Flash :: Slide Presentation - Auto-starting Flv Video
May 3, 2009I'm trying out Flash CS4, and am using it to create a slide presentation. as I feel stuck at the moment. Here's what I need: An intro slide to act as a "front cover", giving the user of the presentation a chance to load it up before initiating the following content. The next slide to contain a video, which starts playing as soon as the slide is loaded. Also on this slide, a few pieces of text need to appear at certain times as defined by me.
Here's what I have so far: A blank 'slide1', ready for my content. Presenter presses the right arrow and it proceeds onto slide 2. A 'slide2', which has my flv video clip placed on it with optional play controls. So I need to know how to start the flv player automatically when slide 2 is opened. I think I need to place some ActionScript on frame 1 of slide2, but I don't know what. If I set the video to 'autoPlay' in the component inspector, it starts as soon as the swf presentation is opened, which is not what I want - it should only auto play when it's own slide is navigated to.

Yes, I know there is a built in PowerPoint function I flash. But I want it to be some more dynamic and most of all. I want it to run without pressing the �Spacebar� between all the MovieClips.
I dont know if this is a good way, but my idea is to make a movie clip of each thing.I want to present. I.e.I make a MovieClip with a logotypes fading in and out. And one MovieClip with another logotype fading in and out.Then I just want to add these external swf files in the main timeline and when the first external MovieClip has finished next ones starts. And when all the swf files have been played. It starts all over again.

So MVVM as LOGICAL CONCEPT can be implemented in both but the way it is implemented in Silverlight requires more Plumbing than Flex.
What prevents Silverlight MVVM to be implemented like Flex ? Doesn't Silverlight have same capability in event system to do the same? If yes why does Silverlight do things more complicated what's the advantages then ? Is it about using Class Interfaces which are more strongly typed? What are the disadvantages also ? For example as for implementing MULTIPLE VIEWS for 1 View-Model does Flex implementation make it also more obvious?

May 15, 2009i need to make a little multimedia/presentation where depending on the options you take (normal buttons) a Mc plays and in the end you a get list of itmes depending on the choices you took. Jan 29, 2012i've been trying to make a presentation which is build out of several animations located on the main timeline.I wanted to use frame labels to navigate back and forth in the timeline, so I created back/next buttons and used switch/case code on them based on the frame labels.each animation has a label and a stop(); command at the end of it, right before the next animation.the code for the next button looks like this:

Withing the movie clip, I have it masked to fit into a custom shape on-screen, and I am publishing this as a Macintosh projector app.When I view the projector in its native size (1024x768), the masking works fine. But when I switch to full-screen mode, the masking disappears, and all I see is the video. It also kind of screws up the navigation from this mc to the next, i.e., the cuepoint stops working.

Jul 2, 2009I'm trying to create a Macintosh full screen projector. Easy, I know.WHY the hell doesn't it go full screen... I keep getting the title bar at the top of the projector.
Windows projector works perfectly.Some software called Zinc will provide me with the solution to this problem but it's expensive and the free version adds a watermark to the file, which is not good.

Feb 1, 2012I'm using a .swf to connect to a socket and stream data as fast as possible for 60 seconds to measure connectivity speed.In other words a speed test.In the past say month or two, I've found Macintosh systems 10.5 and higher experience a significant slow down, In testing I see my socket connect and reach about 2.5Mbps - 3.5Mbps and literally stick as though the .swf was throttling the connection.
This 'problem' is random and appears to come and go. I've tested this in Chrome,Firefox and Safari with all the same results.Using the exact same test on any Windows or Linux OS works totally fine.Admittedly I'm an ActionScript novice however the code I'm using is below and has worked for some time up until recently.
