only 1 image loaded and not displayed in the gallery
We are revising our company website and I wondered if it considered bad practise to use flash on the home page. This would cause issues for those users who dont have flash installed (and maybe dont want flash)
recently i needed to share data between different flash .swfs on a homepage.. so i tried to use Shared Objects to do so..
sofar its fine.. i tried it .. and as long as the data is stored on my harddisk.. the sharedObject "cookies" work fine.. but when i put the site online.. they simply dont work anymore..
could this have something to do with security settings of the browser used?. doesnt a web browser allow flash to access the harddisk to read and write shared objects..
is there another.. simpler and more reliable way to send data from one .swf file to another..?? (without using php -> my webserver doesnt support this sofar )
i'm creating a visual editor in flex and need to let users export thier projects into Image format. But i have one problem: size of the canvas is fixed and when user add element which is out of these sizes some scroll bars added. And user continue working on the project. but when he want to take snapshot of the canvas he just get the visible part ot the canvas with scrollbars. how to get image of the fullsize canvas?
The only solution i found is to check the positions and sizes of canvas child objects and rezise it to fit them. then take snap and resize back. But it hmmmm... too complicated i think. Is there some "easy methods"?
I'm attempting to take an image from a networked camera and store it as a bitmap. I discovered that flash didn't support MJPEG so I found a class someone had written that could talk to the camera and output on the screen. Then I edited it so that I could request the current image at any time and store it in a ByteArray.I've managed to load that ByteArray with a loader class and place it on the stage, but I'm not sure how to save that as a Bitmap?
have only a little question .. :I'm actualy working on Adobe Flash CS5 but i don't really know how it works. Then i donwloaded a flash website on internet and i can modify the main part of it but i have a problem when i'm trying to add a Cbox in my homepage. It's a basic Cbox from Cbox.ws so it's totaly in HTML. I don't know how include it in a part of my pageIt means that i would like display my Cbox on my flash homepage from HTML code
Is there any approach to take the snapshot of a drawing created in pure AS2 flash coding ? I tried to use Bitmapdata and bridge but bitmap works in as3 and bridge combines two swf together and communicate with them. Is there a way of doing screenshot in as2 ?
I've set up Red5 on one of my servers. I've created a "caster" flash app and a "viewer" flash app. Basically this is a "one-to-many" webcam streaming application.Everything is working fine. Users can fire up their webcam and connect to the server and broadcast. Viewers can connect to the streams with the "viewer" app just fine. What I'm trying to implement now, are snapshot and record buttons on the viewer side. Right now I am just focusing on snapshots.I've found lots of examples/tutorials on how to take a snapshot using your own webcam. However, when I try to implement these on the "viewer" side, it doesn't work. When I try to search for code examples on how to capture streaming data, everything that comes up is software for sale.[code]If I use this code in the "caster" app, it works just fine. But on the viewer side it fails. Through trial and error I've determined that the line that is failing is:[code]
I am trying to take a snapshot of an entire movieclip. Here is the function I am using:
[Code]...
When I pass it through the function I only get the bottom-right portion of the image. It has a centered registration point. I've tried all registration points too and the top-left (0,0) works but my project is already based around objects having a low-mid registration point: Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I just want a snapshot of the full movieclip instead of the bottom-right portion regardless of the registration point. edit: No, I'm not here to sell watermelons
I have this flash player we use to create some graphs and charts of our business performance. We use flash because we like those neat-o graphics and overall User experience. The thing is that now I need to generate snapshots (i.e. images) of those charts every Monday so I can save them to disk. Our flash player takes arguments at startup (or runtime) that specify the data we want to load and the date range, and we have LOTS of charts around.
I would like to know if there is any way to create these images in a batch, window-less process in linux. My goal would be to have a script that runs at 2am, automatically loads all the graphs say for the latest week, and creating PNG images for each. All this in one of our window-less (but with X11 libraries) linux boxes.
I have made a flash webcam application to allow the user to take a photo of themselves using a webcam. I have successfully saved the photo in my localhost. However, I would like to set the names of those photos. Currently, the photos names are generated by
$uniqueStamp = date('U');
I also have a textfield in my flash app that allows inputs from user for the photo name. For example if the user write 'MYPHOTONAME' in the textfield, the photo which will be saved in my localhost will be named 'MYPHOTONAME' too. How do I do it in Flash and in PHP? Currently I'm having some problems because I cannot send the textfield string to PHP.
Here is my flash code to send the snapshot to PHP and let the PHP save it in my localhost:
I am getting really frustrated with this. I have tried a lot of things to get this to work but I CANNOT seem to get the tx and ty values to work properly with every frame. It works great for some frames, then all of the sudden it will cut off a portion of the front of another frame.
Is there any way to ensure that it will never happen again to any frame for any object? Like making the bitmap data larger than the actual sprite or something to create a little bit of padding for insurance?
Looking at how I handled the height, I still have no idea WHY I needed the +3 (because it was truncating 3pixels every time) but it works. But now I am trying to get the width to work properly and I CANNOT find anything that helps. If you can help, PLEASE DO!
i have a photo snapping app built in flash. I notice that any movement results in a lot of motion blur.. which makes the photos kind of turd. Is there a way to digital reduce the blur? potential camera setting in actionscript??
I have camera input app in flash (AS3) and I draw some graphics over it. I want to take the image snapshot of the stage visible area but only the video an graphics I draw over video. I want to exclude controls from the image snapshot. My display object layout is in following relation:
Stage size is fixed and I want to take a image snapshot of everything that is child of my canvas element (camera input video and overlayed graphics, but excluding controls). I am able to make this image snapshot when overlayed graphics are inside the bounds of stage size. I do it like this:
var bmpd:BitmapData = new BitmapData(canvas.width, canvas.height); bmpd.draw(canvas, new Matrix(1, 0, 0, 1, canvas.x, canvas.y));
But this gives me unwanted result when graphics which I draw on top of video on canvas exceed the bounds of stage display area. How do I limit the image snapshot only in the bounds of visible area inside stage?
