Things go weird when i tried position a button in titleContent of ActionBar. Set both the "left" and "horizontalCenter" can't move my button.Code as below:
i've got a few fonts embedded and am using them in my mobile application, and they are all working, except for the ones i try to use for the "ActionBar". They work everywhere else, and substituting "Comic Sans MS" for "titleCGF" changes it to Comic Sans. So why won't it work with my custom fontFamily?
I am working with Flash Builder 4.5 using Adobe Air, Flex and Actionscript 3, to develop a mobile application that works with multiple views. I want to change the height of my actionbar on all my views. I know that I can dynamically change it in actionscript 3 using:
navigator.actionBar.height = newHeight;
However, I would prefer to have the height in my style (.css) file, or if that's not possible, in the mxml code in every view, so that the actual height is reflected in the design-view. How can I accomplish this?
Why TabbedViewNavigatorApplication dot have popView() (as in ViewNavigatorApplication I can use popView to go previous view)? How can I do that in TabbedViewNavigatorApplication?

I am going to make an Arabic application using Flex builder 4.5. I have two questions that need to be answered What is the difference between ActionScript Mobile Project and Flex Mobile Project. (AS Mobile Project supports iOS and Android but I doubt about it!!) Is Arabic support available in Flex Mobile Projects or AS Mobile Projects? I know TLF supports Desktop and web apps but does it support mobile platforms?
I am using the following .as file as the component for an itemrenderer in a list. Basically each item is rendered in a TextInput and each TextInput has a remove button as you can see from the code. When clicking the remove button, I want to remove the selectedItem..so I am putting the function removeItem() in MainMxml.xml and calling it from the .as file.
However I am getting an error "Cannot access a method or property of a null object reference".
I've looked at a few demos from adobe that show apps built with Flex 4.5 running on iOS from simple list views to video capture. This has made me wonder if its an effective solution to build cross platform mobile apps.
For those of you who have taken Flex 4.5 mobile for a spin, what is your impression on the capability and performance on iOS. Is there anything you can't do with Flex 4.5 mobile that you couldn't with a native app? Are there any limitations?
I'm a longtime CF developer that is trying to get into to Flex mobile development with Flash Builder but I've become frustrated in trying to output results from a simple database query.
I'm looking to do something along the lines of this...
I have a mobile app that gets a rss feed. The date on the rss feed displays Fri, 28 Oct 2011 17:30:00 GMT and I would like that to render as a short date in cst time standard dd/mm/yyyy and time. The code for my app is below. any help would be great This is the first time working with Adobe Flash Builder.
I am running Flex mobile project and I would like my mobile app to be able to load and display pdf files that are saved locally. I do not want to go out to the web to access these pdf files.
I cant figure out how to make this code work for a locally saved file.
I am trying to figure out how to send an email from a Flash Mobile (smartphones: blackberries, iphones, androids) app using mxml and Flash using Flash Builder 4.6. My boss told me to find out if it is possible. So far, I have been doing a lot of searching around on the internet for an answer.
I found this website: [URL], that has some classes for sending email in flash, but #1, I don't know if they work in Mobile apps, and #2, I can't find any instructions or tutorials on how to use the classes to send a simple email.
I downloaded the package from the site and imported into my project, where I am trying to send the code. But without sample code on how to simply send an email, I am not entirely sure what all do, and nor am I sure how to determine things like what port number to construct the SMTPMailer object (the SMTPMailer object is included in that package, and it takes a host string and a port number integer in it's constructor), right now I am trying 80 or 8080 for the port number, and I've tried localhost and one of our server computers, 198.162.1.109 for the host.
Anyway, I keep getting this error: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2031: Socket Error.
Here is some of my sample code:
[Bindable] private var mailer : SMTPMailer; private function init() : void {
Neither of these methods worked, and to be safe i used the same code to embed an image on the screen and it works!. I just can't seem to get the icons to appear in the tabs also note - I was doing all of this in my main mxml file, just incase you're familiar with the Flex Burrito "Mobile application" file structure. And another thing is that I don't get any errors when trying these methods. It lets me compile and test it.
I got some Images in my scroller component. while scrolling the scroller sometimes hang for a second... i think the image is loading. is it possible to load the image before the scroller is on the position?!.
I'm trying to use a SharedObject in a Flex 4.5 mobile project. The SDK I'm using is 4.5.1, and the AIR version is 2.6.0. I'm trying to locally store user credentials for my application using this piece of code:
I am building an Android application using Flex Hero. When I run the application I can package it fine on my mobile and run it on the device, however, as soon as I want to run in debug mode on the device, the device gives me a message like: "Can't connect to debugger (192.168.1.12). Enter IP-address or hostname". The device is connected with a USB to the PC and USB debugging is enabled on the device. I have tried to shut down the computer's firewall, but no result.
