Jul 7, 2003I am trying to mimic a powerPoint presentation with Flash MX. I have 19 different slides and have created 19 small flash files, one for each slide. I am using alpha transperency to fade text and images in and out. I have also used the load feature to have another movie file load and play when the last one is finished.It works fine locally on my machine but when I upload it to the server to be viewed by all I get pauses in between movie files.

I understand that I somehow need to make use of fscommand in ActionScript, but I'm not sure how I can get Flash and PowerPoint to communicate between themselves.
I'm using Flash MX 2004 7.0 and Powerpoint 2003.

Jul 28, 2011If you have used Udemy (I have used Zenation earlier, which is not as good as the app developed by Udemy.) to create a mash-up of a .ppt file with a video, you would know how wonderful it is. I would like to get an overview how they have built this application.My guess is that first the application converts the .ppt slides into JPEG images which are then imported to flash so that the user can easily time-stamp the images while the video plays. Pretty much like sub-titles work. But, I am not sure about my guess.

Jan 21, 2010For a school project we have to make a presentation about our RME topic, and we can to it in any format we want. I want to do it in Flash so as to add interactivity. Problem is, I am not certain on parts of it.
How do you add buttons, so as to change the background? For example, it shows title screen. Then you click.Then it shows first slide like. Then you can click like, Introduction, The Pillars of Islam, ect.
Media Server :: FMIS3 And Authenticate Users Against An LDAP Directory
Mar 24, 2008I'm pretty new to Flash VOD, exploring using a FMIS as a substitute for an existing vbrick systems' server. One thing that I'll need to do is authenticate users against an LDAP directory. Basically, the implementation will need to embed a Flash media player in a web page, the page also sets the server URI and stream name for the player. The player would need to ask the user for a username/password, and the server would need to make some determination about whether the user is authorized to receive the specified stream.
The advertising on Adobe's site for FMIS talks about LDAP, but on closer inspection it seems as though there's no real LDAP implementation. Instead, it seems as though there's a framework that allows for the development of an LDAP service. Is this the correct understanding? and if so, are there are any third-party plugins available commercially to handle LDAP? And if there aren't any commercial products, are there are any good resources for getting started developing one?

Yes, I know there is a built in PowerPoint function I flash. But I want it to be some more dynamic and most of all. I want it to run without pressing the �Spacebar� between all the MovieClips.
I dont know if this is a good way, but my idea is to make a movie clip of each thing.I want to present. I.e.I make a MovieClip with a logotypes fading in and out. And one MovieClip with another logotype fading in and out.Then I just want to add these external swf files in the main timeline and when the first external MovieClip has finished next ones starts. And when all the swf files have been played. It starts all over again.

Jan 29, 2012i've been trying to make a presentation which is build out of several animations located on the main timeline.I wanted to use frame labels to navigate back and forth in the timeline, so I created back/next buttons and used switch/case code on them based on the frame labels.each animation has a label and a stop(); command at the end of it, right before the next animation.the code for the next button looks like this:

Sep 26, 2010I did make a eraser tool. But once I begin to erase a layer, the background layer is visible. I want the layer just below the topmost layer to be visible.
For eg consider 2 layers. Layer2 is above Layer1. When I perform erase on Layer2, I see the stage background. I want to actually see Layer1 when I erase from Layer2.

So MVVM as LOGICAL CONCEPT can be implemented in both but the way it is implemented in Silverlight requires more Plumbing than Flex.
What prevents Silverlight MVVM to be implemented like Flex ? Doesn't Silverlight have same capability in event system to do the same? If yes why does Silverlight do things more complicated what's the advantages then ? Is it about using Class Interfaces which are more strongly typed? What are the disadvantages also ? For example as for implementing MULTIPLE VIEWS for 1 View-Model does Flex implementation make it also more obvious?

Mar 28, 2003I'd like to create a button in FlashMX which, when pressed will open a PowerPoint file. I came across a tutorial on how to use the FSCOMMAND "exec" to trigger a batch file which then triggers the PowerPoint file. This however did not work... If I double click on the batch file, the PP file will open as required so it seems to be the command in Flash that's causing a problem.
