I'm working on a site for a customer: [URL].. The problem is that when you click on "About," then "Gear," then scroll down, and then click on another link (like "Photos") the pane does not go back to the top. I know that this is very trivial, but the customer is insisting that I fix it. I can privately send a link to the .fla source file to anyone who replies here.

This is a repost, but I've still not figured out a solution. I have a Flash movie that appears on a webpage. The Flash contains scrolling content ( scrollpane, text field, whatever).
The containing webpage is tall, and therefore also has scrollbars. My Problem: When users try to use the MouseWheel to scroll through my Flash scrolling data, the browser page scrolls as well. It's very annoying.
I would like to be able to have the MouseWheel scroll my Flash scrolling content when it's over the flash, but scroll the webpage when it's not over the Flash.
Does anybody know a way to supress wheel-based browser page-scrolling while my mouse is over a Flash movie??? Is there a way to eat/stop propagation, whatever, of the wheel event in the brwoser, either from Flash or from Javascript?
I have a Flash website and would like to add content that resides within a scrolling pane and I'm unsure of the best way to proceed.Content is single Excel doc comprised of several tables listing machine equipment parts in a table format.There are no active/formula cells.These are simply multi-column / multi-row tables with simple data already entered.I want to display these tables within the confines of an existing Flash website and need some help, firstly, with identifying the simplest way to proceed.
View 1 RepliesI know how to create a scrolling pane that pulls in text. I test my methods by creating a text box with text, the convert to movie and make sure the Export to Actionscript is check and then on the Scrollingpane just make sure the target has the correct movie name. If I do this in a blank document everything works but in my Flash project it does not pull the text from the text box and I have no idea why. Has anyone experience this before. I just cannot find out why it works in a blank document and not in my flash project. I tried attaching my flash document but it does not fit.

View 1 RepliesI currently have two movie clips (test & test2) that upon button release (button & button2) I am loading into a scrollpane (scrollPane). (For testing purposes I load each clip several times, but in the final product I will have up to 10 different movie clips & buttons the user can load into the scrollPane.) On each of the movie clips I have a delete button (btnDelete). I also have an additional delete button on the main page called btnRemove. When the two movies are loaded into the scroll pane I can click the btnRemove button and the last clip I loaded will be deleted, then if I click it again the one above it will be deleted, etc. - so it works that way. However, I would like the user to be able to click on the delete button (btnDelete) that goes with the specific movie clip they would like to delete-not just the last one that was loaded. I have this action on the btnDelete within the test movieclip:

I have a Competition page on my flash project. Within the page is a ScrollPane, the ScrollPane has a MovieClip which is the stuff inside the ScrollPane. Then within my MovieClip I have a FLV video embedded using the FLVPlayback Component. I want to be able to select that FLV to make it stop when I use the navigation bar to go to another page otherwise it keeps playing in the background. its obvious I need to use stop(); but I don't know how to select the child MovieClip.

View 1 Repliesscroll pane loads scroll bars for the movie clip as soon as it loads the movie clip, so there is no scroll bars the movies height and width are one, but after its loaded it changes its size to bigger than the scroll pane, but the scroll bars dont show up because of the size of the movie clip when it was first loaded, can anyone help?

View 2 RepliesI have been looking for an app or something to make a scrollable window for a site I am working on and realised Flash CS4 has a Scroll Pane, Watched one to two tutorials and for some reason they are all CS3 but I think I can work round that but have one question. I am making the background transparent as all I want to display is scrollable text but can I colour the scroll bar itself? I don't want it the gray and white, I would like it coloured or better still semi transparent, glass effect looking.
View 5 RepliesI have developed a rolling credits style movieclip in Flash using Actionscript 2. Text is loaded from an XML file and parsed into a dynamic textfield. This text includes hyperlinks to webpages defined by a url node in the xml so Flash can add the appropriate a href to the dynamic text field and make the link clickable.
In my first attempts to do this the textfield stayed still and all the links worked fine both testing locally and when I run it in a browser on my website.Then I wanted to make things move ... which I achieved easily enough and tested locally (from within Flash Professional) and the links remained clickable, a browser window opened and the webpage i was expecting to see opened... great
However, when I export the swf, upload it and run it from my website suddenly the links are not working. So I tried to test the movie in a browser from Flash Pro - same problem, it must be something to do with Flash Player and the moving dynamic textfield.
a couple of observations - the cursor will change to a hand icon when over the links as you would expect, and if I right click on the link and click open in a new window the link works ok, just not when I left click. If I stop the scrolling then the links become clickable again, it is only when the textfield is moving... actually its not technically scrolling, im moving the whole textfield.
I tried to create the movieclip with scrollpane, and everything is fine, I would like to change/amend the scoll bar layout, I tried the edit each movieclip inside the ScrollBar Skins folder, but it cannont get the result what I want.

I have a for loop that pulls data from my database, populates a topMovie(contentMain) with 20 subMovies inside it. My scrollbar is attached to topMovie. Once the data is loaded and the topMovie is populated, the scrollFace(not ScrollTrack) dissapears and the dynamic movie is not scrollable.As a test, I populated the topMovie with graphic boxes and no dynamic movies and it scrolls just fine.

I am using a ScrollPane that I want users to be able to scroll by clicking andywhere inside it. I have set up the pane like this:

I go on to show a few different SWFs on the source movieclip. These SWFs are spaced vertically by about 80 pixels each inside the clip. The scroll dragging is working fine when you click on one of these SWFs, however, it does not scroll if you hit the vertical space in between items. Is there a way to allow the scroll drag to work no matter where inside the scrollpane (or movieclip) the user clicks? I would rather not have to fill the empty vertical spaces with some blank SWF, or make the others have a greater height.
When page is loaded I can scroll it with mouse, But when I load first external movie clip the mouse scrolling function disappears. Is there anything I can do? I have search in flash mx 2004, and tryed to use // Mouse.onMouseWheel but nothing

I am trying to find a stand alone flash player/controller to play flash movies on my own computer (windows xp) ideally it would have the usual back stop forward controllers etc and I would if possible be able to change the veiw pane background colour.

I know that there are a number of threads on similar issues, but these are all confusing me quite a bit so I thought I should start a new thread to get an answer I'll hopefully understand.I have made my sight with specific diameters. I've got a heading I want to retain on all pages, but the content will change. I guess this would have to be in a movieClip as some pages the content will fit my stage, other pages will have content that is larger than the stage.I'd like to be able to scroll down through these pages which contain both text and images. I'm not sure how I would be able to set this up.
View 5 RepliesI created a movie clip that has an image on every frame. I'd like to create a scroll bar for simple and easy veiwing of the images. But I don't want a typical scroll like a UIscroll component, because I don't want the images to flow together. I just want to jump from image to image.
Does anyone have some code or ideas for this?

So I've got a website set up where there are several pages and photos mixed in and I've placed them all inside a movie clip called "content_mc". I've created a scroll bar graphic that I've placed on the bottom of the stage and turned the left arrow and right arrow into buttons called "left" and "right". Using the following code from autorial, I have the movie clip sliding to the right when you click the right arrow and left when you click the left arrow. I created a label at frame 1 called "left" and placed the following code there:

that basically moves a movieclip left to create like a scrolling horizontal effect. BUT you have to constantly click the arrow button so I was wonder if there was a way to program it so that is I hold the mousedown on that button it keeps scrolling?
I am trying to modify the Tutorial on this site that contains the scrolling thumbnail XML gallery. I would like to contain the slideshow within a movie clip. While everything works fine when the gallery is created on the main timeline, the thumbnails fail to scroll when placed into a movie symbol.
