View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a scrolling timeline using a very (horizontally) long image and a scroll thumb that can be dragged right and left. When I first open the .swf file, the position of the image is correct (the far left side is on the stage). But once I click on the thumb and release it, even if I don't drag it, the image jumps as if it was dragged and suddenly I'm looking at another part of the timeline. When I drag the thumb all the way to the left, it can't go any farther left to the beginning and it's just stuck at where it jumped, but I can drag the thumb more to the right and see more of the timeline perfectly fine. Also, when I scroll all the way to the right, the timeline goes past its end and then there's blank white space. There's obviously some space missing at the beginning that should make up for that blank space at the end.
why it jumps like that and why I can't drag it back to the beginning of the timeline. In fact, I used this exact same code for another project and the timeline worked perfectly fine. All I did was use a different image for this one. I'm completely stumped on this.

I'm designing a page that is kind of like a photo album. You click on the next button to view the next image. The current image moves off to the left and the new one moves in from the right. Thats simple as its just sequential. But if i wanted to go back to the previous image in the same way with that one moving back to the right and the previous one moving back in from the left you obviously can't make the timeline go backwards can you?

Lets say that I have a circleMC on frame 1 thats positioned on the left side of the screen and the end frame of the animation is frame 10 with the circleMC on the right side of the screen. tweened/animated to go from frame 1 to frame 10 .instead of a play button that plays that simple animation. i want to make a simple scroller that allows the user to scroll it through so that he/she can see the animation as fast/slow as they want it....meaning that when the scroll is activated, essentially the timeline will be going back n forth between the ten frames.

I have a file comprised of 1 scene and two movie clips. The clips are instanced into the Main Timeline and occupy Frames 1 and 2 respectively.MovieClip1 is an animation that has navigation buttons that appear at the end of the clip. I'm trying to get mouse click navigation to make Frame 2 on the Main Timeline active.
Here is what I'm trying but it is not working:

this takes the animation to Frame 2 of the Movie Clip Timeline not Frame 2 the Main Timeline.
Is it possible to target a loaded movie within the main timeline and stop sounds in that particular movie only?
View 4 RepliesI have my flash document set up in the following way: On the main timeline I have my buttons that I want to play movie clips embedded inside a movie clip on the main timeline.However, when I click each different button, the current movie clip stops playing and then the movie clip corresponding to the button plays.
I want them all to be able to play at once. So for example you push button 1 and the alien plays, but half way through you could click button 2 and the alien clip would keep playing, but also the helicopter clip would begin to play as well.Here is the code I have so far:

I've got a heading I want to retain on all pages, but the content will change. I guess this would have to be in a movieClip as some pages the content will fit my stage, other pages will have content that is larger than the stage.I'd like to be able to scroll down through these pages which contain both text and images. I'm not sure how I would be able to set this up.
View 5 RepliesI created a movie clip that has an image on every frame. I'd like to create a scroll bar for simple and easy veiwing of the images. But I don't want a typical scroll like a UIscroll component, because I don't want the images to flow together. I just want to jump from image to image.
Does anyone have some code or ideas for this?

So I've got a website set up where there are several pages and photos mixed in and I've placed them all inside a movie clip called "content_mc". I've created a scroll bar graphic that I've placed on the bottom of the stage and turned the left arrow and right arrow into buttons called "left" and "right". Using the following code from autorial, I have the movie clip sliding to the right when you click the right arrow and left when you click the left arrow. I am trying to modify the Tutorial on this site that contains the scrolling thumbnail XML gallery. I would like to contain the slideshow within a movie clip. While everything works fine when the gallery is created on the main timeline, the thumbnails fail to scroll when placed into a movie symbol. movie is moving to left and right but up and down does not work.
On my stage i have a scroll pane (instance name scrollPane).I have a container which i populate with dynamically created clips (instance name faveContainer). The clips are in this case, just thumbnails pulled from a folder.I want to push that container into the scroll pane once its built up.Heres where i am currently....Im guessing that scrollPane isnt picking up the faveContainer off the stage, but out of the library, but while that might be the case, i don't know what to do about it.I saw kirupa example, and attempted to copy its behaviour, but, well, cant!

how scroll a movie clip across the stage with actionscript rather than tweening.
Basically I have a simple movie clip that consists of around 12, text only, buttons and I want mutiple instances of the movie clip to scroll left->right across the screen, repeating itself seamlessly. At the moment I am tweening it but the file size has become unmanageable.
Here is what I want to do with the page.The boxes at the bottom will be images either embedded in the movie or loaded dynamically that scroll from left to right until someone clicks on a link above. Once the button is pressed the scrolling images at the bottom will stop and slide to a designated image and turn it from black and white to color
View 10 RepliesI am trying to make a flash movie that will always be fullscreen on the horizontal at 1024x768 and at widescreen 1400x768. the site is called [URL] You will see that the movie slides along fine, but at different size screens it just doesnt quite fit right. I was also looking at making the movie less responsive to the mouse, say the closer the mouse gets to the edge of screen the faster it scrolls, and make sure that the image never scrolls past where it should and just reach the border of the image on either side. Is this possible?
