ActionScript 3.0 :: Make A Presentation Which Is Build Out Of Several Animations Located On The Main Timeline?

i've been trying to make a presentation which is build out of several animations located on the main timeline.I wanted to use frame labels to navigate back and forth in the timeline, so I created back/next buttons and used switch/case code on them based on the frame labels.each animation has a label and a stop(); command at the end of it, right before the next animation.the code for the next button looks like this:

problem is at some point it stops working. i've added the "default: play();" code to try and fix it but it only goes so far.
I'm having problem with communication between an MC running on frame 1 and a dynamic textfield located on the main timeline on frame2. The MC running on frame1 is a user and password login. I want to grab the username (variable) from the inputfield within the MC for use on frame2 ( dynamic text ) on the main timeline.

I wondered if it was possible after loading an external .swf ("1_movie.swf") within the container, if you could then press a button (enter_button) located within the external .swf ("1_movie.swf") , and use the preloader code to load another external .swf on release ("tree20.swf"). I'm having trouble because the preloader code is in the main timeline of my main flash file ("index.fla"), and I don't know how to make the preloader code recognize the button located within the external .swf, and use it to load another external .swf within the same movie clip.

When I push F11 in Flash Builder, it does a full build and runs in the context of my main ActionScript file. When I do the same in FDT, it builds the last selected file in the Flash Explorer pane and runs in the context of that. While I can see how it could be useful, I'd much rather always run in the context of my entire application. How can I make FDT always build and run my main file?
Possibly relevant: I imported the project from Flash Builder into FDT.
On all these web 2.0 websites i see those nice presentation videos/animations like here: i search a similar skin addsocials click on "how it works". it would take maybe 1 or 2 days for me to make such a simple but clean animation video. Are there websites where we can buy or download such skins for fast customization? the only website i know is activeden but i can't find any animation skins to buy. isn't there a market for such things?
I am looking to create a 2-3 minute presentation which will contain several distinct animations that need to be in sync with a voiceover. The presentation will run from start to finish without any user interaction. I can see a few different ways forward -- trying to do everything on the main timeline, using scenes, creating movies clips and controlling their starting and stopping on the main timeline through ActionScript, etc.
I am dead meat, I have until monday to have a working rough draft. I have everything at 90%. My brain wont work, I am locked and cant think og the best way to bring in a Chat box to my project. I want to put it as a hover page in the presentation area of the APP.

If anyone can push me in the right direction or is willing to look at what I have and offer some advise, I would be greatly in your debt!. I am new to the community and to web designing and I want to learn how to build a flash website. I am looking for the basic and/or easier way to build a flash website with the links and animations to it.
I am trying to build a presentation by calling external .swfs inside the .fla document.
By clicking a button I want to load an .swf (800 x 600) from the desktop into a target_mc inside a new flash document.
The problem is that once I press the button to load the .swf, instead of loading it into the target_mc, Internet Explorer pos up with a statement saying " To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options..." Once I click the options link, a new link appears "Allow Blocked Content". once I press it the .swf file loads into the Internet Explorer window full screen.
I want the .swf to load into the mc I am specifying INSIDE the flash document, not on the browser.
I'm trying to acess myLoader located on a timeline above the navBar mc where my function is located and for some reason I am not able to acces the loader. The trace show that th button hears the addEventListener and the evt.target.name is working properly. I get the following compile error:1119: Access of possibly undefined property myLoader through a reference with static type flash.display:DisplayObjectContainer.
How can I load/unload a movie located on the main scene, from a movie clip, or vice versa. Right now I can only load/unload a movie if located in the same timeline.
how to make a button go to a specific frame on the main timeline my button called a play_btn and i want it to go to a specific frame on the main timeline ???
I'm using AS3 on timeline. I can't make a movie clip on main timeline visible.
On timeline I have a frame label (parte7) where I have three movie clip buttons (level_1, level_2, level_3). Only level_1 is visible.
On parte8 I have a movie clip (play_1), which inside has a button (newLevel). When user completes play_1, button newLevel takes the user back to parte7 to continue with level_2, which should be visible and level_1 should be invisible.
PROBLEM When button newLevel is clicked it goes back to part7, but level_2 button isn't visible.

I am working on AS3 and I have a created a button class which have an off state and on state. I did the class and it works fine, but i need a little fine tuning. Right now I am polling the button state from the root(main timeline) by checking a boolean property in the button class. I feel it is quite inefficient to check the button state on every enterFrame event of the main timeline. Rather I would prefer the button to tell the root time line by invoking a function written in the root, whenever a state change occurs. t should be cleaner , right?? But when I try to access a function in the root which goes like this
I have some submenu buttons in a movieclip on the mainline. My first level of navigation in on main timeline. The submenus are grouped in movieclips on the main timeline. I basically used the same code on the main navigation for the sub navigation except the code for the submenus is in that movie clip. My trace statement reads the button is clicked (which was a quantum leap for me) but I know I need some kind of _parent code in there so it knows to go to label back on main timeline.[code]...
I have a movieclip (a), inside another movieclip (b), on the main timeline. I want to click on movieclip (a) and make it go to and play a keyframe on the main timeline. I'm used to using buttons for actions, not movie clips, and I forget how to use the _root thingy.

i have named the symbol blog and have name the frame of where the blog page is going to be "blogframe" this line of code at the bottom is where i run into trouble the output window in Flash is saying "The blog button was clicked" just like i want it to. no errors are accouring why than is the playhead not going to frame "blogframe"? if the button is working when i click it the code is right i belive the problem here is it does not want the playhead to go to the frame i want it to. So i gues my question is, how can i make a button withing a movie clip interact with the main timeline?
I don't know if this is the right term "overriding timeline functions"... I'am making presentation wich has 8 navigation buttons..the presentation goes like this...when you press one button it goes to this buttons segment and play's it, when is finished it comes back to navigation by action gotoAndPlay ("menu")...myproblem is the last button...wich says Whole presentation...i cannot duplicate the presentation because it has too much keyframes and max is 16000 (i am not master atFlash )...so i would like somehow to cancel all the gotoAndPlay actions if it is possible?? so when i click the last button (whole presentation)...the playback doesen't jump back to menu...but plays til the end.
how to add a pause using Flash Slide presentation?
If you add a 'Stop' anywhere on in the action script when using the arrow to go back and forward through slides it goes to the stops rather than the beginning of each slide.
I'm not sure that I'm on the right track here. I've got what is essentially a 'gateway' movieclip and depending on the CLICK a corresponding movieclip (form) is loaded -- these all being in their own AS file. There are multiple corresponding pages that will all load/close in their own fashion but the 'gateway' will reload in it's own function-- consequently, I have this function on the main_AS. Can I trigger this function from the sub class or do I need to move the 'reload' function to a 'reload' class.
I have a MovieClip with several labeled animations on it's timeline. When I made the MovieClip I leaved extra frames between each labeled animation, to see things better and to better read the labels. Everything worked just fine, but then I needed to dispatch an event when each labeled section of the animation was done, so I trimmed out the extra frames (which were completely empty... no code, no drawings, nothing) and placed a dispatchEvent(); and a stop(); function on the last frame of each labeled section of the animation...
And this is when my problem occurred: the animation stops at a specific frame within each animation each time I play it. There is no code on that frame, the symbol doesn't run out of frames, or whatnot. I have cancelled all the code that I could to simplify things, and it still doesn't work. I tried adding back the extra frames, cutting out the action frames(so sort of undoing manually to the point that it last worked), but it still stops in the middle of each animation... If I could roll back to before this happened I would try not cutting out the extra frames and just placing the action frame where the animation ends, but I can't...
I have made a nested animation within a movie clip, but it doesn't show up frame-by-frame in the timeline is there a way to make it appear in the timeline?
I need to take a photo of my screen with each image on it for a stop motion animation project for school I tried exporting a series of still images as a workaround, but for some reason the data from the nested animation also fails to show up in any kind of movie export.
On a flash time line we've got this movie, it plays and then on the last frame there is action script to stop it. (prevent loopage) However, after the movie stops there are a couple of movie clips that loop forever, one of which is a spinning navigation. The navigation spins and spins for eternity, until you mouse over it. When you mouse over it it stops spinning. Theoretically you can then click on the button, which will lead to the page, that you want to go to.Now, making the buttons lead to the page, that's not a problem. The problem is, that before I want it to jump to another page, I want there to be a....how do we see...entrance animation to play.So like, if you click on blue page, a blue square will fade in on top of the button you just pressed, it will grow larger and cover the page, then bam, new page loads (new page would be designed in blue, thus you get the idea?). I know how to use a button to load movie, to make a complete flash site, but I'm not doing that, I want the pages it jumps to to be in html. But I know about doing that too.
What I don't know how to do is, make the entrance animation show up where the button currently is. Because the navigation is spinning and because it pauses on mouse over, the buttons are never in the same place. I know the loadmovie command can load a movie on top of this one, but it generally just throws it up there, or you can specify a point, but how can you specify that it load starting where the button is?
